Very affordable place to stay in Berlin. Two minute walk to railway station with a quick run into the city centre. Some reception staff had a better knowledge of what to see in the city. Typical good Ibis Room and breakfast.
If you park you car in the underground parking lot be very careful because the driveways are very narrow, best suited for a Fiat 500.

The Ibis Berlin City West hotel is located close to the U3/U7 stop Fehrbelliner Platz. In my opinion the quality versus the price of this hotel is good. Don't expect a fancy hotel, but a clean room with good functioning airco for a very reasonable price. I have no experience with the breakfast.

Not a great start to my visit when I found my room was still in a state of chaos from previous occupants. I was given another room and settled in. The pillows were awful, with big lumps, and hollows; however the shower was great. The bed was very firm, which is not what I like but may suit others. Sadly despite double glazing the room was very noisy as it was first floor at the front directly up from a busy the road.
The room, bed and towels were clean and the hairdryer worked. Probably wouldn’t stay again due to noise, hard bed and rubbish pillows… they made for four uncomfortable and broken nights.

Basic hotel in good location if you want to explore both Berlin and Potsdam.

BUT: 2/3 of receptionists we met didnt speak English.

The neighbourhood seemed safe when we were returning late from sightseeing. A couple of nice restaurants located nearby.

The hotel is a modern edifice close to the Fehrbelliner (U7) U-bahn station. Around 200m.
The rooms are basic, but well appointed. The same plastic bathroom semi-circular setup one finds in IBIS hotels. WiFi was free at the lobby. The TV was a Philips flatscreen with several sat-channels. The thermostat was not connected. Heating was centrally administered. Around 19-20 degs inside the room. The bed and matrices were OK. Sound Insulation was decent and road noise was minimal past 23.00. Breakfast medium; because food items were not replenished. So you got late, you were left with limited choices. Indeed within half a block there is a deli, and 8mins walk down the road a croatian and Italian restaurant. Overall if you get a good quote, it is a place worth your money, especially for a few days stay.

I had never stayed in a Hotel Ibis before, and was pleasantly surprised to find it to be well-priced (in this expensive city), attractive, modern, clean, and with a nice breakfast. The little round private bathroom was a delight. The decor is sort of IKEA-ish, and that was just fine. The bread at breakfast was fabulous. The hotel is near the Fehrlingerplatz subway station, and I found it quite easy to navigate Berlin via public transportation with the able assistance of the many English-speaking desk clerks and their maps. I would return. The Ethiopian restaurant across the side street is an excellent family-run place with lovely service and tasty food.

I booked this hotel august 2004 because I had to stay in Berlin one night and this hotel being brand new was making some good offers.

I paid for a double 42 euros.

As said it was brand new so everything was properly functioning and it was clean. Staff was helpful.

The only thing that might be unfriendly is the location. Not quite near the center but not absolutely in suburbs. I found it to be fine because at that time I had to attend a meeting that was only 5 stops of underground from hotel (transports are nearby) and I do remember that from the hotel to the mail train station there was only a short trip with a bus (15 minutes, direct bus) other than a very efficient and complete berlin underground.

Location is quiet. There is a bar and restaurant inside.

Not being in center of the town is the reason why I gave 4 and not 5.

It is close to tempelhof airport.

Smallish rooms but ok for the price. We were on the courtside side so nice and quiet - although only a few rooms are on that side and the majority of rooms might be different. Air con is basically useless with zero cooling, coupled with rather stuffy rooms - I wouldn’t want to be there in a heatwave. Wi-Fi is patchy and too often won’t let you log on. Completely unacceptable is the total lack of any hot water for the last 36 hours with no public apology or even acknowledgment from the hotel.

"Strangely" - given the hot water experience - the promised email to leave a review on the hotel site hasn't arrived.

Friendly, clean, efficient. Relatively central (Westberlin) location, and very well connected by two subway lines and busses. Room was Ibis-standard, and quiet (interior court side of the building). I find the breakfast ambiance at most Ibis hotels depressing, but there are very nice places to have breakfast at 15min walking distance.

From Schoenefeld you take a bus to the Underground station U7 Rudow. From Rudow you take the U7 direction Rathaus Spandau to Fehrbelliner Plat. From this station you walk around 2 min. to the hotel
