I am a big fan of the Motel One chain, and try to stay at one of the hotels when I travel to Europe. This location is convenient, right across from the back of the HBF and a short block away towards the left. The rooms are not as generously sized as some other locations, and the double-sized bed was way too small, even though it was in the bigger room which easily could have accommodated a larger bed. The front desk staff was very helpful, especially Paul, who gave us directions and advice for touring. We are Motel one members, and had to ask for the free bottle of water after we were checked in by a young woman at the front desk. This should have been acknowledged when we checked in..

We stayed for 6 nights, so opted for the larger room, but it is counter-intuitive that a smaller bed is the only option in the bigger room, while according to the website, the smaller rooms have the bigger sized beds. The bed was really too small for 2 adults, but we were too lazy to switch rooms, even though the small bed affected our sleep. Good wi-fi, but limited tv channels. We opted not to have our room cleaned every day, but had to ask for extra towels after each day it was because they were never replaced. Overall, the hotel is a good value, and the convenience makes it worthwhile. We did not get the breakfast, since I thought 15 euros/ pp was too pricey, and we had to go to the HBF every morning anyway where there were great options.

Really clean and tidy and the bed was wonderful. Perfectly placed for the station and an easy relaxed walk to the major sites of Berlin. Very safe feeling place and you can grab food from the station and the surroundings if you need to. Good value and nice people too, everyone speaks English

Trafficwise the hotel is a gem. Berlin was for me always a great city with lots of public transport issues. Even if you are located right next to a subway or S-Bahnhof it could take you hours to get somewhere else in the city.

However here, you can just walk to the Hbf with ICE connection and go everywhere in the city within 45min.

Everything else just fine. Typical motel one. Breakfast could be a little richer.

I booked a room with a king size bed for single occupancy, then my sister said she would join me. I knew the hotel charges extra for double occupancy (illogical but OK) so I contacted them before arrival to ask how much more it would be and upgrade my booking. Despite two follow up messages I never heard back from them. In the end my sister had to make a new booking for double occupancy for us. When we arrived the reception told us my room was ready but not the other one. So we asked if we could have my room and pay the fee to upgrade (which they told us was 20 euros). And this is where the irrational and illogical interaction started with the receptionist who said she couldn't give us my room because the "bed is too small, there is only one towel and blanket, etc". I couldn't understand why she said that - I had booked a king size bed anyway (all the rooms are the same) and I asked if we could just have an extra towel delivered later in the day. She made it sound like this was a very demanding request and impossible for housekeeping to fulfill. She proceeded to give me attitude about the fact that we arrived too early to check in (again, the room is ready, why make us wait?), and how I'm incapable of understanding etc. Honestly the worst receptionist I ever met. In the end we had to wait until afternoon to check into the other room we had booked - including changing clothes inside public toilets...when my room was ready since morning...when we returned in the afternoon thankfully a very nice gentleman called Virgil apologized and said it made no sense we were made to wait for nothing. He's the only reason I would ever consider staying with this chain of hotels again and I wish his colleagues would learn a thing or two from him about service. As for the room - it's basic and the toilet was dirty from the previous customer. But at this stage I couldn't care less anymore.

If you're a city hopper then this hotel is what you're looking for 👌. The location makes it unique to reach every where in Berlin by using Berlin Central Train Station across the street or the bus stations scattered around the hotel. Most of sightseeing can be reached within 10-20 minutes if you use the metro network.

The hotel lobby is kind of quiet with breakfast buffet is available at the ground floor. The room area is a jut small and not fully equipped (No cupboard , no kettle). The bed was comfortable and TV needs more international channels. The front desk staff was helpful to recommend restaurants and sightseeing and provide more information to help get around the city.

Having stayed with Motel One before, we were pleased they had an option for us to book for our Berlin trip. The Hauptbahnhof hotel has a great location, just a few minutes walk from the station.

Room was exactly as expected, you know what you're going to get.

We added breakfast and were really pleased that as my husband is vegan, there was plenty to choose from including dairy free spread, milk alternatives and even vegan cheese and cold cuts on the buffet - great to see. Very reasonably priced too when you think what you'd pay for a coffee and pastry, say, in the station.

Overall, another great stay and no hesitation to use Motel One again on our travels.

A simple, stylish hotel right by the main station in Berlin. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, without frills. The lobby/restaurant/bar area is trendily decorated and breakfast is plentiful and conscientiously resourced.

Great location, good breakfest. The only problem is that there was not any warm dish during breakfest (like scrumbling eggs or simplu sussages). The staff is very helpful and ther was no problem with check-in even when I came at 13.00. And the free late check out on Sunday (for loyality program members) is the great option after Saturday clubbing.
I really recomand this hotel.

I have stayed here many times over the past ten years. I have always given top reviews. The basic product is still great, but the staff are horrible. To a woman, they were rude.

I had a little problem my first night. It was raining and water was coming through the windows and pooling on the window sill. I need some towels to mop it up.

First woman I asked said, "not my job ask someone else." Waited 10 minutes for front desk clerk. She then asked the girl who told me that it wasn't her job to get me a towel. I told her I needed several. She said, "no." I got mad and insisted that they give me several towels. They made it clear I was inconveniencing them.

The current staff at Motel One seem to believe that the customers' needs are not their problem.

It wasn't just this one incident. When I had checked-in I felt like I was treated rather perfunctorily. She obviously was oblivious to the fact that she is in the hospitality business. No doubt I would have simply ignored it, if it had not been for the second incident.

I will think about it carefully before I come back here.

I liked the location for taking a S-Bahn or tram or walking somewhere. As for the hotel, is is nice and clean, and in the same style as othe Motel one hotels. The hotel does not seem run down, which is common in this price range for a hotel room.

There is a bus going from outside the Airport hall at street level. You will find signs for "Bus" inside the arrival hall. It has 'TXL' on the destination window, and it goes direct to the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). It costs Euro 2.70, and you pay either the driver or in peak periods a seller outside. The hotel Motel One is on the same side of the station, where the bus arrives, you don't have to go through the whole station.
