Nicely situated, spotlessly clean and with good helpful staff, I reckon this place to be excellent value for money in a rather expensive city.

There's some modest communal space and the furnishings are good. But you don't go to Rome to see the inside of your hotel; you go to see Rome! And here the location is a real bonus. Five minutes from the Spanish steps, 10 minutes for the Via del Corso or the Borghese gardens, its central location makes it perfect for your first stay (as this was for me).

There are two catering areas. A somewhat crowded dining room on the ground floor serves breakfast which I would avoid if you want something cooked. They have cakes and pastries galore but scrambled egg and sausage can pall after four days. There is however, a rooftop bar which is worth a visit. The view is partly obscured but the ambience is excellent and the charming Cuban barman made me the most generous of Negronis.

Indeed, staff were generally charming and helpful and it has a distinctly family feel to it. I managed to arrive without a charger for my mobile; but one was supplied...out of the handbag of the manager's mother!

We visited as part of birthday celebrations. The hotel is fantastically located. The Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain are a 5 to 10 minute walk away and the nearest metro station is also 5 minutes away. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The rooftop terrace is a hidden gem and we used it every evening where we had a drink and watched the sun set over the Roman skyline. As others have said the rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade. Having said that Room 318 was very spacious and being at the rear of the hotel, very quiet. The bathroom was modern and everything was spotlessly clean. One tip to UK travellers - make sure you have adapters to fit the Type L 3 pin sockets as we were unable to use our normal continental adaptor apart from one plug in the bathroom. All in all a very well situated hotel that we look forward to staying at again

Great location for walking to the majority of the tourist sites. Lovely roof terrace with great views across the city, and a very nice barman called Antonio! Bed was comfy and pillows good, very clean and the staff were excellent throughout. A few minor gripes but nothing huge - breakfast was OK but the hot offering could have been a bit more inspiring than eggs and frankfurters. There was a kettle in the room with two cups but nothing else - i.e. no coffee, tea or anything to put in them so not sure what the point was of providing them but never mind :) In summary, if you are looking for a centrallly located hotel at a reasonable price you can't go far wrong with this one.

COVID altered our plans to stay 2 nights at Hotel Cecil before our 12 day Holy Land cruise. At the time of booking the "travel agent" booked non refundable rooms which at the time was not a problem. The hotel is not refunding the 1 night deposit even though we cannot travel to Italy at this time. Our airfare was non refundable but the airline did refund our fare in full since the flight was canceled. By the way our cruise was canceled as well. The policy should be relaxed during this pandemic.

We liked the Cecil very much. Our room was clean, very quiet, large bathroom and the beds were comfortable. The location is busy but very central with lots of cafes for breakfast and within easy reach of all the main sites. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Great location in the center of Rome, about 500 mt from the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps, 300 mt from tge metro stop Barberini. I found it great to walk from and to and also use transport when needed and it was comfortable.
The room had enough space and it was very clean, the floor too and that isnt always the case with places, and ot was cleaned everyday. The staff were all very nice and helpfull.
If i will visit Rome once more will come back here :).

Great location! Close to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Amazing restaurants all around. The shopping was phenomenal. Close to the US Embassy just in case, you should need it. Nice rooftop bar with a great bartender. The staff at the front desk was not very accommodating but we made the best of it.

Always a good welcome at the Hotel Cecil in Roma. Rooms are comfortable, nothing too much trouble for the staff and convenient for Roma Termini and the Trevi Fountain. 5 minutes walk from the Via Veneto (Harry’s Bar etc.) and 5 minutes from the Borghese Park.

Affordable hotel near Termini train station and really near centre ( Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese) , available at short notice as decided to cut short my stay in Perugia. Very welcoming . Comfortable single room. Not noisy. Lovely lady on reception helped me practice my Italian. Nice rooftop bar and terrace with views of city. Felt very at home here.
