We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at the Barcelo Malaga, we arrived at 02:00am after a 31/2 hour delay with our flights tired and frustrated, our check in was seamless, we were given all the relevant information and our keys to our room, when we got to our room I had ordered a package of rose petals, chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Cava which were nicely displayed on our bed as well as the robes and slippers. We got up the next morning for breakfast and what a breakfast they put on!!! A buffet fit for a King from a full cooked breakfast with an egg station cooked to order to a wide array of fresh fruit , fresh smoothies, cold meats and cheese, yogurt’s toast with jams and marmalade’s freshly squeezed fresh orange juice the list is endless and everything was so fresh and delicious. We walked into the centre of Malaga (about 10 minutes) and spent the day there, there is great shopping there for the girls and loads of places to eat and drink to suit every taste and budget. On our last day after breakfast we spent the day on the rooftop terrace, what a beautiful oasis of tranquility in the heart of the city, we loved our stay in the Barcelo Malaga and we loved Malaga, we will definitely be back.…
Location - The hotel is located in an easily accessible location (in the same building as the main railway station of Malaga - Maria Zambrano Station). There are good connections to various other cities like Marbella, Torremolinos via bus or trains. Customer Service - I had some issue in my room on the first day of my stay. I sent an email to the Guest Experience Manager - Mireia Blanes. Immediately the next day I was contacted by Mireia and was provided with another room to my satisfaction. Never seen such a swift action from a manager in any other other hotel. Breakfast - Really good spread with many choices. All the breads and croissants were also fresh. Huge variety of fruits to choose which is hard to find in many other hotels.
Hotel is situated at the railway station so easy for both trains and metro - no noise from trains. Handy taxi rank outside. Our average taxi fare was 5 Euros. Rooms great and customer service excellent. Had noisy neighbours and changed rooms - no problem and received a lovely note from the hotel with a complimentary bottle of Cava. Also, Best buffet breakfast that I’ve seen on my travels to date. Roof top pool area but can get quite crowded later in the day or with people just there for the weekend. In the hotel itself there is a fun Shute to slide down from the first floor to the bar. Mostly adults rather than kids used it. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I came back to Malaga.
Very disappointed with the hotel receptionist. Our family is going to stay at the hotel for 3 nights (20-23 June 22) and we wanted to surprise them with a bottle of Prosecco for their arrival, but the receptionist was so rude and so not accommodating, asking for our our passport number and credit card number to be sent over an email which is totally not acceptable; we would have been quite happy to pay over the phone but the gentleman was having no of it. We hope our family are going to have a nice stay there, and he is not an indication of the level of customer service they will have experience there… be aware!
We've stayed at the Barcelo four times now while visiting Spain. It's the perfect spot at the center of Maria Zambrano transportation hub. It's clean, comfortable and feels very safe. Most importantly it's comfortable which is what we need after along train ride. Also the staff are lovely. The restaurant is pleasant but a bit pricey for okay food. The restaurant hours are good though.
This hotel was amazing. The decor is stunning and the customer service was outstanding. We arrived a day late for a three night break (flight delays) and the receptionist checked us in efficiently whilst still managing to organise a surprise in the room of a chilled bottle of wine and rose petals for our anniversary. We ate and drank in the hotel - breakfast was amazing, the santa Maria restaurant was also lovely albeit I struggled to understand the menu and ordered way too much food. The slide is great fun from floor 2 to 1. The pool area is also great. The pool is not massive but you never struggle for a sun lounger or space to sit in the pool. The hotel has an entrance from the shopping centre/train station and the c1 line from the airport runs directly here. Much quicker than usual transfers by taxi or coach. We will come back!…
Just spent 5 days at the Barceló Málaga on a city break to celebrate my 70th birthday. The hotel and staff were great. Our room was very quiet and very clean. The station at the hotel is only 9 minutes from Málaga airport. Great to able to walk from the station to the reception in a couple of minutes. Our biggest regret was not eating more often in the hotel. We naturally headed into the city each night and only ate in the hotel on the last night and the food quality was superb and well presented. Wish we'd taken one more meal at least. I have to thank Gabriel on reception for spotting that I had dropped my credit card and getting it back to me in quick time. He was also very helpful at check-in. Thanks also to the bar staff for their attention. Thanks to Javier for helping me with my Spanish. All in, a great break. We'll be back I think.…
Had such a lovely stay at Barcelo Malaga - service was impeccable and the rooms were immaculate with cleaners coming and keeping the room in a spotless condition daily. I would really recommend this hotel for a stay in Malaga! The only qualm was the lack of service by the pool during the week - and the pool music was the same few songs on a loop, definitely recommend taking headphones to avoid getting sick of the playlist if you are staying for a few days.
Would defiantly recommend! Loved the very unusual design of the hotel. The staff so kind and very helpful. Rooms spotlessly clean. Great location! Lovely roof terrace and bar to chill out. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful Many thanks!
We have stayed in quiet a few Barcelo hotels in Spain over the past few years I have never experienced the lack of client service that we had in this hotel to be asked for six euro to have tea bags and milk delivered to our room as part of normal service it's not the six euro it's the principal never again would I stay in these hotels .I don't believe that TripAdvisor will allow this review to be published .
