Our expectations for the celebration of my wife’s birthday where high and they completely screwed up. As for me stays in hotels of this category are all about experience. What we got here was a bit of pre-opening feeling of a place where processes and procedures are not working yet as they should. The point where I seriously get angry is when staff tells me BS or lies in my face. I guess you guys can do better. Anyway they successfully managed to not even mention the birthday of my wife for a single time in 3 days. Congratulations even 3 star hotels are able to outperform that. Besides I don’t get why a hotel of this category still feels like they have to rip people off with ridiculous minibar prices. I also don’t get why they have to be stingy with drinking water. One 500ml bottle for two people? I guess we should have been grateful, is it?…
I was enjoying every minute during my stay here. It was my second time visiting this hotel for the New years evening and it is a recommendation if you want to rest and enjoy the amazing nature and beauty of Kempinski hotels.
We stayed for a week to indulge ourselves in breathtaking views from our terrace room, a daily delicious breakfast (handled very well despite Covid), enjoyed the modern yet fitting design of the entire premises and basically walked on clouds throughout our stay. The staff was attentive, helpful and always greeted us with a warm smile of the eyes. Despite their masks we could feel their warmth and professionalism. The Spa and Gym area was clean, modern and extremely relaxing with great views (again). The gym was well equipped, even with a waterrower. The treatments and dining experiences (@ PUR) were outstanding. And the Activity Concierge a great asset for our daily excursions incl. recommendations for hiking trips, renting out Mountain E-Bikes or recommending boat rides. We will definitely be back, this was a stay above the clouds (literally since the hotel is located about 1000 metres above sea level).…
We just got back from a round trip at the German Alps; our last stop was this hotel for one night. The vallet parking heartedly welcomed us the moment we arrived, we got there with a big car which was quite packed and our two kids were still asleep, the vallet staff was very accomodating and helpful. I truly wished the receptionist would have had the same spontaneous and friendly personality - in fact I felt like the person who checked us in was just doing a standard job. I have been at many luxurious hotels in my life and usually I was shown to the right room (we were given the correct keys but sent in the wrong direction - this could really happen to anyone of course, we are only human, and the receptionist did apologize 100 times, still I somehow did not feel comfortable). I was given a brochure with activities which I could read if I wanted to, and I was told "here is a list of activites but to be honest you are staying only one night so I don´t know what you could do" - well here is a list I could personally advice on what to do in a day: eventually drive to the old town, visit some ruins, check out whether there are local shops with local goodies, or book a spa treatment. The room was neat and clean, the view is beautiful! Unfortunately it was raining and the terrace did not have a roof, so the entire terrace was wet and we couldn´t sit outside; nevertheless I truly enjoyed waking up to this view. The SPA staff was friendly and I was glad to see there were kids and families around (we have two and felt comfortable). I like booking hotels with heated outdoor pools and we definitely enjoyed this one at the Kempinski. We booked dinner at the restaurant (not the gourmet one: when I booked the room I asked whether kids were allowed at the gourmet restaurant and I was told they needed an approval, so I didn´t bother. The other restautant they have is really good too!!) - the food was really nice, some of the staff was a little overwhelmed and some was extremely attentive. The food was very tasty and I can recommend you book at least one dinner (if not more!) there! Breakfast was great, but due to COVID regulations I did not enjoy the bouffet that much, in fact we were not allowed to pick most of the food ourselves. We had to tell the staff at the bouffet what to put on our plate, and the queue could be quite long. This is not the hotel´s fault, I definitely think that after the COVID times will be over, the breakfast will be much better :) There is a great choice available, I did not see much veggies but maybe I just did not notice. Check out was smooth, we got a little jam as a gift upon leaving. Will we come again? I am not sure, including dinner we paid almost 600 euros for the night and for this price I did receive a better treatment elsewhere; however the facility is very nice, it is family friendly (this is very important to me) and the location is great so we might actually come back!…
Wonderful place to have a calm and relaxing holiday. Stayed for a week and it was to short. Besides the room with beautiful views on the mountain, the hotel gives all the comfort you need. Hopefully you have the weather we had so you can enjoy dinner and breakfast outside with splended views (but even the restaurant has the same views). Great food and spa ... enjoy a few times the roomservice and try to fix a room on the outside of the hotel 😉
