I decided to spend some days at this hotel together with my family during autumn holidays for 10 days and must say best decision ever. From check in the employees very kind and professional always smiling and willing to help. We decided to have dinner at the new restaurant The Duchy and wow!! , the food is magnificent!!! The ambiance, decoration and taste of food was to die for but best of all is the attention to detail in the service you get from the waiters. I specifically loved my entrecôte steak and the chef salad I can highly recommend Our table waiter was called Torsten , very lovely and friendly guy we really got on well. We shall for sure be coming back to celebrate my wife's birthday on 05th November! The rooms are impeccable condition, and very very clean something that is important during corona times.…
Pros - -Everything very clean -Large room -Good location -Friendly staff Negatives -Concierge wasn't very proactive. I first asked for a restaurant recommendation by the river and was told to go to the Grill House which was no where near the river. Second asked to book a specific Thai restaurant. It wasn't available which of course isn't there fault. But I wasn't given any other recommendations and just told it wasn't available. I would have at least expected them to offer some suggestions proactively. - The Maître D' at the lounge/restaurant was quite rude. He wouldn't even let me up the steps until i showed him my room key even after explaining I was a hotel guest and was simply trying to get to room. He physically blocked my entrence. It was very off putting and not at all welcoming. He apologised once I showed him a room key. -Room technology is showing its age and not working correctly. Room is controlled by touch screens of which only 1/2 of worked when we checked in and the other broke on the last night. This meant we couldn't control lighting, curtains and air con, was offered a new room but didn't change due to being 10pm at night. We switched off the room manually using the switch board. This should be checked before guests check in. -Spa and Pool area is bookable at the moment so due to Covid. We booked an hour and slot and somebody else was using the facilitates at the time we booked. No one was manning the door and we didn't want to share a sauna so we left. -Breakfast restaurant was full and we had to sit out in the lobby. I am not sure if all the diners were hotel guests but it would have been nice to give in house guests priority seating first. -No self service coffee was available in the living room due to covid which is totally fine. It would have been nice if the staff member proactively offered coffees and tea as a replacement. Overall it was an okay hotel but nothing special. Having stayed at the Capella in Singapore It definitely doesn't live up to the same standard.…
Beautiful hotel in fantastic location. Very quiet, superb mattresses, very good bar and outstanding service. Staff makes you feel very welcome. You must try the Restaurant in the Hotel (Duchy). We have been kindly upgraded to a suit which was very luxurious and spacious.
Pleasant stay with helpful staff in a great location. Good quality room with a lot of space and well arranged. Didn’t get a chance to use most of the facilities, but staff did offer to help arrange and make sure I was well looked after.
We spent one night here on our way home and wished we could stay longer! The staff were great and so helpful! The „Living Room“ area is really neat to relax and have a complimentary coffee or soda. Everything was very high tech and the safety protocol was excellent. The front desk staff greeted us by name and showed us to our room. We ordered dinner in the Lobby Lounge - it was awesome! My husband had the salmon and I had the spinach salad. We each got dessert too. Our server was wonderful and let us practice our German. We had the best sleep. My husband used the control panel to close the curtains and turn off the lights and the temperature was perfect. The next morning we had breakfast in the Duchy. What a nice restaurant. The breakfast included with our room was excellent and the server again was so nice. After we checked out, the Porter got our car and was so nice to our daughter. He made her a balloon and got us all a bottle of water for the trip home. We loved our stay and will definitely be back …
