We had booked and paid for hotel Cortarillo through hotels.com, although arriving at the termini station Google showed the hotel had closed down and we had not received any such info from the booking.

In august 2016 I made a booking through a third party for 21-25 march 2017 and they immediately charged all the costs. In december 2016 the hotel canceled the reservation with the reason that they are closing their activity but didn't give back the money...More
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

If you're okay with the idea of a budget hotel, this place was perfectly okay in my mind. I doupted before i stayed there too, but when i stayed it was all good and i had everything i needed. I think people who ha e given very negative feedback are kind of looking for bad sides. (Of course if you clearly see something spesific which YOU especially need is missing in this place then it's a different case, and you should maybe contact the hotel about this specific need. But they had everything they promised and more, and the staff seemed like they really hope us to have a succesfull stay and holiday and they worked for it.
(Btw i like to stay in four star hotels but after staying here and some other place i was thinking there's no point in wasting your money for such. At least if you're staying long time.)
