Imagine yourself sleeping in a historic house, inside the old town, in which streets were set from game of thrones, your appartment is charming as an old villa. However some details is a reason for a not so good grade. Despite have to carry my heavy lugages 2 floors up (I'd been 15 days in Catalunia with my wife, so, 2 full lugages), and as it is an historic building, it is not allowed to build an elevator there, so it's ok, but they must put a cristal clear advise in their page as well at booking.com and similar brokers, the fridge was doing a high noise, what was not comfortable to sleep and the bathroom (shower) box is so tight, that if the soap falls, you almost need to leave the box to get it from the floor, the shower is not good also.
Clean and spacious place in the old city, we had a room with four beds, which was great! Excellent for visiting the sites and enjoy the historic feeling of Girona. When you open the old wooden door at night you will have an exclusive feeling of staying in a house from the middle age in the old Jewish quarter.
Just had 2 nights in room 101. We have fallen in love with the Jewish Quarter if Girona. The hotel/apartment is in such an amazing old building. Room 101 has 2 balconies looking out over the cathedral and narrow passageways. The cathedral bells did not bother us and the beds are very comfy. The room was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was pretty funky. It’s a huge room with a fridge and a shower and a old traditional fireplace (originally a kitchen I’d think). None the less, it was perfect for us and we loved it. You check in at the Hotel Historic and it’s a 2 min walk from there. Hotel staff were very helpful.
Stayed two nights early May on train trip around Spain. The check in was to another hotel a couple of hundred metres away. Very old historic building. Bathroom was large but in need of up date. Furniture and bed almost antique but bed comfortable Beware the cathedral bells that toll through the night and Cathedral is metres away. Hotel very central in old town. Girona is great, several museums metres from hotel. Overriding feeling was it really was just an annex of the other hotel. Not sure would stay again hence just 4 stars. It is atmospheric.
This hotel is part of a larger fancier hotel around the corner, Hotel Historic, and that's where reception is. The proprietor was friendly and let us leave our luggage at that hotel before we could check in. The room itself at Casa Cundaro was very large with a nice kitchen/seating area and good wifi. The bed is firm and comfortable. The location in the center is fantastic, so good in fact that we unfortunately could hear the cathedral bells and street traffic basically all night because there is not good soundproofing. There is some peeling paint and a wonky shower door, and a few other little things in the room that would do well with some updating/modernizing, but the location in an old Jewish house is nice and historic. All around a good value for money and a generally good stay that could be great if the accommodation was just upgraded a little.
