This sad excuse for a hotel is located in a horrible area. There is graffiti all around the hotel, and the night we arrived, there was a homeless man who stripped naked in front of us, and proceeded to pee on a car in front of the hotel. This was appalling to us, and terrifying to our 12 year old son, who thought the man would come after us. Once we were in the hotel, we checked in to what was supposed to be a NON-SMOKING room, but it was VERY obvious many people smoked in there. My wife is allergic, so I asked to move rooms. The manager's response was, "If someone smokes in the rooms, there is nothing we can do about it." WHAT?!? REALLY?!? Ridiculous! We paid for a NON-SMOKING ROOM! The room he takes us to has a sliding glass door with NO LOCK on it, and NO SAFE in the room. UNACCEPTABLE! Needless to say, I moved my family to a different hotel. When we tried to get a refund, the manager lied and said there was no smell in the room and there was no graffiti in the neighborhood and it was safe. I have pictures to prove otherwise, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!…
We stayed at the Select Garden Hotel in Rome the last week of July, what a find...Five minutes from the Termini train station (airport to station 30 min 19.50 euros each way). Greated at the door and shown to our room even though we were early. Don't expect a large room because they are not, but spotlessly clean (ours had a terrace you could sit in if you have the time) . Breakfast is 7am till 10am and sets you off for the day a head. Usual fare and topped up regularly, but included in the price and that's a bonus in Rome as being a city is expensive. The staff are amazing...nothing is to much trouble for any of them...knowledgeable, friendly and helpful ....Management should be proud ....The area is as you would expect from a city centre but safe and relatively clean and tidy, Come out of the back exit of the station (taxi rank) cross road. take I think was the 4th left turn (may be fifth) and you're there Thank you Select Garden for a great 7 night break …
I’m not one for terrible reviews or complain a lot but, the second evening, we discovered ants all over the floor. As guests in a small room, we didn’t eat inside due to the spacing issues. I called the front and they seemed a bit confused, but did offer to switch rooms. We did, but then I found the largest mold spot known to man in our next location. (Note: However, I don’t think they remedied the issue, instead book it to someone else) Breakfast is a typical European breakfast, but in the end, this hotel probably once was delightful has been deferred it’s TLC for a nice quaint hotel.
Best thing is that it is very close to Termini station. There are grocery shops and many restaurants around. And if one likes to walk a lot (as I do) it’s a walking distance to city centre attractions. I only stayed for one night and it was a pleasant stay. The room was clean tho small. The bed was comfy. There is a/c unit, fridge and a safe. Bathroom had shower gel/hair wash, soap and hair dryer. It was quiet. No noise from the street or other rooms. The breakfast room is small but there is a decent choice of food available. The reception staff is professional and willing to help. Would stay again when next time in Rome.
Visited Rome early June 2019 for long weekend. Hotel was fantastic and in a great location five min walk from termini train station. On arrival discovered the internet company had accidentally booked a double room when it should have been twin. This was no problem to Jacamo who sorted it without any trouble. Over the weekend we were looked after by Mario and Lawrence. Excellent staff and a credit to hotel select - highly recommended
