Historic palazzo on the outside, a bold interpretation of luxury inside, W Rome celebrates the Italian attitude and captures the energy of the Eternal City. With its 162 rooms and suites, design twist and vibrant experiences, the hotel marks the W Hotels’ entry to the scene in an unapologetically Italian way. Head chef Ciccio Sultano shakes up the city’s foodie scene, with authentic Sicilian cooking served at Giano Restaurant, while Italian tastemaker Daria Reina brings her passion for the city at W The Store.Loaded with Roman vitality yet dismantling the norm, W Rome has something for everyone, whether it be a sweet retreat at Zucchero x Fabrizio Fiorani, a cocktail with upbeat music at W Lounge or live entertainment at Giardino Clandestino. On the upper floor, striking views of the city make Otto Rooftop Bar, in collaboration with Pier Daniele Seu, and WET Deck even more exceptional. Owning the Eternal City mindset, W Rome calls out the past, present and future to remix tradition and defy boundaries.

The W Rome garners appreciation for its stylish atmosphere and modern comforts, though noise can sometimes be a detractor. Guests enjoy the hotel's prime location near iconic sights and commend the exceptional service and cleanliness.
The hotel's amenities are a highlight, including comfortable rooms and diverse dining options, but some guests feel the rooms and pools are on the smaller side. While the value is debated due to varying opinions on room size and cost, the overall experience at W Rome is celebrated for blending traditional charm with contemporary luxury.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed with a group of colleagues for 4 nights. We rented 9 rooms, including a suite and also a small conference room.
This is s brand new hotel and it shows. The property is very nice and the materials used are really high quality. However, the service is quite inconsistent. Most of the staff were great. The biggest problem was the front desk. Some of the front desk people were quite unaccommodating. For instance, when I asked for a room with a street view they were really unhelpful and literally insisted to charge me extra 40 EUR per night for it even though the room was exactly the same. Obviously this was really silly given how much money we were spending there as a group.
Overall, my recommendation is to give it some time until they fix all the issues. In the meantime, stay in one of the more classic and established hotels in the same location (e.g. Hotel Eden.)

This is the best city hotel I’ve stayed at while in Rome, it’s still very new which is a bonus. Great location near the metro & 10 minute walk to Trevi fountain. It’s in a great location to be able to walk around the city and there are plenty of restaurants or shops near by. The Spanish steps are within a few mins walk. The hotel lives up to the W tag but with a very Romana and Italian feel. My partner and I completely love it and we will be going back here every time we head back to Rome.
The entire ambience and vibe was so relaxing and the room super modern with everything you need to feel relaxed on a city break. Coffee machine in room makes great espresso, plenty of options for in dining/snacks. There is AM & PM turned down service. The breakfast is top quality and worth the price. Quality and not quantity with a buffet range, so they don’t have food waste. But a single La carte option is offered each day. The restaurant Giano is top quality and value for money, the Pasta was divine.
The lounge, bar and courtyard is the best part of the hotel with great evening aperitifs and music. I can see the bar being a Friday night must visit for all once it takes off for tourists and locals. The music cannot be herd in your room. Terrace was closed but I can see it being equally as good in the summer. This hotel has a gym which is a 10/10.
Now for the best bit, the people and staff. We felt like VIP’s and anything we needed was catered for by Filippo. His smile behind a face mask made and care made our break amazing and he was just so lovely, along with all the other team, they were amazing. Ilya at breakfast accommodates for anything even if it wasn’t the Italian way to have breakfast, continually asking if we needed more hot drinks or anything else. I cannot recommend this hotel more and probably the best I have ever stayed worldwide for one in a city.
We will be back even for a quick weekend.

Nothing can compare with the services provided by the concierge team of Rome W. They are attentive, knowledgeable and extremely patient. I went to meet my newborn nephew who was brought along by my brother and his wife to Rome on holiday. I appreciate the efforts which the team had made in providing us with the assistance for transportations which could accommodate all our needs and saved us from much of the hassles in travelling with a baby. They also made arrangements for us to eat at restaurants which were baby friendly. Through the introduction of and booking by the Rome W concierge team, the restaurants we went had made special arrangements to make us and the most importantly the baby happy and at ease. When we arrived at the restaurant, the table was placed with appropriate toys which would keep the baby entertain and for us to enjoy the dinner.
Gennaro (of Rome W’s concierge team) is a handsome young man who is polite and well mannered. He performs his job extremely professionally and with empathy. He has handled the client’s matters as if those are his personal matters which was an important attributes in working at the service industry. We will go back to this hotel and will highly recommend it.

+1
I have always stayed at the Westin around the corner. The W just opened up since my last visit a few months ago.
The great:
1. Location with ready access to Villa Borgeisi should you want morning runs and Spanish steps should you want to stroll in the evening
2. Modern decor and new.
3. Center courtyaard bar and rooftop pool bar.
4. Friendly attentive staff (all of them).
5. And the very best feature is a non-hotel quality health club/fitness center at the hotel. Its got a unique wall style and a diverse set of equipment. Lots of free weights/bars/machines as well as the standard cardio you would find anywhere.
The things to watch for:
1. The pounding music that can only be found at a W. Its at the health club, its in the lobby. This is what you sign up for when you stat at a W so make sure you are okay with it.
2. Rooms are small. They are W size but small if you are used to bigger rooms at non-W brands.
3. The very last critic is not one of the hotel or the property but the vicinity. This hotel is in a posh neighborhood. Other classy hotels, a museum, the Swiss Institute of Rome, and the US Embassy. However, after about 10pm the building on the next block has some sort of an adult club that opens and they put out a street-level neon sign thats not normally there during the day. Then the people working the club are posted at each end of the block asking you to come there and what a great deal it is. They just assume anybody for a walk must be looking for that perfect bar.
I have in the past stayed at Ws with the family (not this one). I am only saying be aware that the street becomes less family friendly after 10pm. And then there are ladies as well trying to proposition you in normal dress clothes. I am sure all is perfectly legal or they won't be doing it in plain sight, but still not pleasant if thats not your thing.

Overall, was a decent hotel experience. As a W though, it's not one of their better properties.
Pros:
Great location
Nice restaurant
Clean, relatively large rooms
Front door service is great/attentive
Cons:
Small property
Bar/lounge was pretty dead; doesn't attract an outside crowd like a typical W lounge
Tiny rooftop pool
Front desk staff are very friendly and talkative, but they almost make it worse by overhyping and then underwhelming

It was nice to receive a email about a week before our arrival from Whatever Whenever Agent in guest services. They were reaching out if we had any requests or needed assistance getting to the W Hotel. We did have a couple of requests and we were pleased that they were able to accommodate them.
From the moment we walked in the front door, everyone was so friendly and lots of smiles on their faces. One team member came up to us as we were checking in with water. I wish I could remember the young man’s name that checked us in. He was so kind and even walked us to the elevator. I think he could see the jet lag in our faces. The valet brought up our bags and explained how the lights worked, thermostat, etc… He along with checkin said if we need anything at all please let them know. It would be nice and helpful if the employees wore name tags.
Our room was spotless and very quiet(one of our requests). The room is a bit small compared to American standards but the bathroom and walk-in shower is large with luscious thick towels. The bed was very comfortable.
After settling in, we decided to explore the hotel where we came across Nada (?sp). Oh my goodness what a delightful young lady!!!! She walked us around to the different restaurants and showed us the menus. Answered all of our questions. She greeted us each morning for breakfast and wanted to know how we were doing and if we needed anything or had more questions. Breakfast had quite an assortment of different meats, pastries, fruit, yogurt with toppings etc…You also could order a hot item off of the menu. At was all very good!!
The Concierge was helpful too! He saw us in the lobby with our map in hand trying to figure out what to do. We told him we had checkin earlier but was trying to find something to do to stay awake. He suggested we walk to the Spanish steps which was about a 8 minute walk and he gave us excellent directions!!!
After an all day golf cart tour today we decided to order room service. Julia delivered our room service promptly and set it up on the table in our room. The food was delicious and hot. Julia returned later for pickup. She was very attentive.
Sad we are checking out tomorrow. I know the next time we are back in Rome the W Hotel will be our go to hotel.

We could not have been happier! I debated staying at a Marriott property since I wanted a more "authentic" Rome experience, but in an effort to collect points for another coming trip, my teen daughter and I opted to stay at the W. I"m so glad we did. Sara at the front desk was wonderful. They were on every detail, from answering questions, room service requests, potential room upgrades (which they offered, but we decided to stay put), etc. The concierge was very responsive and knowledgeable. The room was elegantly decorated, new, and with current technology options. The location is a 5-7 min walk from the Spanish steps and the major shopping area. Bar was great, breakfast very good if you choose a hearty breakfast. (We ate there more than I had planned since a walk is required to go to a more local coffee house.) All in all, highly recommended. They did a great job and far exceeded my expectations. My sister and her family are going in Aug and will now be staying there as well.. when the roof top pool and pizza bar are open.

After a two week odyssey, covering Athens, Santorini, Venice and Florence, we settled at the W Rome for our final leg of a fabulous vacation, checking in on 7/23 for four nights with connecting rooms on the second floor. Alas, we found our home. We were greeted with such a pleasant representative, Federica. Federica was so professional, courteous and checked us in no time. Francesco delivered our bags to our room and when the 2nd room was ready, he dropped off the keys right away. The W Rome is a luxurious hotel within walking distance to all the major attractions. The Vatican and Colosseo is a 15 minute taxi ride and about 7-10 euros with four passengers. I highly recommend getting the “Free Now” app so you have set prices. The breakfast has a large selection of hot and colds and was absolutely delicious every morning to start the day. The rooms are ultra modern, and although somewhat small, the layout is really pretty. The gym is one of a kind and you will not see one like this in a Rome hotel. Amazing. We had an issue with our toilet but they offered us another room right away which we declined. Emiliano was a standout in asking us how’s the bathroom everyday. Haha. I miss him already. Claudia, the front desk manager, along with Raffaela, were truly outstanding as well. This place is a gem and a spectacular property and the staff make the W Rome a very special place.

W Rome is the GOLD standard for W Hotels around the globe. Their service is impeccable, with ALL my requirements met and more. The service staff is ever ready to serve and made my stay in Rome a comfortable and pleasant one. Each night, I receive hand written notes in my room with special treats (fruits and chocolates). If this doesn't warm your heart I don't know what does. Something I really liked about W Rome is the flooring of the bathroom. They've chosen a glossy but anti-slip material that is very safe, unlike some other hotels I've been. There are staff in the hotel that remembers my name even though I've not given them my name. I really appreciate how much attention has been paid to my stay here. A big shout out to Alina, Federica, Danilo Tomeo, Alessio Fagotti, Filippo, Flaviano, Gialuca, Raffaella and Max.... thank you all for making my stay here so special. Grazie Millie!!

The hostess that greeted us when we arrived was very helpful and professional. But that’s where the positive experience ended. The pictures that are currently associated with this roof top make it appear to be luxurious. It fails to show the “cheap seating”. We were in fact sat on wooden slatted metallic chairs against the wall. This was our last night in Rome and therefore we wanted it to be special.
Unfortunately the rooftop bar at our (hotel which is from the same hotel group) is under construction therefore we were not able to utilise it.
We were served by a sort sullen waiter directed to the QR code on the table for the menu. The QR code only shows a limited amount of drinks and food. I asked if they did Prosecco, they don’t! We were then shown a physical drinks menu, which actually showed you could purchase the drinks by the glass and not only by the bottle as per the QR code. Drinks are grossly overpriced. We paid €100 for a bottle of sparkling wine!!
The menu is limited to pizzas I ordered a margarita these are brought from the ground floor kitchen apparently to the sixth floor. Mine was cold and I also found meat in the first slice, which had I been a vegetarian would be a different matter.
The service was so poor and very slow that we had to pour our own drinks we were never approached to ensure that our meal was satisfactory we had to actually identify a manager ourselves and they kindly took the €14 off our bill!!!
Our seating was uncomfortable my husband had a post behind him so he couldn’t move his seating any further and I had a large planted Rise with thorns behind me that kept catching my hair and clothing.
There were two gentlemen seated at the table next to us it was a very compact situation we got into conversation with them they were both professional gentleman from Rome. Who said that this was their second visit to this particular venue and they wouldn’t be returning. They also stated on seeing our food they would not be ordering food either.
Considering this is an expensive hotel, it’s service in no way eclipsed the amazing customer service we are experiencing at the Meridien Visconti.

This hotel was extensively remodeled prior to opening last year. Being an older building it makes for unique room types. I have been in 3 different rooms. One was a 2 story suite with a spiral staircase and 1.5 baths, one a deluxe king(I didn't want to wait for the suite to be ready) lovely room and bath, and 2 studio suites both were beautiful and spacious. They are quite responsive and would be better at defining exact differences.
Have fun!
I don't know if technically they allow it but having stayed here and loved it - it's a small room. I would stay here again in a heartbeat but probably not with a kid. However, if this is the best option for you then, it is doable if the hotel allows.

Kolkata (Calcutta), India17 contributions3 helpful votesWe have two children. is it family friendly hotel?
I didn’t see children while we stayed there; the entertainment centers around cocktails, DJs, etc, so I’d say you’d be better off looking for a hotel that has more facilities for children ?
