Very good reception staff that treated me with dignity and respect even though I am a tourist and there's too many of us, so thank you for this. Breakfast buffet is outstanding. Quality of room was very good. Bed is big and comfortable with no issues. Soap bar in the bathroom is actually big and not a little cheap thing found elsewhere, which tells me they're not cheaping out on my experience.

I was staying in the hotel during my participation on a international forum. The hotel has excellent congress events of this kind with 6 meeting rooms and a large auditorium which was perfect for the event I took part in. The service is very good I have an impression that the staff is very reserved and professional. The WiFi signal is weаk in many parts of the hotel including the loby and the restaurant and ofcourse in some rooms. The hotel has a beautiful garden you can enjoy. The hotel is very close to a metro statiotn (Cornelia) and just a few stations to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Fontana di Trevi etc.

It was a large, nice looking hotel with huge layout in terms of lobby and common areas. The rooms were generally ok, just a bit small. The breakfast was decent and had a good variety, however the breakfast room was not air conditioned and seemed very hot.

Location was near a metro station called Cornelia, which is very convenient to get to all the sights. This is particularly important, as Rome shockingly has practically no metro lines other than 2 or 3. Having been to other capitals like London, Paris and Berlin, which have at least a dozen or more metro lines serving every corner of the respective capitals, we were often stranded in very central places with no way back to the hotel or the nearest metro station without taking a taxi.

Disliked: The rooms did not have shampoo, conditioner, or shower caps upon arrival. (But we got 2 little shoe sponges and ear cleaning buds) Generally, not one of the 4 Italian hotels we stayed at offered hair conditioner, which we eventually had to buy in a shop. My daughters’ room had “hand wash” installed in their shower cubicle, not even body wash. I had to call reception to get some shampoo for both rooms and body wash. There was no make up mirror. My room had no proper hair dryer, but something that looked like the hose of a vacuum cleaner.

The air conditioning was not strong enough and we slept in sweltering heat of 25 degrees. Generally, all Italian hotels we stayed at were set to 24 or 25 degrees as the lowest point, which really doesn’t cut it for a comfortable night of sleep. The air con unit was positioned directly under the window sill, so all the cold air was blowing at the sill and behind the window curtains. So the actual room temp was more like 27 degrees.

The check in took easily 25-30 min just for us, as the receptionist spent an endless amount of time with our passports and with the city tax. They weren’t particularly friendly.

Dear Twettiseek, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of staying at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace. TH Roma - Carpegna Palace is a modern and well-maintained hotel located in the northern area of Rome. The city center is easily accessible from TH Roma, with the Cornelia metro stop being approximately 5 minutes away. We understand your disappointment regarding the development of the Capital's metro network. The abundance of historical artifacts underground always poses challenges for the expansion and realization of major projects such as the metro. We apologize for the incidents you reported during your stay last summer. We are constantly working to improve our service. We would love to have the opportunity to host you again when you return to Rome. Best Regards, The Management and Team of TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

My/our experience was this is not a 4 star hotel based on the room quality and the service you will likely be offered, We booked a short 4 night stay in Rome, our experience was so poor we checked out after 1 day. The reception staff we dealt gave the impression of not caring at all about stay, nor did they provide any information to us. We had a junior suite on the second floor, it was dark and dingy, being badly lit, the was a single narrow window that looked out on as other reviews have noted the waste bins. The room was very dated, the bathroom was dated and in parts dirty, the shower cubicle was dirty inside and out in the areas of sealant was blown and dirty, beds were uncomfortable. The wardrobe had 4 of the hotel type coat hangers that can't be removed therefore the hotel had deemed 4 coat hangers as acceptable - this is a minor point but a key point as to the level of detail and customer service that is not present. The room had barely any facilities, an old small fridge, a dodgy hairdryer in the bathroom, a phone to ring reception , a safe deposit box, a mirror, there were two plug sockets in the room neither of which were by the beds. The room just felt a really uncomfortable place to be. Also there was a smoke/fire detector (or suchlike) in our room, this had a flashing red LED light that would flash every few seconds, illuminating the room with a red/orange glow not best to put it mildly when trying to sleep. The location of the hotel is poor,it is akin to thinking you are booking a city break in central London and realising your hotel is in one of the outer London boroughs, we travelled on the Metro and coming back on the Metro late at night to the hotel and walking from the Metro station to the hotel did not feel safe due the area and locality the hotel is in . Breakfast was very mediocre and the circular dinning room we were served breakfast in was again very dated in appearance. There is a good adage buy cheap buy twice. We when checked out after 1 day instead of 4 the reception staff did not even enquire as to any reason why we were leaving early, which should tell you all you need to know.
In summary very dated and poor quality rooms offered to holiday makers, really inattentive staff who seem like they could not care less about your stay, very poor location ( partly our fault for not thoroughly researching), mediocre food offered for breakfast. Rome is an expensive place to visit do not waste your money booking this hotel even though it may seem to on the surface offer value for money, also do not equate the outside of the hotel or reception area with what your room will be like.

Responded 09 Nov 2022
Dear Richard S, thank you for sharing your experience of your stay in Rome. We are sorry that your staying in Rome did not meet your expectations. The Junior Suites at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace are located on the 3rd floor of the hotel, they have two separated rooms, the bathrooms all renovated, two large and bright windows overlooking the 5-hectare park in which TH Roma is immersed. The room description given in the review does not reflect the layout and elements found within the Junior Suites at TH Roma - Carpegna Palace, but details of lower category rooms in the Hotel, which are kept to reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. Some areas of the hotel were renovated a few years ago, including the common areas, Junior Suites and Prestige rooms, it seems odd to us that in the Junior Suites both the rooms and their bathrooms could be considered old and worn. We are building the waste disposal island to deposit waste and have it collected by the municipal company, which is very often late with the removal. We would like to host you on holiday at TH Roma, so that you can discover the services and comfort of a holiday in Italy. Kind regards The Management and the entire Team of TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

I was quite shocked to see the reviews of the church palace here. I stayed there for a few days while working in rome in Oct 2019.

To be honest it wasnt very busy and it was kind of low season but considering the stunning building interiors and location you coudnt fault the price.

I was with someone who could be considered famous there for a few hours while they were waiting for a flight and they were amazed at the hotel. They said they'd been in six stars that didnt look that good.

If you wanted to go to central rome it was straight up the metro. If you wanted to stay local the main drag had very friendly restaurants, cafes bakeries et al.

Its a stunning hotel in a local neighbourhood that lets you experience both. And its at the end of one of romes metro lines. I dont honestly get the oppropbrium the hotel seems to receive here.

The hotel building and grounds are quite spectacular , the restaurant facilities are very good , the 481 Ristorante has a great menu and the food is prepared with great care . We stayed 3 days in Rome before going on a cruise . While the hotel is outside the traditional City of Rome it is close to the Cornelia Metro stop so getting into Rome central was easy and cheap .The room at least in the wing of the hotel we stayed in was quite dated and lacked amenities that most travellers expect like USB ports . Also the view from our room was the worst I have ever experienced when staying at any hotel anywhere . I would have given this hotel a 5 * review if not for the room condition and the view which consisted of discarded furniture and construction material . The wifi was exceptional . I would stay here again but not in the room I was given .

Great stay, the hotel was beautiful. Usually the breakfast in hotels are very blend, however the food was surprisingly good and tasty, various types of breakfast items. Didn't try the restaurant for lunch or dinner as we were mostly out visiting popular places. Although, we spent time on the bar each day, the young bartender was so polite and friendly, he really made our stay extra special by his charm and personality. His name was Guglielmo I beleive, but I might be wrong. During the nights there was an older bartender, he was also attentive and kind. The place itself was very comforting, really felt like home. I would return any time. Thank you!
The room was great, very comfortable bed and spacious. We asked for extra pillow which we received. We had some issue with the kettle, this was actioned straight away. Cleanliness was excellent, didn't have to ask for cleaning, housekeepers were coming each day. The only thing I would say needs improving is the shower, the pressure was very low. Other than that, great room.

Dear 609izabellah, thank you for taking some time to ahare your experience with us. We are proud of our breakfast selection, and we are delighted that you enjoyed it. We have many options, both sweet and savoury, including croissants, cakes and different kind of cold meats, cheese and bread. On request we can prepare all sort of hot breakfast drinks. Morever those who want to try something new or desire to treat themselves with something fancy can choose extras from the extensive breakfast menu. Having a coffee or a drink at the 'Chiostro' bar is like keep on being on your sightseeing tour of Rome, even if you already are back in the hotel, thanks to the view of the private church façade. We hope we can accommodate you again for your holiday, so you can try our Restaurant 481 and dine on its charming terrace overlooking the park of TH Roma. So I've stayed in many really nice expensive and many really nice budget hotels and this is probably the worst I've stayed in. The staff don't even acknowledge you unless you look like you're dripping in cash, we were given the economy room on booking, wish we'd known it was a bad choice as doesn't even have any information about the hotel or services in the room not even a pen. Room service is provided but we have no idea what is available. Unable to see any menus apart from the most expensive restaurant. No iron provided, you have to sign for a key to use the ironing facility, not ideal. No kettle in the room and the fridge in the room doesn't work. We haven't eaten here as to be honest we don't feel welcome or comfortable enough to do so. Hotel seems full of conference people and they seem to be the only people that matter. All in all its been an unwelcoming stay. The hotel looks the part but has no atmosphere or staff who care about your visit. Shame really as its location is ideal, a 15 min ride to the main tourist areas. Wont be back.

Dear 648katiej, we are glad you appreciated the proximity of the TH Roma - Carpegna Palace to the main monumental areas of Rome. The TH Roma is easy to reach by car and public transport, including aeroplanes, and is in fact about 30 minutes from Rome Fiumicino Airport. The hotel is on the Via Aurelia, one of the ancient Roman consular roads, has free private parking and is about 150 metres from the Cornelia metro stop, which takes you to the Piazza di Spagna and on to Termini train station. We invite you to follow our social channels to keep in touch with the world of TH Resorts. Cordial greetings The Management and the entire Team of TH Roma - Carpegna Palace.

I am from those who can't afford a luxury suite therefore that could explain why our room's window was not on the park side but rather on a dumpster (photo to prove what I say).
This hotel is truly majestic and everything within is beautiful. But I have been chocked when I saw an open air dumpster from my sister and niece room's window.
I sincerely recommend management to invest in a structure that will cover the dumpster, or relocate it to a non visible spot within the hotel.

Dear Sophie A, thank you for contacting us. From TH Roma - Carpegna Palace you can reach the main areas of Rome, which is about 6 kilometres from the Hotel, in several ways. The metro has the Cornelia stop, on line B, about 150 metres from the hotel, and it takes 7 stops and about 15 minutes to reach the Spanish Steps.
