We stayed in the Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West 3 years ago. SO, perhaps things have changed. East Side Gallery, although nice, great breakfast and clean, did not seem to be as professional as the West Side Hampton was. Once, there were four if us in line at the front desk, while three of the four employees on duty were in the office, in view of customers waiting, discussing scheduling. And when they did come out, they did not try to help. Leaving the one person on duty to help everyone. Weird. The next day was different with a more professional crew. The room was great and the beds were just they way we like them. Also, the room, although facing the street, was quiet! Good pillows, as usual. We would stay here again.
Me & my wife recently stayed here for the week for our long overdue honeymoon (we got married during the start of the pandemic). I cannot say a bad word about this place - the staff were friendly, helpful and chatty, willing to always go that extra mile for us. The room was fantastic with a beautiful view of the river and East Berlin wall. The breakfasts had everything you could possibly imagine, and the hotel's location was perfectly placed between to easy to navigate transport links, restaurants, local shops and not forgetting the impressive Mercedes Benz Arena, which I was fortunate to visit for the Berlin Basketball team match, which took place during my visit.
The property is in excellent condition. The view from the room was great. The service was also impeccable. I think they can improve their breakfast menu by having a bit more variety on a daily basis. All five days that we stayed the menu items were exactly the same.
Nice hotel on a very special place the east side gallery in Berlin. Just a few minutes walk from the Warschauer Straße subway station. Nice rooms with a view to the east side gallery and the river spree. Very nice and helpful staff, even with corona restrictions etc. Delicious breakfast buffet. I hope I can come back again one day.
Nice hotel to stay at, right next to the East Side Gallery. We stayed in a Queen room, overlooking the river and the gallery on the 7th floor. View was good, but the room was perhaps a bit small. Reasonably basic room with not much storage, but it was clean and comfortable. No fridge, but hairdryer, kettle, safe, and usual amenities provided. Great plug points in good locations including USBs. The air conditioning had a habit at night of sounding like a toilet refilling, but didn’t do it any other time of day, which became annoying. The aircon wasn’t switched on at any point. Possibly just this room rather than any others? Breakfast options were pretty decent, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Luggage storage was available which was great given we had a late flight. The main issue was there was no way of refilling water, apart from one water dispenser in the gym in the basement. Either that or you would need to use the bathroom or pay for polluting plastic bottles. Water points should be standard in hotels. The location might look a little far on a map, but your friend will be the 300 bus right outside the hotel. There is one every 10 mins in both directions. Goes to the main train stations (only 2 stops in either direction) for connections across the city and direct to the airport, but also goes through a lot of the major spots in Berlin. The bus can be used with a standard BVG U/S Bahn ticket, and is pretty quiet and reliable. So even though you’ll feel a little away from sights and the subway/train, you can easily and quickly get to where you need to go.…
Overall a nice hotel. Our issue was the room was small. Maybe a problem if traveling with small kids. However, breakfast was great, location was near our son and there was onsite parking for a fee. Front desk staff were very helpful.
Stayed for 4 nights in November 2021. The hotel is fresh, clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast is spot on, highly recommended. The staff were very professional and warm. I can't fault it and i'll be staying here again. Thank you
There is nothing to fault with this hotel! The check in was great, Stuart was awesome, we got in a bit earlier and to our surprise or rooms were ready, every single member of staff we have encountered was so nice and attentive, the beds are massive and so comfortable, the hotel is close to everything, great area with amazing bars and restaurants, will be definitely back, thank you all for an amazing stay
Stayed 2 nights. We booked connected rooms. The rooms are very small but they have everything. Kettle, coffee/tea, body shampoo, hair shampoo, conditioner, tv (only German programs), hair dryer, etc. The hotel is simple, rooms have no views, but very conveniently located. The restaurant where we had our breakfast (which is included in the room rate) looks out to the street and the Berlin wall with all the murals. The breakfast spread is very wide and excellent. The hotel is 5-10mins walk to the East Side Mall (which is closed on Sundays) which has 2 large supermarkets etc, and there are several Western, Asian and fast food restaurants at Mercedes Platz. The hotel is near the Wall Museum, which is small but interesting. There is a bus in front of the hotel which took us directly to Brandenburger Tor and the Berlin Cathedral. The staff is friendly. There is no coin-operated washer/dryer in the hotel but there is a fitness gym. …
Nice affordable hotel close to wall, trainstation to flughafen, subway or bus to City, mall and Mercedes platz ( concert venue with like 12 restaurants on the square ) around the corner Excellent breakfast, perfect AC. Windows closed at night is a must while there is a big mainroad in the neighbourhood, and police and ambulance take everey chance to use their REALLY LOUD horns. Only after a day you are aware that there is no uprising-of-the-masses, or that you are NOT in a really bad neighbourhood.
