The room was new and clean. The balcony had a beautiful view and the hosts very helpful. Perfect to stay in Corneglia. Not crowded compared to Vernazza and Monterosso. We really enjoyed our stay there!
My husband and I spent two wonderful nights staying at Sandra Villa Rooms in charming Corniglia, the middle town in Cinque Terre. Sandra’s place is set on a beautiful little square, and the room (#2) could hardly be more inviting. Spotless and sweetly appointed, it features a small balcony with views out to the sea. Great shower, comfy bed, a/c, lots of light. Sandra was a terrific host and suggested we look into A Cantina da Mananan for dinner, which we did. It’s a tiny place just steps away from the Villa Rooms, and dinner was delicious. Don’t miss the tiramisu! Corniglia has fewer tourists than the other Cinque towns because it does not have a port, and many people say it’s the most beautiful. We’d absolutely agree. On our second day, we enjoyed a sweet al fresco breakfast at Matteo Cafe and later, dinner at another special place, Ristorante Cecio. These were both recommendations from Sandra. We hiked the trail to Vernazza and would go it again. Meanwhile the between-towns train was handy for checking out all five incredible villages, each with its own romantic allure. After hearing about Cinque Terre for years and years, I’m happy to say that I was in no way disappointed and can’t wait to return. Mille grazie, Sandra.
Sandra's rooms are perfect for a stay in Corniglia!!! Romantic style, perfect cleanliness, the best location. Some have a balcony and an amazing view to the mountains and the sea. What a lovely place!!!!! Sandra and her husband Paolo are wonderful people, charming and helpful. If you want to stay in the village, absolutely choose this place!!!
We were fortunate to spend a week at Sandra Villa and we enjoyed every minute of it and even hope to return in the future. First off Sandra and Paola are great down to earth people!!! Due to our plane and trains running late we did not arrive until after 9 PM exhausted. So grateful to see Paola waiting for us at the train station with a smile and wanting to carry our heavy luggage. God bless him!!! Walking down this narrow cobbled lane to our room was almost an out of body experience. All quiet, lights flickering here and there, potted plants on stairs, it felt so Italian!!! Since we hadn’t eaten since breakfast, Sandra who greeted us warmly, took us to Cafe Mateo for pizza before saying good night to us. Our room was perfect in that it had all we needed...plus an amazing balcony with ocean views!!! The bed is quite low, fine for me under 5 ft tall but not as much for my over 6 ft tall hubby. BUT we were able to open our suitcases and store them under the bed : ) He didn’t care for the pillows and I found them fine. The shower was nice and hot with a heavy stream of water...wonderful especially after hiking!!! We used the patio often to gaze at the sea, the green hills, the town above us, people tending their vines, sip some wine, or play cards. Sunsets from there weren’t too bad either. We did not hear our neighbors often but yes it is close quarters. What we did hear were birds singing during the day and frogs lulling us to sleep at night. Wouldn’t trade a thing other than wishing for a real chair to sit on as we spent seven days there. All we had were sturdy metal chairs from our patio set, and we made do. Our room was centrally located to at least four restaurants within steps of our room. We tried them all, plus many others. This is not a B&B so no breakfast is served. Two restaurants close by served a nice reasonably priced breakfast. We loved being at Sandra’s, highly recommend it, and hope to return next year!!! What a gift it was to spend a week in Corniglia, the smallest and least touristy of the five.
Wonderful stay! We made a booking last minute for Cinque Terre and ending up with Corniglia. Very happy to choose Sandra Villas, we sent an email that we were coming late and as soon as we got off the train Sandra’s husband was there to drive us to the place! The room was very comfortable and the owners were so friendly and eager to help us with anything we need. Corniglia is nice and quiet to escape the busy tourism of the other 4 villages. The balcony had a nice view and everything you need is in the town! Thank you Sandra!

Hi Emly. A shuttle bus meets the train. It costs a few Euros but is worth it. The Shuttle drops you off in the middle of the town, pretty close to Sandra's. If the main hiking trails are closed, you can still hike the Red trails between villages (longer and more difficult). The easiest way to get between villages is the train. It comes very often and connects all 5 easily.

I made my reservations with Sandra by e-mail. She did not require a credit card to hold the room reservation. She just wanted me to re-confirm 3 days in advance with my arrival information. She was very nice to work with.
