Berlin’s newest aparthotel is inspired by the wit and whimsey of the brilliant Oscar Wilde and will delight those seeking a home from home that's rich on charm, personality, style, elegance, creativity, quirkiness and originality. This brand-new 48-room aparthotel in the German capital offers a range of design-led one and two-bedroom apartments, all of which deliver the award-winning Staycity blend of home and hotel, but with lashings of Wilde’s signature style. This means the usual combination of home comforts such as fully equipped kitchens and hotel services such as 24-hour reception, but with the addition of superior interior finishes including natural timber flooring, bespoke joinery, crafts, artwork and soft furnishings, 43-inch smart TVs, appliances from high end brands such as Smeg and Nespresso, as well as luxuriant Hypnos mattresses and Grohe rainfall showers. Each apartment is carefully curated in the most considered, creative, and playful way that’s full of design flair and earthy flourishes, and with a contemporary, sophisticated aesthetic. Furthermore, with Wilde being proudly Irish-owned, each apartment is a showroom for some of Ireland’s most talented independent businesses, artists, crafters and more, while the walls of the communal areas are adorned with contemporary Irish photography sitting alongside local inspired pieces. But rest assured, the Wilde design is never at the expense of functionality, efficiency and practicality. All your needs are met if not exceeded at Wilde. Just in the utmost style! Whether travelling to Berlin alone or in company, for business or leisure, for short term or long, there’s no finer or more stylish place to escape, relax, refuel, work and play than Wilde. Because life is too short for ordinary. And we’re quite sure Oscar himself would agree. Indeed, it was he who said: “Let me be surrounded by luxury, I can do without the necessities!” Luckily for you our lovely guests, Wilde delivers both.

Super modern and very pleasant decor, a thought through set-up of the apartment (example, two doors into the bathroom so that the person using the sofa bed does not need to walk through the bedroom for bathroom access). Modern appliances in the kitchen, generous supplies of water, tea, coffee and milk. Good views, all in perfect working order in the apartment, good wifi and luggage storage facilities.
Most amazing "asset" are the super friendly and helpful team who work there and have a genuine desire to make your stay as perfect as it can be.

The staff was extremely friendly and the apartments were spacious, well situated and clean. Parking can be reserved for 23 euros a day and is in the same building, which is convenient. The kitchen is well equipped and I liked that the soaps were large refill bottles instead of the small individual bottles since that's much more environmentally friendly. The beds were king size and very comfortable.
The only reason why I wasn't able to give this place the full score is the lack of AC. There is a ceiling fan above the bed and in the living room but it's not very efficient (looks to have been chosen for design over functionality) and the rooms heat up all day with the sun shining through the large windows. The windows open only a tiny bit and not enough to really air out the room, even if the temperature drops in the evening. The room was always hotter than outside. So would we stay here again? Yes, definitely in the winter months. For the summer I'd make sure to find a place with AC.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 5 days. Location very convenient in the east part of Berlin center.
Easy access parking (you can use their underground parking or park on the street although you need to pay it too)
Interior design of the apartments is to my taste very nice, you can see everything is new and clean.
What makes the place even better is the staff, very friendly, kind and helpful people.
Houskeeping ladies also extremely friendly and helpful.
For two people perfect 1 bedroom apartment with balcony ( especially if you are a smoker).

Wow, thank you very much for taking the time to write such a nice and detailed review. We highly appreciate that! It's true, our guests can park on the street although we recommend to use our garage since you would have to buy a new parking ticket every few hours when parking on the street. We love our new property a lot and therefor are happy to see that you enjoyed our design as much as we do, but what we love more is our staff. We're truly lucky to have such wonderful people working with us. You are more then welcome to stay with us again on your next possible Berlin visit! Best Regards Kimon

Overall very nice apartment. We are family of 4 so had taken an apartment with 2 double beds in a large bedroom and a living room with a dining area with a single bathroom.
Ended up reaching at 10 am at the apartment, well before Checkin time. Samoon who was the staff present was extremely helpful with breakfast options and both her choices were very good so we had all our daily breakfasts there. She managed to get our apartment ready by the time we finished breakfast which was great since everyone was tired after an early flight from Oslo.
Location is perfect. For a big city like Berlin to be so centrally located is very convenient for walking and seeing the major sights.
Checkpoint Charlie is barely 2 min walking.
Breakfast is great at Kamps Bakery and Back Factory just 4-5 min walking.
They provide you with tea bags and coffee which can be replenished with the staff at the reception. All the staff were very helpful and extremely polite, unfortunately can't recall the other staff names.
If you are going to actively cook them you might find cutlery a little less for a family of 4 but since we didn't really cook, we were perfectly fine.
The elevator was an issue whilst we there for 4 days . It was giving trouble regularly to go up or down but didn't stop working.
Our bedroom had a portable Airconditioner which honestly was a must given how hot it was!
I wish we had an additional bathroom in the apartment but I guess single bathrooms are the standard everywhere.
They have a laundromat facility in the apartment complex for a nominal charge which we did use.
We had to make some changes in the dates of our booking and the staff on the telephone number provided was extremely helpful in getting it done.
There was a Mundo Tapas bar which had good food, 2 min away where we did a meal.
If it wasn't for the elevator, would have given 5 stars.

First time visitors to Berlin and first time using an 'aparthotel'. Our holiday didn't get off to the best starts, our Monday flight was cancelled and we were put on the Tuesday flight. Sent a message to the hotel and within half an hour they phoned me back. As I'd booked through a third party they couldn't refund the first night (which is fair enough so next time I'll book direct) but they made a note and so when we did arrived mid morning the following day they got us checked in straight away and in to our room. Very efficient and friendly check-in.

The room itself overlooked the rear of the property on the 5th floor which meant it was super quiet (not that it's a noisy area). The room itself was excellent, a large double bedroom with flatscreen tv, comfy bed, good lighting, heating, fan etc. The living area was also large with double sofa bed, 2 comfy chairs, dining table and 4 chairs, tv etc. Kitchen had everything we needed and all appliances were top quality and like new. Nespresso coffee machine with extra pods and milk available from reception (no extra charge). The bathroom again was a good size with double shower cubicle rain head and hand shower. We couldn't hear anything from other rooms which is great and the hotel was full at the time. No complaints at all.

The location is perfect for tourists, 2 minutes from checkpoint Charlie, we walked to virtually all the main sites and the area felt safe at all times. Plenty of food options within a 10 minute walk, supermarkets, bars, coffee shops... We really didn't find any issues!

We had an amazing stay at the Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity - Checkpoint Charlie. The amount of space you get is more than worth the money. We loved having a living area and a kitchen to come back to after a long day. The beds were pretty comfortable and the rooms had blackout blinds which were a great feature. The location was great. You're steps away from Checkpoint Charlie and museums, as well as tons of coffee shops and restaurants. There was also a train stop steps away. This hotel provides a great value and we would definitely stay again.

Excellent hotel! Check-in was efficient and there was always friendly reception staff in the lobby and on WhatsApp available to help with anything. Guests are able to help themselves to fresh towels and supplies as needed, which we much prefer to most hotels where you need to call and wait for things to be delivered to your room. We had a one bedroom which had two balconies, and it was modern, clean and well equipped. We absolutely loved our view directly onto the beautifully treed courtyard. The location is perfect and easy to find, since many signs point to Checkpoint Charlie which is only a few minutes walk away.

Stayed on the 5th floor with a family of 4. Apartment is brand new with well working airco and very comfortable beds => guaranteed you will sleep well !!. Reception staff also very nice. Only thing that we did not understand is the fact you have to ask for basic things like an extra bottle of water or towels. We were 4 and still had to ask for 2 big towels (only 2 in the room) and extra water (beyond the 2 bottles received) while staying for 4 nights. This is a bit of a shame given the standard you would expect at this price.

The entrance is almost hidden along a row of other shops and businesses: it's right next to Trabiworld and in the shadow of the Welt balloon. The concierge on duty as we arrived was friendly (they all were) and we were given a quick overview of the facilities. The foyer area has cupboards with towels, toilet rolls, coffee pods etc. We were there over Easter, and every day there were rabbit shaped breads and chocolates laid out to take. We had to pay the city tax upon arrival, bit apart from that, the bill was all ok.
The room was on the 5th floor, and had great views of the local area. You can see a bit of the Berlin wall from the end bedroom and the Topography of Terrors museum. (Free, well worth a visit)
It was a large, open plan apartment. A bedroom at one end, two single sofa beds about halfway down and a double sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen was spacious with fridge (minibar items available for extra cost), dishwasher, microwave and a hob with two rings. Plenty of plates, bowls etc too. There's a couple of Lidl stores nearby, so stocking up for our 5 day visit was cheap enough. The bathroom, and I suppose the flat in general, was disabled friendly. A large, wet room style shower, guide rails in the toilet, adjustable mirror and a seat. None of us in our group require these facilities, but I think it was the only room available on booking perhaps?
There are electric blinds on the outside of the building that came in handy for blocking out the sun (they did make a noise in the wind at night though, so had to be raised) there are curtains too. The TV in our room had BBC 1 and 2 showing, which meant we could watch some English TV in those moments when we were in the flat for a while.
The local area is a mixed bag really. The immediate area has some nice cafes, Trabiworld, a nice tapas place and an Irish bar. A ten minute walk gets you to Potsdamerplatz, where they have market style huts selling food and drink. We were there most evenings, being entertained by an oldish guy who did semi-karaoke versions of songs. Not sure if this market is a permanent thing or was just for Easter. The local area has lots of shops, cafes and museums; with bits of the original wall in places. The Mall of Berlin is good too. We did a free walking tour with Sandemans that started at the Brandenburg Gate, well worth it.
The Checkpoint Charlie dude is a bit sketchier. The Kochstaße UBahn is that wjay, and closest to the apartment; as well as the Lidl. There are signs on shops there that say beware of pickpockets, and it does feel slightly less touristy than Potsdamerplatz.
Overall, a great stay. Lovely apartment, friendly concierges, quiet, clean and well located.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Berlin with my husband and daughters, both age 12. We stayed at the Wilde Aparthotel Checkpoint Charlie in a 2 BR apartment based on the great reviews and loved it - the location was great, being in fairly close walking distance to many important sites in Berlin, the staff (thanks Emanuel!) friendly and helpful, and the apartments spotlessly clean and exactly what we needed for our family, with comfortable beds, an interesting view (we could see the Topography of Terror and Checkpoint Charlie from the cool protruding window boxes and our bedroom), and very strong wifi. We loved having the kitchen, which was well-stocked (Nespresso machine with pods and milk, toaster, kettle, microwave, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer), and there was a Rewe supermarket about 5 minutes away. We did not need the laundry facility, but were happy that we had this option - definitely would have used it on a longer trip. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Berlin!

Dear Michele, Thanks a lot for your question and interest at Wilde By Staycity. Our apartments are not air-conditioned, however, each apartment has at least two ceiling fans, that help get rid of heat. On top of that almost all our rooms also have a Dyson fan to contribute to a comfortable stay. Kind Regards, Joey
