Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. On no account stay here if you are visiting Weimar. It is near a motorway junction about 6 km out of town. The hotel restaurant is terrible and nearly served me food to which I am allergic by lying about the ingredients. Room shabby and noisy with groaning lift mechanism clearly audible. Terrible value for what you get. Avoid. NB the tripadvisor description is very misleading.
We stay there when we visit the music and dance festival in Rudolstadt. it was only 30 min to drive. The room was nice, clean and quiet. We came always late in the night and the receptionist was always at the front desk.
We arrived a few hours too early but the receptionist let us check in immediately. The service at the reception desk was outstanding – from checking in, questions about our stay, hotel offers, area maps and bus tickets to the check out. We were really impressed, especially with Sandra Simon, fast, friendly, helpful and most efficient. The cleaning staff was friendly and helpful too. The room was OK size wise with functional furniture and quiet. The bathroom though was on the small side with a shower cubicle that had rust around the bottom edges and a shower head with insufficient water pressure. We found 3 soft pillows for 2 people but got another one on request the next day. The mattress was sunken in and could have been firmer. The carpet had some stains. Breakfast was somewhat disorganized because the kitchen service seemed to be inadequate. We had to wait for one thing or another (cold cuts, cheese, coffee, bread) several times. The choice was sufficient. The bar was busy in the evening but the service very good and the prizes were alright. We liked the location as we could take a bus into Weimar and drove only 20 minutes into the city center of Erfurt with our car. One evening we ate at the Greek restaurant next door which we recommend too. We enjoyed our stay which was very economic too and would come back at any time.…
Very tired, dated main rooms, grounds overgrown. Old carpet in room full of blatant stains. Beds very, very low to ground....impossible for disabled to get in and out. Bath, shower narrow. Could not turn around! Towels stained, worn, thin. Breakfast at 12euros not worth it...stale rolls, runny eggs. Grocery next door somewhat redeeming feature! Far out of Weimar for tourists. Parking free, but watch tour buses idling under window....
Stayed here for one night and had room service which was good and fair price, breakfast wasn’t expensive but wasn’t special just average. Rooms are ok but a little tired and I had a room around back above kitchen so you hear doors slamming late at night and early morning and delivery lorries in morning. Went for a run through woods nearby which was nice and the car park was free so maybe I’ve been a bit harsh
