Looking at the map it may look a bit far away from downtown Jena, but trams stop 100m from the hotel and getting to town is just a 3 stops (7’) ride. Together with the room key they give you a free pass for local public transportation for the whole duration of your stay. Breakfast is included (good buffet) and during the week you have free access to buffet dinner, I cannot say how it is cause I did not eat at the hotel. Rooms are clean and even large for the price. The only negative comment is about WiFi , poor, very unstable, almost useless.

We were satisfied with our stay. We had a split stay. First a 4 nighter. They ran out of double occ rooms so we were upgraded to family suite on the third floor. Roomy, modern (for European standards). Mattresses were a bit hard and had that European divide in it so you kinda fall into a hole if you're tryin to cuddle a bit before bedtime. Family suite had a marital bed and a bunk bed divided by a table and a bathroom so you could have some privacy if you were to travel with kids. Bathroom is VERY small ( think cruise ship). My knees were touching the opposing wall when sitting on toilette. Nice tv and plenty of table space. I didn't see a fridge. No safe in closet but closet room plenty. Windows you could open and curtains were able to be closed. No a/c or ceiling fan which makes it VERY difficult to sleep when it's 85• outside, even with the windows open. Heating avail though when you come during colder months. Wifi you have to pick up a code every day from front desk OR if you ask they will give you one all the way thru check out date. Wifi only works in lobby and on first floor, the higher up you go, the less coverage you get, having been on the third floor we had no coverage except when sitting on the toilette (seriously). We asked about it at front desk and they admitted that the higher you go, the more impossible it is to get coverage. Okay. Staff 5 stars!!!! Everyone was so very friendly and helpful and spoke fluent English. Monday thru Thursday DINNER is included!!!! How awesome! 4,5 dishes to chose from, even meatless options, great German local home cooking, salad buffet and deserts. Tasted GREAT! They also have a bunch of meeting rooms for rent. Breakfast (extra €) is excellent and plentiful with hot and cold options Hotel was clean and modern. Second leg we requested ground floor (see wifi reasons). They were out of a marital bed (huh?) so my husband and I had to sleep in separate beds for 4 nights. The non family suite rooms are extremely small and there wasn't enough room to push the two beds together (they were at a 90• angle). By then, the weather was 90• outside which made us difficult to sleep without air movement or ceiling fan. BIG PLUS: ask for a transportation card at front desk and all you public bus and street tram fares are FREE for duration of your stay! So cool. …

The rooms are clean and comfortable; the bathrooms typical German hotel size, but usable; the hotel offers complimentary dinner Monday through Thursday (some nights are were better than others, but generally excellent); the wifi, unfortunately, was spotty in the second floor and almost none existent in the third, but FREE; and they offer complimentary street car & bus pass for the stay's duration. The staff was always kind and helpful - NO service issues whatsoever. There is plenty of parking available and the hotel is less than 100 meters or so to the street car and bus Haltestelle. The city center is ten minutes or less with the street car. Highly recommended if staying in Jena.

Believe this is synonymous with the 'Am Stadion' Hotel, in which case, as a fairly frequent former guest, I can sing its praises. The tram stop for Jena City Centre is just a brief stroll away, and the rooms are very clean and modern - not the ultimate in luxury, but perfectly adequate. Breakfasts and evening bar / meals are perfectly adequate too, and represent excellent value. Highly recommended for any visitor to Jena.
