Behind the historical facade of the former exhibition building in the city centre of Leipzig, the guest will find a truly modern luxury hotel, the Steigenberger Grandhotel Handelshof. The spacious rooms and suites have no comparison anywhere in Leipzig, as is the case with the large lobby bar, wine store and the Brasserie Le Grand. In addition to planning time for an extended stroll through the adjoining Grimmaische Strasse and Leipzig's pedestrian zone, the guest should be sure to reserve a couple of hours to be spend in the spacious fitness and wellness area. The function rooms on the conference floor are ideal for both international conferences and private occasions. Music lovers will appreciate the short distances to the concert halls of the city such as the Gewandhaus, Leipzig's concert hall, the opera house or St. Thomas Church. Also other landmarks and famous places of interest in and around the town hall square and the Naschmarkt can be reached easily on foot.

Unfortunately I do not recommend, this hotel can certainly not be compared with hotels of the same name. In the room for 2 one soap and one shampoo with conditioner, no sewing kit. Slippers both right instead of right and left. Single beds pushed together, said to have no king size bed. Non-Comfy synthetic blankets. The air conditioning did not work very well, it did not cool enough. The spa is recently closed without notice. The Gym -the light doesnt work. Air conditioning in the hotel is off. Very hot in the entrance And bar. One of the rooms was never topped up with water. The employee entered the room twice without ringing and opened it himself, and when he got inside he asked if Can come in And check the bar. ?! Breakfast by order, no difference whether for 4 or 1, you get 3 plates with cheese, ham, one slice of salmon, and 4 buns and 1 croasant. The menu is only in German language .Breakfast takes a long time so count on at least an hour. Stingy Like hell - you order mushroom And get maybe 1 sliced mushroom at all. No vegetable , no salad. Mystakes by taking orders , forgeting what you ask for etc. Also be careful before checking out, before 11:00, the door will be locked automatically so that you can no longer get into the room, and in addition, the status will change from dont disturb to make up my room. Finally, an employee standing in front of the hotel tries to interview you about your vehicle instead of helping you with the suitcases you are holding. 1 star for location, 1 star for purity, Otherwise not the worth to visit

Excellent location next to Leipzigs town hall. Warm and formal correctly welcome, reasonable and clean room standards, bath room was comparably small, single washbasin only. The nice bar could almost not be used since early closing (22:00h) probably due to Covid-19 restrictions. Friendly staff here!

Good points: - Beautiful old house, recently refurbished, with an impressive lobby - Located right in the middle of the old city centre, near the old City Hall (many restaurants and shops nearby, including the famous Auerbachs Keller) - A special mention for the reception desk: extremely polite and customer-oriented people (they even bought something for me from a veterinarian cabinet); the bell boys were also very efficient and knowledgeable, with very good English (one was in fact English) - Large and well-appointed Room and bathroom Not so good points: - You could not manage heating in the bathroom, which was rather cold (fortunately it wasn’t so cold outside !) - Breakfast was quite limited in options for a 5-star hotel - The breakfast room was quite sombre, in dark colours, with heavy chairs, although I liked the decoration with musical instruments - Deficient concierge desk (not very professional or knowledgeable)

I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel was booked for me so had no choice but it is one of the nicest I have stayed in. All staff very helpful and attentive. Excellent breakfast but at £28 it should be. The bed was comfortable and the standard room I was in was very well appointed and spacious. Luxury hotel standards as expected with turndown service and shoe polishing. There is free water in the room and iron and board readily available. The hotel is just off the main square and walking distance to tram and train station. Taxis can be called and also valet parking.
