One night at this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom very clean. Good Continental buffet breakfast. Bed linen clean, bed comfortable. Woken early by doors slamming shut - that was the only downside. Would be good if there was a way to make doors closing less noisy.

Umpteenth time staying in this reliable Ibis hotel. Rooms are very Ibis typical, no tea/coffee facilities. Restaurant and bar are some of the best i've used in an Ibis. Only complaint is the advertising of LCAH (now ALL) for food &beverage purchases but this being refused when I came to pay.

Booked IBIS at Hamburg Airport trough Hotels.com at 23.20. Got to the hotel at 02.15. Giving the hotel, who has accepted the booking, 3 hours preparation time. When arriving at the hotel there was an two guys in reception and bar. Thay were not friendly, but we got our keys. I booked a double with two single beds. When we get to the room, the room is very cold, well we turn on the heating. We want to go straight to bed, but the one bed has no pillow and no comforter. I call reception. And get an order. I MUST come down to reception if I want a pillow and a comforter. I challenge this by asking if IBIS is a hostel? I get tha anser from front desk, this is not his problem, and if I want a pillow and no comforter I can come down. I find this so ridicules because of the way the man is addressing me that I want to show the way this clown is doing his job to his boss. So to have proof of his rude behavior, I turn on my cell phone and film the guys. What I don’t know is. This is for some reason not allowed in the free country of Germany. So the problem with me having booked a double room, and not having a pillow and no comforter for one of the beds, ends up with this clown threatening me to get thrown out of the hotel by the police. So what happens? I end up apologizing to this man for filming, but clearly stating that I didn’t want to apologize for wanting a pillow and a comforter in my double room. This is 2.20. At 3.18 my brother an me are woken up by the police, kindly asking me to delete the film. The police was finding the situation ridicules they were sweet but they had to react. In the morning I meet with the manager. He was also sweet and understanding. He explained that IBIS has hired a company to do the night service staff, so it was not one of his own employees. If this situation, where power crazy employee had gone mad like this, I would have compensated the guest the full stay (it was 80 Euro). They didn’t! My brother and I had a lousy night. I slept from 05.00 to 8.45, flying out of Hamburg in the morning.

Dear guest, as discussed in our meeting yesterday morning we are more than upset and to be honest embarrassed with what happened in the night of january 22nd. The kind of behaviour of the gentleman on duty does not reflect our usual practices at all. Rest assured that we did take the appropriate measures to address the problem. We already made a refund of the parking costs to your credit card. The only reason why you did not get a refund for the room yet, is because your booking has not been made directly through us, so we did not have the necessary payment information. We will contact the booking platform to make sure that you will get reimbursed for the room as well. I would like to reiterate our commitment to high quality standards, and I personally would like to make sure you will experience it during your next stay with us. Booked a room at this hotel awaiting my flight in the morning. I have stayed here a couple of times since it is very convenient located near the airport. The price is very decent taking into account that this is Hamburg. What differs this hotel from other IBIS hotels that I have stayed in is the interior in the main public rooms. A nice bar and restaurant where the food is of a good German quality. Not overpriced. Of course don’t expect a five star chef restaurant but it is of a higher quality than other hotels that I have stayed in. The front desk and restaurant staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are typical IBIS style but that does not mean that this is bad. I actually like simplicity! Clean and comfortable. The location is not downtown Hamburg but going down to city center is not difficult by transportation. So...if you are on transfer between flights or just looking for a good price/quality.. do I need to say more?
