The best thing about this hotel is location. It is within walking distance of all sites. Lovely restaurants and cafes all around. Staff were very helpful organising taxis, great tips on eating out. The laten quarter was suggested and it was well worth the walk, food and restaurants were excellent. Bedroom was large and comfortable, AC good. We had a very late check-in and it was no problem.

Very convenient location, lots of nearby shops, and restaurants, close enough to walk to most sites. The lobby is decorated in traditional Italian style with great lighting and interesting artwork throughout. Staff at reception were very kind, thorough and helpful. They even brought up our lost luggage at midnight!
The included breakfast was refreshing and enjoyable, with availability from 6:30-10:00 am. The 2 dining rooms were never crowded despite it being the holidays and several tour groups were staying at the hotel. There were ample staff to replenish and tidy the buffet and tables. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The décor was lovely and relaxing. The breakfast included a good selection of breads, juices, fruit (including amazing fresh fruit salad), and cereals, as well as some hot choices.
The 2 small elevators were fast and we seldom had to wait long. Our upgraded superior room was much smaller than expected but nicely decorated with a pretty curved ceiling. The firm bed was comfortable but we could have used a top sheet and blanket; there was only a fitted sheet and a duvet. Also a couple more pillows would have been welcome. Robes and slippers were provided, but they were small and the robes were course. The bathroom was spacious with good lighting, lots of marble, upscale fixtures and rainfall showerhead. We were on the 7th floor, which was very quiet with a lovely city view towards the back of the hotel, and windows that opened. Large flat screen tv seemed to have only Italian channels, unfortunately. A slim desk and chair completed the room but it would have been good to have a second chair. It would be nice if the hotel switched from disposable glasses and cups to glass and china to be more sustainable (and also provide a small container for recyclables).

A conveniently located hotel for the Colisseum and generally getting around the City. We noticed the rate for our room had been considerably reduced, so asked for an upgrade. After some debate between the Hotel Manager and staff member, this was granted. The room had a good view, and a small terrace. Beds were OK, bathroom was in places needing some DIY and a bar of used soap had been left by the previous occupant and not spotted by the cleaner. Staff were not that friendly. Plenty of other hotels to choose from.

We stayed here for 3 nights from 23rd Jan. The first night our room was on main road, the room was super hot and no air con and it was way too noisy to have the window open so I didn't sleep much that night. (of course we were in Rome so expected the noise) However it was no problem to upgrade the next day and for only €15 a night we had a beautiful balcony room with a lovely view of Rome. Totally worth it! The location of this hotel is perfect to sight see. The only thing we needed to get a taxi for was to go to the Vatican Museums everything else we walked to. We used a great company called welcome pick ups to get us to and from airport. Our driver Andrea was brilliant he told us so much about Rome. We had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we ever come back we would stay here for sure.

The hotel was from start to finish a disappointment. The room was far too warm but the A/C doesn’t operate in the spring, and the hotel fronts a major road so it is extremely loud if you leave your window open. The finishes and overall quality of the hotel leave much to be desired at the cost, certainly not a 4-star hotel. From little things: the hotel doesn’t have conditioner and shampoo, but instead an all-in-one hair/body wash. To medium things: the rooms don’t come with an iron/ironing board, and when you request one they only give it to you for an hour and the ironing board is ratty and barely usable and the iron itself has a cord that is fully fraying and it leaks water all over when using. To big things: our shower broke our last day, and we told the front desk at 6 when we left for dinner, but when we returned at midnight no one had even come up to look at it, and then the maintenance person was there till nearly 1 am, to no avail, so we just didn’t have a shower the last morning. All of these things and the hotel staff didn’t offer any recompense and only begrudgingly waived two drinks for us after we had to ask.

Overall would not recommend to anyone at that price.

I'm still staying in 119 but I already want to evaluate the way I was treated….It was supposed to be a good accommodation, I booked this hotel that is not cheap thinking about comfort, when I booked my room I had informed a standard apartment with air conditioning and all other amenities traditional ones, when I arrived the air didn't work, it only ventilated and the room is the adapted ones so far, so far so good, but in relation to the air, it was too much for me and I was informed that they are not allowed now in this period of the year (April) spring than in the period in the afternoon it reached 21 degrees it is very sunny that they are not allowed to turn on the air conditioning for guests. “Hi” what do you mean? I was in London which was 5 degrees and the air reminding even not being used was available, the reception person still says open the window it gets cooler, unbelievable. Remembering that I'm staying on the first floor and the main street where cars pass by is very noisy. A lack of empathy.

This hotel was fine. The location is near the Colosseum, a bit of a walk to other attraction like the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It's not a bad area, just not all that exciting.

The hotel itself was decent. Like most of Italy, the beds were hard, but that's not a reason not to stay here - we didn't find a soft bed in 3 weeks in Italy.

The biggest negative, like other reviews say, is that the staff isn't all that friendly. We experienced this at check-in and check-out. The personalities of the people at the desk were more abrasive than other hotels we stayed at on the trip.

My wife needed to iron, and of course there was no iron in the room. I stopped by the front desk and requested one, which they sent up. When my wife answered the door, they were rude to her. They asked how long she would need it, and she asked if she could just give it back in the morning. The guy said "No, you can have it for one hour, two max." I wasn't there, but the way he spoke to he made her mad and was a bad start to our Rome experience. We had just come from the south (Naples, Amalfi, Sorrento) where everyone was nice, so she immediately concluded that people in Rome are less friendly. Also, there was no padding on the ironing board, so it actually messed up one of her shirts when she used it (left little diamond shaped impressions that wouldn't go away), so she had to use the bed for the rest of her ironing.

While I wouldn't say "don't stay here," we would choose a different hotel if we were to visit again.

A fantastic hotel in a wonderful location. Cristiano on reception greeted us on our arrival with a warm and bubbly demeanour. It felt like he went above and beyond in providing advice with do’s and dont’s in Rome. E.G. what to expect to pay for a cab ride from the hotel to the Vatican etc as he methodically went through the map presenting to us the sites and cultural experiences at the doorstep of the hotel. He added access to our key cards for the gym on the 1st floor of the hotel. The room was clean and well presented. The mattress was difficult to get comfortable on and me, a side sleeper, really struggled for that first evening to get some rest however when we spoke with Cristiano the next day he arranged for two mattress toppers to be sent to the room alongside the assortment of pillows which we had ordered from the fantastic “pillow menu”. The cleaning staff were brilliant throughout the stay, it seems at this hotel your room can be visited up to 3 times by the cleaning staff. Once, to clean the room throughly/change the sheets etc, second, is then visited by another “sorter” for lack of a better word whom places your pyjamas for example in a neat pile on the bed or arranges your jewellery on the desk etc. It was a nice touch. The third visit then involves the “aqua” I.E. Water delivery! We found no issues with this and appreciated the care in which they placed in ensuring that the room was at a decent standard. After the long walks from site to site within the city itself it was so lovely to return to the hotel and relax in the bar where Ivano, the fantastic bar man was there to share his skills in cocktail making. I personally really appreciated his old fashioned cocktail and his sunny disposition. Ivano and Cristiano really stood out as fantastic staff members and credit to the management of the hotel whom have clearly laid out the standard which they wish to achieve in service to their guests. All the best to the staff at the Grand Palintino. Thank you for making our stay in Rome memorable for the right reasons!

P.S. Breakfast is fantastic.

Overall stay was disappointing. Poor organisation at reception. Our key stopped working 3 times during our stay, bath leaked and door lock was faulty too. All addressed to reception during the stay but no one made any effort to rectify. Room itself is tired, noisy. Housekeeping have not cleaned out bathtub during service at all. One morning was woken up by housekeeping knock before 9… it may not seem too early but we were on holiday?! Working in hotel business myself I know that housekeeping shouldn’t be knocking this early to any stay over rooms… on top of all I had 3 bites on my leg after last night stay, on departure I was prepared to share my feedback but no one bothered to even ask ‘how was your stay’. Hotel manager really need to look into service in your hotel. Won’t be back, and for sure will not be recommending to family and friends.
Only plus is great location, that’s all. For the price could have found better place to stay in same location.

We stay at this hotel in mid-February. The front desk staff were very helpful, suggesting places to dine, ordering taxi service, etc. When we check in our room wasn't quite ready, but they found another room for us which was perfect.

The hotel is located in what I would say is a touristy area with lots of tourist shopping - a bit overwhelming. However, if you walk out of the hotel, turn right and then head down the allies, you will find wonderful restaurants and bars. We had wonderful meals and drank great wine.
