Regent Berlin is desirably located directly at the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt square in the historical center of the capital and most of the significant sights are only a stroll away. The luxury hotel houses 156 luxurious guest rooms and 39 suites as well as a presidential suite on the top floor of the building. Moreover, many of the rooms, which combine classic elegance with high technology, also have balconies. The tasteful banquet and seminar rooms and the exclusive fitness area add considerably to the comfort of this exceptional establishment. Quality and authenticity, enthusiasm and warmth. The staff members make the difference. The focus at the Regent Berlin is on courteous, confident and personalised service. That is how the team creates an informal and comforting atmosphere, a home away from home. Elegance and modernity greet the guests at the casual dining restaurant Charlotte and Fritz.

I had a perfect and wonderful stay in that excellent hotel. The service, the rooms, the breakfast - everything really fantastic. The hotel is located in the near of all the good shops, restaurant and the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin. It was a great stay.

Hotel's Favourite
This review is easy to write because this hotel Regent Berlin is as good-as-it-gets. First, the property itself is lovely, with marble floors and walls, elegantly appointed molding and paintwork, artwork, and comfortable lobby and room furnishings. I am told this used to be a Four Seasons property 20 years ago, so they've very good bones. What is unusual is the amount of money management has reinvested. They spend alot on upkeep, and it shows everywhere. The rooms are large, kept meticulously clean, the lighting fixtures sparkle all over the hotel, just lovely. The rooms have proper glassware and small china for beverages and coffee. The bathroom is ample with an excellent showerhead and a private 'water-closet' room. Alot of closet and drawer space in the room. On top of the physical property, the service is 5-star superb. Again, it is more than adequately staffed, with multiple doormen, multiple desk agents, a full-time concierge, plenty of restaurant help. This adds so much value; in a week I never had to wait more than 30 seconds for any assistance. The staff all, by the way, dressed in proper business suits and neckties for the men, and proper suits and skirts for the women employees - a lovely and elegant touch. They are knowledgeable, many have been there for 15 years or more. Nothing is too much trouble. We booked one night and liked it so much we stayed for a week! By the 2nd or 3rd day, the staff would greet me by surname, again, a nice (but rare) touch. The main word that recurs to describe this staff is simply: professional -- whether a doorman or a kid clearing your table. As a small example of the outstanding service, I had to work for a few hours one morning and was not able to go down for proper breakfast, asked my wife to just bring me back a cup of coffee and a bun when she returned. I didn't give it much thought but assumed a paper cup of coffee with a standard plastic lid and a small bag with a bun or bagel inside. Oh, no, what came up as my to-go coffee and bun is shown in the pic attached! The second pic is a sculpture on display among other beautiful artwork, and the last is a small item, almost silly - this was only men's briefs returned from the laundry - but wrapped like a Christmas present when delivered to the room by staff! This is one of the finest hotels I have visited in Europe or anywhere, and you pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere on the continent. Good location with 40 good restaurants within a two-block walk in all directions, and some very nice, fashionable nearby shopping too, if you like. Breakfast is awesome with a sprawling buffet of whatever you like, from smoked salmon to meats and cheeses to baked goods or a half-dozen cereals. They have an egg chef in the back who does custom omelettes, hot fresh and delicious. As an added plus, they serve breakfast until 10:30am, while some lesser hotel breakfasts conclude at 9:30 or earlier. The hotel restaurant is very good with excellent service, but only open 3 or 4 nights. I will add that the hotel is quiet, not like some others that have alot of meet-ups or music etc. But, unless you prefer a very 'lively' place, this hotel is a home run, and I'd return without hesitation.

I stayed at the Regent Berlin for 4 nights in December, 2023 as part of a work engagement. From the moment I arrived to the moment I [reluctantly] left, I could not fault this hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, and all I encountered spoke excellent English. I had a beautiful, large room on the fourth floor. It was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. The bathroom was luxurious and also spotless. The buffet breakfast was extremely generous with an enormous range of foods to choose from. My tour party also had a privately-catered dinner, which was superb. The location is also excellent. I can't wait to return later this year.

The hotel is rather unassuming from the sidewalk, but once inside you are immediately hit by the grandeur of the foyer. The arrival experience was good. A porter was quickly at hand to assist with luggage, and check in was efficient and informative. Whilst not shown to the room, I was provided with a brief orientation on the public areas and shown to the elevator. As an IHG Platinum member I was kindly upgraded from a Classic Room to a One Bedroom Suite. The suite was spacious, with entrance hallway, lounge, bedroom and a good sized bathroom. Decor is classic, and whilst on the whole the suite was on the whole maintained there were a few very dated pieces - most notably a stereo with iPod dock and alarm clock radio. The wireless telephone did not work, but there was a second phone in the bedroom. Aircon wasn’t good - with little variance of temperature on moving the thermostat requiring me to sleep with the window open (not ideal as Berlin over new year is a lively city). Whilst both TVs had an option for screen mirroring this did not work - nor was chromecast or airplay available. I didn’t opt for breakfast, but room service dinner was excellent - multiple options for those with dietary requirements, well presented and tasty.

My wife and I stayed at the Regent recently and it was a true five star experience all the way. Every single detail - ranging from the bed linens to the breakfast - was sumptuous. The decor of the hotel is not really our taste, but it is so spectacularly-executed. One simply cannot help but to admire the marble flooring, crystal light fixtures and immaculate antique furniture. We were upgraded to a suite and it was probably the finest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The hotel is also immaculately constructed such that you never hear people walking in the hallway or above you. Overall, we would give the Regent the highest possible recommendation.

The hotel has a very clean lobby, elevator, as well as room. Reviews said snooty staff, we witnessed none of that. Everyone was pleasant, nice, attentive, and took care of our needs, immediately! Very nice front door staff. Special shoutout Ikit for being extra nice to us, and especially making our son feel welcome. All staff were helpful. Always. Room was ready when we arrived. They had an oval crib, diaper pail, diaper changing mat and diapers to assist us with our young child. It even included a small set of diapers. Also they had a small gift for the child as well which was a nice touch. Bathroom was spacious and water pressure was too much for the drain (but the drains worked fine). Water was hot and they warned us with a lucited note on bathroom shelf. Fantastic L’occitane Verbena shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as well as hand soap and lotion. Tub looked great but did not use it. Toilet had its own door section off the bathroom. The closet was big enough. In room safe was helpful and easy to use. Drawers were lined with paper and well maintained. Chair armrests and crib top rail in sections had some scratches that had removed the varnish/stain that if you wiped it off like to clean it (old habit from Covid-19), you may get a sliver of wood in your hand. The King Bed was great . The comforter was too hot for me. More than enough natural light with windows or with use of lamps or overhead lighting. They had two sets of Pillows, both poly filled and foam. The foam was firm and good except for me not thick enough to support sleeping on my side. Internet connectivity was Not great. It kept losing connection and it did not automatically connect when we returned to hotel as it does in most hotels. Breakfast was included with our plan/stay and it was the best meal of the day. Excellent omelets and danishes. Breads, fruit, and meats. Tea was wonderful. If we were to return to Berlin, we would stay at the Regent Berlin again. Great hotel with attentive staff.

I’m writing this review with real sadness. We are due to check out in the next few hours and, to very honest, I don’t want to leave! This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here, and the Regent never fails to deliver outstanding results in all areas. People make think this is sad, but we’ve had the same room each time we’ve been here - the room is spacious, quiet, and totally immaculate. I have no idea how they keep it looking so pristine with all the foot traffic. Housekeeping do a fantastic job both morning and at turn-down. The food here is excellent - we’ve eaten breakfasts, had lunches and dinners, and all of it is wonderful. Great choices, with the food excellently prepared and all served in a dining room and bar that exudes character and charm. The Christmas tree and decorations throughout the hotel and in our room just add that extra-special something to the stay, and every member of staff is welcoming and super efficient. No wonder it keeps on winning Best Hotel in Germany every year in various polls! Missing it already, but hopefully we will be back!

The Regent is pricey, but it is so worth it. I booked a 2 night stay with my Husband and from start to finish our stay was absolutely perfect. We arrived at 11am and I asked if we could store our luggage as appreciated check in wasn't until 3pm. A wonderful lady checked and said our room was ready, so we could check in 4 hours early. Our room was very clean, very comfy and very tastefully decorated. WiFi worked really well and I appreciated the UK plug socket as well as US / European and a USB socket. Breakfast was really lovely on both days - wonderfully cooked eggs, freshly squeezed delicious juice and no issue providing oat milk or other dietary requirements. We had a few drinks in the bar on both nights and the barman was attentive and friendly. Throughout our entire stay, the staff were so friendly and lovely and every time we came back to the hotel, it felt like home (sadly our home is nowhere near as posh!) we could genuinely just relax and have an absolutely wonderful time. Typically we don't spend so much money on a hotel as yes, it is pricey - however on this occasion, I genuinely feel the price fairly reflects the service and quality of the hotel and the people employed. Absolutely worth it.

This is a very solid 5 star hotel in a very desirable location. A lot of 5 star hotels these days are about the hardware and less about the soft product. The team at the Regent Berlin know how to run a 5 star hotel putting their guests first. The hard product is somewhat older (e.g. no rainshower in the bathroom and no fancy modcons in the room), but the whole hotel is kept in an immaculate condition. The room felt like a home away from home. Food offering is of high quality. Breakfast does not offer as wide a selection as some hotels in Asia or the Middle East. However it is still a wilde selection and all of good quality. I only took a look at the gym and did not use it. It is fairly small yet offers sufficient equipment for a good work out. The hotel is in a superb location in Berlin. Just around Unter den Linden and close enough to many attractions of Berlin such as Museuminsel. Bebelplatz and Gerdarmenmarkt are next to the hotel. Rent one of the hotel bikes and make your way through cycling friendly Berlin. All in all a highly recommended place to stay in Berlin.
