The relatively new Hostel One Paralelo opened in 2011 and has received very high ratings from our reviewers ever since. Our guests say the 'cool, friendly and family', with attentive, friendly staff and clean, new and comfortable beds. It's located near Paral·lel metro station, 'super close and convenient to the centre of Barcelona', within walking distance of Placa d'Espanya, La Rambla, Placa Reial and more. We like their free nightly dinners, made by the staff and designed to create a communal family atmosphere. Close Our custom-designed hostel features thick, comfy mattresses, instant and long-lasting 24hr hot water, bright rooms with windows, free Wi-Fi and computers where you can upload your memory cards. We have a fully-equipped kitchen at your disposal. Even better than that is our sunny patio with Jacuzzi and BBQ to rest and chill out from this crazy city. Our TV gets most sports events, from English premier league to NFL, plus a load of new movies. But what will make the difference is our staff - a mixture of residents and travellers with different backgrounds that are happy to help you sort out whatever you need. Between us we've got a maniacal attention to music, improvised Spanish- and Italian-style dinners, BBQs and crazy and innovative outdoor activities so you can discover our city from a new point of view. How can we get a refefund for a direct booking at the Hostel one Paralelo? It has been cancelled few weeks before the check in and according to the terms we should receive the 100% back. Since March, we are not able to receive an answer from the Hostel. Thanks for any help

By now, I’ve stayed at more than 100 hostels, across 4 different continents, which is why I’m usually rather critical on reviews. I can, however, confidently say that Hostel One Paralelo is one of the best, if not the best, hostels I’ve ever stayed at. I truly felt at home at this place and only being able to hang out there once again would be enough reason for me to book another flight to Barcelona. Simona, Baptiste, Gesa, Tessa, Alex, Lea and all the rest, you’re legends, and you will be missed!

I was travelling through barcelona on my trip through europe and stayed at this hostel for 2 nights. From the moment i walked in, the nice guy ( sorry name slipped my mind) was so inviting and told me all about the hostel. there other travellers there were so welcoming, really social hostel, great activities each night if you like partying, free dinner which is awesome and the hostel is close to alot of little tapas bars and within walking distance to major attractions (otherwise just get metro). would definetly reccomend, especially to solo travellers

Stayed here solo, the staff are incredible and get to know you. They treat you like family with the family dinners and play drinking games with you. The only downside is that it seems like a male dominated hostel lots of guys and the location isnt so safe for this reason I wouldn’t stay again. Also it’s overpriced for what you get

After travelling for months on end and staying at countless hostels, I have to say this is one of the very best!! the hostel has a good location (close to a street of exceptional tapas, not far from la ramblas, supermarkets close, metro 5 min walk away, ect...) the security is good (code to enter front door, 24 hour reception and lockers in every room). Wifi strong all over hostel, very very clean!!! Beds brilliant - have curtains for privacy, very stable, couldn’t feel when the person above/below you moved or got up!! All the basic facilities were great. But the very best thing was easily the atmosphere!! If you’re looking for a social hostel THIS IS IT!! The staff are beyond incredible - they’re SO SO welcoming and genuinely friendly. Shoutout specifically to Rio, Baptiste and Mauro!! Whilst they were super helpful and inclusive, they also blended in with the guests and didn’t act with authority. The free dinners every night (tips welcome if you want but not forced) were a great way to meet people and were followed by drinking games (predominantly pizza box and drinking jenga which were SO much fun!) super inclusive, fun, social atmosphere, filled with lots of laughs!!! occasionally got free sangria, jungle juice, chips and chocolate biscuits for free after dinner too!! you left for a different bar and club every night which was free entry with the hostel. you aren’t forced to go out and party but most people did. daily activities were also good. genuinely felt sad leaving this place! made some super good friends that I’ll definitely keep in touch with!! overall a great hostel to party and be social with lots of additional freebies! 100000% worth it!! Had the best time at Hostel Paralelo. The staff and free activities/dinner made it feel like home as soon as I walked in, and as the hostels are quite small it definitely had a family vibe. Heaps of other young solo travellers meant it was so easy to meet people and make new friends. Had friends I met in Sevilla that ended up also staying at the same hostel in Barcelona while I was there. Nights out were also super fun but still had a chill vibe to them. Definitely staying again!

First off the property is extremely neat and clean. Each bed comes with an outlet (or two) next to your pillow, a think curtain for privacy, and a night light. The staff is Amaaaazing!!! They are super sweet and always ready to help. Free dinner together is super fun plus always really tasty. Book your stay today!

This is definitely a social hostel!! The people who work here are incredibly friendly and social! You will feel like you’re with friends. I was traveling alone in Barcelona but loved talking with staff. I ended up extending a few more nights than anticipated. Great for a younger age—mid 20s because they go out every night. But also great for everyone as they have day tours too and daily dinner.

I had a great time here. The daily activities are great and allow you to explore the city with a guide and with people from the hostel. The rooms are comfortable and clean and allow for privacy. Everyone working at the hostel was also really warm and friendly, as well as accommodating whenever something was needed. A special shoutout to Jo, Audrey, and Francesca who were working while I was there!
