I was last week in Berlin and i stayed the 3th time in Hotel Gastiner Hof. It is an excellent hotel near the U-Bahn Blisse-Strasse (Berlin-Wilmersdorf) The romms are comfortable and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. Unbeatable location, directly to the U-Bahn-station and near the Kudamm. The breakfast was very rich with with various meals like cheeses, cold meat, cereals, egss. I think it is ideal for people who dont want to spend a lot of money and want a good stay there in the centre of town.

We paid 49 euro per night which was great value for money.

The owner was very friendly and helpful, as were reception staff.

Huge breakfast, with large choice.

In December the weather was very cold, but this hotel did not skimp on heating and the room was very warm throughout our stay.

The hotel sells a range of transport and attraction tickets.

U Bahn only two minutes away.

The hotel has a bar, at reasonable prices.

Enjoyed a very pleasant week at the Gasteiner Hof. Room was clean & spacious. Shower & breakfast both first rate. Great location, close to all attractions and only a stone's throw from the nearest underground station.
Staff really helpful & friendly.

Highly recommended, a great spot at a really reasonable price.

Hotel is in nice and tranquil district. Very close to metro station and public transport. There are several shops and bakery around. Hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Room and hotel is clean. Breakfast seemed to us less variety food at first sight BUT it is enough for satisfactory fulfill. Not to satisfy your eyes but your stomach. It was good. Front desk is NOT open for 24 hours. But they are helping upon your arrival time. You just need to inform priorly and call the number they give once you arrive. As last word, I would definitely stay here next time I visit Berlin.

We stayed here on a city break to Berlin. This hotel is in an excellent location, easy to navigate to, from the airport and a minute or two from an underground station. We could not fault our room, exceptionally clean, fantastic shower and really comfortable beds. Breakfast was very fulling and the staff were really friendly and eager to assist. I would and have recommended this hotel to friends as it is good value for money and in a great location

Clean, simple rooms. Paid 72 euros for a double (room 23 w/WC+shower). Breakfast OK. Conveniently located, close to metro, Internet café, restaurants, supermarket, Badenscher Hof jazz club, etc.
Only genuine nuisance was to be asked for cash payment - "there are lots of banks around here". Took some time to find one, and German ATMs don't always recognize non-German credit cards.

We booked a quad-room via email. The Hotel is nestled in a older building in a residential area. The streets were narrow but managable and there were always a few parking places nearby. Half a block to the subway and a wonderful array of restaurants close by. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly woman who was helpful and informative. The room was clean with ample room for the four of us. The bedding was changed daily! A small modern shower was retrofitted in a small room off to the side in the room. The breakfasts were the usual continental style with a nice selection of meats, cheeses, yogurt, rolls, etc. The desk is staffed from 8am to 10pm and are always eager to assist. It isn't a shiny new hotel, but it is clean and comfortable and very affordable. I would certainly stay there again.

Kinda sketchy hotel. We arrived after midnight and everything was closed and so was the reception. There was a paper saying we had to get the key from the internet cafe across the street. Even though we let the hotel know that we would be arriving late, we were not aware it would be like this. Owner at the cafe was unfriendly.

The hotel itself is kinda shady and old, has a funny smell but friendly staff.

Room was kinda okay. We booked kinda late so we paid a lot of money since a lot of other hotels were booked. If you can book in advance, choose another hotel. But it's not the worst.

We loved this hotel so much we stayed here 3 times, once in summer and twice for the Christmas markets. It's a stone's throw from the nearest metro station which links you up to the excellent transport system that Berlin has to offer.

The hotel was very comfortable and a style best described as traditional, which gives you the feeling that you are properly in Germany. There were lots of cafes and bars locally which allowed proper immersion into the community, and there were hardly any English-speaking tourists around. This can be regarded as a negative, but for us it was all about involvement and practising our German! We found that the Berliners were extemely warm and friendly, especially when you attempt to converse in the language.

I am sure you will have a great time here and I can't wait to go back!

Viel Spass!

Back to Gasteiner Hof Feb.2011, breakfast is still great with sufficient coffee, milk, juice, hams, cheese, bread and you can get as many as you want ^ ^. the area for breakfast is just re-furnished with new dinning table and coaches. Gasteiner Hof provides the wireless internet connection and that can be connected in my own room. that's great and easy to use my internet phone to make an internatinal call with low fares. amazingly comparing the experience of staying Gasteiner Hof 4 years ago, I found the surrounding area is more convenient to find more restaurants and supermarkets ( one of them is openning to 9:00pm ). that makes me easier to get food or other supplies. I was told by staff in Gasteiner Hof that there's a self service laundry store just 2 stations of Berlin U-Bahn away. that's good way to get my clothes clean. Staff is nice and willing to help. Gasteiner Hof is a great and fare choice in Berlin city.
