This guest house is small, but mighty as they say. We have stayed a handful times over the past few years. It is a close stay for us as we pass through to visit the Curphey Home, the veteran's home of the Jamaica Defense Force. The guest rooms are very comfortable with excellent wifi and cable. We enjoyed a Jamaican breakfast and we also tried lunch this time. Both were excellent choices at reasonable prices. We enjoyed breakfast served on the veranda. What a wonderful start to the day!

We spent two nights and everything was perfect. We arranged transportation through them, and were met by a reliable driver at the Kingston airport who drove us to Mandeville, and made a stop on the way, on our request to get some supplies. The room was comfortable and equipped with a fridge and microwave. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio, which is shared with another (but unoccupied) room. The weathered wood floors gave character to the room. The extensive grounds are well taken care of and there is secured access through a gate. Guests are provided the remote to open the gate as needed. Since our flight arrived in the early morning, we asked if we could order the Jamaican breakfast and we were treated to excellenty, made to order local food including Ackee, callaloo, fresh fruit, coffee, dumplings and green bananas. The other two days we opted for the continental breakfast. One day, we ordered dinner through the hotel, and the chicken and snapper were both thoughtfully prepared and left in the room to be reheated when we returned after being out all day. It is easy to catch a route taxi to Mandeville, but be sure to note where to catch the return taxi. Look for the Green Gully route, near the Urvill's supermarket. Once we mistakenly got in the wrong taxi, but the driver graciously took us to Fisher Rd and Decarteret Road on his return. Although I can't remember the names, everyone we interacted with was very helpful and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. We will definitely be back the next time we go to Mandeville.

We are return guests and appreciate the professionally operated guest cottage so much. The host is a very special person. The room has excellent natural lighting and a comfortable king bed. A frig and microwave are available in the room. They also provide a free continental breakfast and modestly priced full Jamaican breakfast, but the best thing is they served it on the patio under a beautiful morning sun with a cool Mandeville breeze. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with a variety of tropical greenery and flowers. We will continue to tell others about this peaceful place and come back again to visit. The cottage is near the the veteran's home in Newport and is a good place for people like ourselves to stay when we pay a visit the home.

Great host, excellent quality rooms, probably the cleanest and best place we stayed in Jamaica. And also, Mandeville is a gem that most tourists will miss but its well worth the trip to see day to day Jamaica.

The inn manager was so professional yet a down to earth Jamaican. The check in was an extremely organized experience and we were oriented to the room and the rest of the home shortly after check in. This home is located in a very safe location in Mandeville The landscaping surrounding the home makes guests feel they are not in the city but in a tropical garden. The Jamaican breakfast which is provided as part of the stay was a real treat. The mountains near Mandeville have a special secret-- a cool breeze that lasts all day and night. The common areas of the home including the veranda, the living and dining areas as well as the kitchen are accessible to guests. This is a benefit especially to those that are staying more than a night or two. We will tell may people about this peaceful location operated by a professional staff from management to housekeepers.
