Gunstige preise pro nacht fur ein doppelzimmer mit duche.

The location is outside the central part of Berlin but right next to a U-bahn station, so it is convenient to get everywhere if you're ok with a ~20 minute U-bahn ride into Mitte. It is only a couple U-bahn stops and a bus ride away to the airport. Use the "Liverpooler Str./Muellerstr." U-bahn exit at the Rehberge stop for the most convenience, then head north one block.

Sadly, the in-room wi-fi went kaputt during my stay here and wasn't able to be repaired in the last couple days of my stay. The uber-freundlich staff (who are trilingual if not more!) helped me use the wifi on the first floor.

They have 24/7 front desk service. There is only 1 room key, so if you and your roommate may be coming and going at different times, they offer to keep your room key at the front desk and open the door for whichever of you returns first.

The door is the weirdest hotel door I've ever had to open. The hotel staff again came to the rescue here. Still, it took a couple days for me to become a pro at it. You have to PULL the knob towards you after you hear the click and as you are turning.

Considering the price it is an okay hotel

It is a discount hotel, but you get what you pay for and the pictures on the web are true

Metro very close and you are in the center within 10 min

Taxi from Tegel airport aprox. 18 EUR

Older hotel but very clean, lots of good places to eat that are in walking distance, in the area, great staff, close to Tegel Airport. Remember that most hotels don't have A/C, so be prepared if they are having a heat wave in the upper 80s F in the days and lower 70s at night

We have selected this hotel for it's proximity to Tegel Airport and although the outside image reminds of Communistic era, rooms are pristinely clean with modern enough appliances and comfortable bed. I am also so impressed with the front desk service; our luggage was lost on the way from Amsterdam to Berlin, we had no option to monitor its progress. Mathew Capoea at the front office spent almost 2 hours on the phone for us, talking to different authorities, collecting telephone numbers and dealing with all the unpleasantness of this situation. I would definitely recommend this facility for people who value uniqueness of foreign countries and prefer difference over mass-travel.

I stayed here for just one night in July, but in retrospect wish I had used this hotel for my entire week in Berlin. It's very quiet (a big deal to me), away from the road and alongside a cemetery and storage complexes behind it - I slept great here. The staff was also quite exceptionally friendly. Location-wise, while not directly in front of a U-Bahn station, it is on a major thoroughfare with the U-Bahn running out of Wedding District easily into the center of the city. For the price this seems like a winning ticket. Hotels in Berlin proper are much more expensive. Wedding is colorful and safe, with lots of street activity and some good cheap ethnic food places. Finally, Hotel de France is just a 15 Euro taxi ride to Tegel Airport. I recommend this hotel, and as you can see from my entries on Tripadvisor, I rarely feel strongly enough to bother to do a review. But this one warrants it. btw, breakfast is an additional charge. As an economical traveler I didn't use the hotel for it or check out it's apparently popular restaurant.

This is a very old building. The elevator can hold 4 people tightly with no luggage or two people with luggage. Language barrier at the front desk even for the German speaking family we were traveling with. The door locks are a pain in the neck and it takes time to get into the room. The comfort of the bed is average. I have learned that washcloths are not a think in Germany and therefore not supplied. Our hosts did not have them at their house either, they offered us big sponges????? No air conditioning but the room has a pretty retro looking fan and the windows open really wide revealing a great need for service. The windows are hide letting in much light. This hotel is very close to airport so be prepared for the constant sound of jets landing. The airport does stop at 11:00pm so you can sleep. I want to say again, the room is clean.

The staff was freindly there. I spent a night in the hotel, because it is close to the airport. There is no air traffic at night. The sound insulation of the room wasn’t so good. The bed was really big and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was better than the average. (Fresh croissant and so on)

We stayed at Hotel de France during our last two nights in the city. While it's a bit further out, the hotel is conveniently located to an U Bahn station and a quick cab ride to Tegel. It's also located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The rooms are larger than we're typically used to and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel staff are also some of the friendliest people I've encountered! The only downside is that there is no air conditioning and there are no screens on the windows. It was pretty warm our last few days in Berlin, but when we opened the window in our room, quite a few bugs got in. Otherwise, it was an overall good experience!

After traveling through Paris and Rome we arrived in Berlin and felt so comfortable in this accommodation. The room was so spacious compared to what we'd stayed in prior. All amenities were up to date, it was so clean, beds were fresh and comfortable. Our family treated us to the hotel breakfast every day and the breakfast was outstanding. This was a wonderful comfortable stay. (Just no AC--in case you're American and need your AC)

It is friendly.
It is in the suburbs with good restaurants up and down the street.
The rooms are comfortable, although in 38'C they were rather hot. But the same was likely to be true of any hotel without air-conditioning in this city..Many hotels have no air conditioning.
The staff are friendly
The breakfast is good. Although no hot food available there are excellent pastries, and lots of savoury items. The jams are like home made with fruit galore.
