I have written about Bruno and the Hotel Eidelweiss several times, but this year there is a dramatic change. There is a complete restructure of the ground floor and a beautifully appointed new Restaurant. The food and wine list is as good as it gets in the area. Not cheap, but excellent service and a wider range of cuisine from the traditional Savoyard dishes to the splendid Wok cooked Sea Bass ....and the Gambas with the right amount of chilli!

Super meal

I last stayed here a number of years ago when I would have described it as ‘tired’. Pleasantly surprised that the owner, Bruno, and his family still own it and have spent a considerable sum in modernisation. Gone is the Pool Table to be replaced by a Open-view kitchen and there now is a large restaurant open to everyone, serving excellent food and under the management of Bruno’s son.

Food and service was excellent albeit the menu choice is limited but appropriate.

The rooms have been totally refurbished with en-suite bath/shower. Excellent idea as the bath is a must after a long day skiing.

Buffet Breakfast was excellent with lots of freshly made delicious croissants and pastries to complement the choice of cereals and hot breakfast.

The bar area was very pleasant and well stocked

Above all, there is still the very welcoming atmosphere from Bruno and his family. Great to see the family tradition continuing here.

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Stayed here for late season skiing trip with the family. Excellent location and hotel improved by addition of a very nice restaurant since our last visit. Great location for access to hire shops, bars and restaurants and lift/piste. Definitely recommended.

Been here 45 mins - had to walk down two flights of stairs with all our bags and Ski’s - couldn’t check in til 4.00pm.
Booked a prestige “ room only “ for just short of £1800 for 7 nights, hardly swing a cat in it, no drawer space so stiff still in cases, television works but no English channels ( all French work even though English advertised )
Incredibly disappointed - I’d suggest plenty of better places for your money! 🙄

Wierd property, where all the rooms are down a few flights of very narrow stairs. I immediately smelled a funny chemical like odor as I began the decent to our room. At first I thought it was my allergies to the dog that was living in the lobby (I have bad pet allergies) but I started to feel like I was going faint as we kept turning corners going down down down. I make it to the room and luckily there’s a door to outside where I can sit and breathe better. The room is very small for two people and ski equipment. The stairways and halls are narrow and do not have windows That, paired with the smell, and the furry friend, my boyfriend and I decided we could not stay. The manager was quite rude about the whole situation making no effort to understand what about the property made us uncomfortable. Instead he ran away to the restaurant and left the assistant who “knew nothing.” When we finally chased down the manager 40 minutes later, he said it was no problem for us to leave. The cancellation policy on the website was confusing at the time we booked but with the word of the manager paired with the condition of the hotel, we expected at least a partial refund for the reminder of the week. However, almost a year later, the charge remains. So I am here to warn others who may be sensitive to chemicals, smells, pet dander, and small dark spaces, I would skip this property.

We stayed at this hotel in March '05 and I've held onto their business card for this long with the intention of spreading a good word about it. Considering how expensive things can be when skiing in Courchevel, this hotel was a smoking good deal (around 100 euro per night) and was located just one block from the gondola. It has a cute little patio where you can enjoy apres ski. At night, you can return from a restaurant and enjoy a beverage at the hotel bar while playing a game of pool, sitting by the fire, or watching one of the tasteful musicians they select to play on their tv. We loved watching Phil Collins in concert DVD! The rooms are nothing special, but they are certainly not bad. The bathrooms were clean and we had no problems with noise. The breakfast was excellent. Initially we were worried about staying in 1650 because we had read that 1800 was better, but after taking a trip to 1800 and seeing how overbuilt it was, we felt very lucky to have found a spot at l'Edelweiss in 1650. It is a quaint little ski town with plenty of good restaurants and shops. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

This is the 4th year I have stayed at the Edelweiss, we always stay over the xmas and New Year period and cannot fault the experience. The hotel is the best Value for money in Courchevel 1650. The rooms are basic, they are on-suit and they are also clean and Tidy. Room service everyday. This hotel is not for those looking for a Jacuzzi or Sauna in the evening. It's Bed and Breakfast only, but with all the lovely French restaurants a stones through away who needs hotel food. The hotel also has a bar with atmosphere! Bruno and Elizabeth will do everything to make sure your stay with them is the best. This is a hotel for those who are on a budget but I really shouldn’t be telling anyone as this is the best little secret in Courchevel with regard to accommodation, and it is also situated about 150 yards from the main lift out of 1650.

Have stayed at the hotel twice and therefore it can't be that bad as we went back.
The good things
Location ~ as it is only yards from the slopes and lift. There are also plenty of restaurants which are handy as the hotel does not do lunch or dinner
Clean~ the rooms were cleaned daily and the cleanliness was good.

Bad
The breakfasts were not great. Not much choice and you had to ask staff for bread etc
The bar~ expensive and a bit scruffy

Having been twice I would not return and go somewhere with a little more luxury.
