The Weinmeister, sits in the heart of Berlin-Mitte and embodies its chic, contemporary attitude. “The Golden Cage”, as it is affectionately called due to its matte golden metal façade, is visible from every vantage point in the neighbourhood, alluringly drawing in guests and visitors alike. Conceived as the “big brother” of the well established Lux 11, also located in Mitte, The Weinmeister is aimed at business travelers from the film, music, fashion and other creative fields, as well as leisure travelers. Its core philosophy is simple: it focuses on rest, comfort, round-the-clock service and stylish rooms that highlight one piece of furniture - an oversized bed, which acts as a room within a room and suggests “cocooning.” Despite the convenience and excitement that the location affords, guests are very likely to give in to the temptation of staying in their endlessly comfortable rooms or in the luxurious hotel bar at the end of a busy day in the German capital.

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

Amazing stay in this boutique hotel. We had a great last minute deal and a little upgrade with a better view when we arrived.
The hotel is in a great area - Mitte - everything can be reached by walking or public transport.
I'm fully aware that for some usual peak-time reasons the prices of the rooms were skyrocketing during the period of my staying in Berlin. Still the level of services and comfort not even got close to justify the amount of money I've been request for...More
I booked this place because of the location, the rooftop bar and the "boutique" label. Friendly check-in but the rooftop bar was closed with no info about that on the website. I had booked meetings up there and had to move them around. Ironically, the...More
The hotel itself was wonderful, the rooms were clean, the elevator worked, a small hot tub on the top floor. Location is pretty close to most of the musuems (a short walk through a cool area with a big subway shop) lots of more local...More
