Negatives Cannot check in til 5pm so be warned we have never experienced this late check in all our years of travelling Staff really weren’t that friendly at front desk on check in thought being gold Accor members you could check in earlier but NO…. We had a constant sound of running water coming from the aircon in the wall of our room, I rang about the running water sound and asked to move rooms they didn’t ring back for 45mins but we did get a room change. Trains sound was like thunder as our room was above the railways tracks ( most of the rooms are above the tracks) Avoid this hotel we always stay in Accor hotels normally the Mercures should have done that never again will I pick a Novotel Door card kept failing, we would get to our room on the 5th floor and have to go back down to get it sorted happened 3 times and for our sons room as well. Positives…… We got an upgrade to an executive room instead of a classic slightly bigger and had a seat in it. Restaurant and food downstairs was nice and so was our young waiter.

If you are looking for a true peaceful four star hotel, this is not it at all. The rooms are noisy, my baby couldn't sleep. I wished I had left, but there was no goodwill due to the lack of information on the site about the faults of the hotel. Apparently, it is known and they take advantage of it. In summary, to have less noise, it is necessary to choose the sixth floor and of course an executive room. In short, avoid. I couldn't cancel, but they offered a higher room with less noise. Still problems when moving with the suitcases.

This is a hotel I would definitely NOT stay at again. The main positives about this hotel is its location and is very central to the main town only five minutes away. The hotel was also good enough to provide me with an upgraded room as well. I would also compliment the friendly manner in the way Roxane ( the manager on the day) dealt with me, I have no complaints about her. I have travelled over Europe and I'm NOT one of these people that would complain over every little issue but this trip was booked for my wife's 60th birthday so I wanted it a bit special. Here are the NEGATIVE issues: 1. The main issue is the temperature, the room temperature will not go below 24° ( as already mentioned in another post on tbe 30th June 2023 on TripAdvisor).this person also complained and the way the company responded was to just put out a standard response as explained to me by Roxane the Manager. However, nothing was done as the same thing occurred two weeks later by myself. After a long day travelling and unpacking we too could not get the air conditioning to work properly. They sent up someone to the room an hour after they said they would come, only to say that an engineer would have to fix it. We moved to another room on the 6th floor and found that from 24° it went to 23°, whoopee! We never slept that night as it was far too warm despite setting the air conditioning to its lowest setting of 10°. 2. The following morning I wanted to speak to a manager (Saturday), but they don't work weekends so I had to wait till Monday to get any sort of dialogue with someone and eventually spoke to one of the directors Fabrice Gratreaud. 2. We went to breakfast the following morning only to find that there was no fresh fruit in the bowl, when asked if there was any I was told that there was no delivery on a Saturday. My suggestion woukd be that if you are going to eat on the hotel, get there early as some of the items go and not replaced. 3. I went to get some cheese only to find that there was two flies sat on some if the pieces ( probably laying its eggs for tbe next customer). Seriously though, none of the food is covered at all with a lids so flies continuously end up on it. 4. My wife went to tbe toilet in tbe reception area after breakfast only to find no toilet paper or soap. 5. After explaining my predicament to Roxane, she said that she would refund the breakfasts for the four days we were there which was £€36 per day for a couple and stated that she would refund us the four days which amounted to €144 Euros. On our last day I asked for the receipt of the refund only to discover that €60 was refunded. I then asked to speak to Roxane who was on a day off, but instead spoke to another manager covering called Mathilda. She stated that she would have to contact someone else about the issue. Eventually, the answer came back which was that they were refusing to refund any further monies back. Let's see now, if I get a generic email back, or a bespoke one dealing with the issues raised. Either way, the hotel needs to improve its standards as in my opinion is certainly not worth a 4 star rating.

Very friendly staff at front desk and at breakfast time. The hotel is very clean, rooms are clean and very nice, and breakfast buffet was very yummy. The location is convenient and a short walk from the Old town. Some things to be aware of: Be careful of the room that you may be given if it is on a lower floor and right over the railway under the hotel. When I first checked in, I was given one of these rooms (might have been 306?), However, before even setting my luggage down, the train rolled through and shook the whole room. I asked the very friendly front desk person (Lucile) if there was another room and she accommodated, by switching me to a room at the end of the hotel. The room was quiet, and was a very nice room. Next, be aware that if you are driving to the hotel for the 1st time, there is no temporary parking area in front of the main entrance, for unloading and check in, as you find at 99 percent of all hotels. You must drive down into the underground garage, go up to the card swipe station, press the intercom button, and they will let you into the garage. Lastly, the parking garage was a bit tight to navigate. My coworker actually scrapped the side of her rental car the first time she pulled in. There is a fee for the hotel parking. An alternative parking is available right next to the garage doors, on the right, which is for the train station. Another coworker of mine used this parking and it is easier to navigate.

My family and I stayed on 02/18/2023 at the Novotel de Annecy, France and we had 5 rooms for 10 adults and 3 children (including 2 babies). On the day of our check-in, we would like to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant, but the door attendant said that he could not receive us because the restaurant was full, which clearly was not, as there were several tables free and so it continued for the rest of the night. We were all hungry, so some of us went to Mcdonald's to buy snacks so we could feed ourselves. When the snacks arrived, we started to eat them at the hotel reception, since we couldn't do it at the restaurant and we were hotel guests. About 20 minutes later, the person in charge of the restaurant came to verbally attack us and practically expel us from the place, shouting, saying that we were not welcome there and that it was absurd to consume food since the restaurant was available. Just pointing out that we were hotel guests, not invading freaks. We gathered our things and left the place. Nor do we argue with him, because with uncontrolled people there is no conversation. I emphasize that we previously tried to sit at a table in the restaurant and the same gentleman, extremely rude, said that there was no table for us. In addition to verbally attacking us, the same gentleman started throwing part of the lunch on the floor, which almost hit my grandmother. We went to complain to the hotel receptionist about what happened, but she told us that food consumption was really not possible in the hall, but I emphasize that no notice was posted anywhere, nor did anyone alert us when we started eating there. He simply came straight uttering rudeness in our direction. The hotel is not cheap, we spent there 4 nights and unfortunately, a common practice in France is not to accommodate large groups at the restaurants, which is absurd, in my opinion, as large groups leave large bills. If we were initially warned that food consumption was not possible in the hall, whether in writing or verbally, this situation would never have happened. I swear we almost called the police given the total lack of control of the man in charge of the restaurant. This man has no emotional control to deal with the public.

Very bad experience. We arrived around 9 pm. The restaurant that was supposed to be open until 9:30 pm, wasn't. When I asked about a table for 4 people, the waiter said "it's finished" and almost ran over me in his way to the kitchen. When we arrived at our room we tried to order room service and the lady from the reception, not friendly at all, told us that there was a QR Code in the table of the room that we could use to order food. No QR code was found. We tried to call the restaurant and they treat us as stupid repeatedly saying that there was a QR code at the table. At the end they said that the kitchen was closed and no food would be served. Avoid. There should be mutch better option around. Not a expected behaviour of a 4 star hotel.

In October 2022 my husband and I traveled in France and Switzerland. Honestly we didn’t have any plans to stay in Annecy, so our stop was unpredictable and “last minute hotel reservation online” just for one night. All the staff in the hotel met with “very welcome attention”. I would like to say special nice words about Natasha. She generously shared with us a lot of information about the city, about the history of this beautiful place. We spent great day in Annecy and decided to stay in this hotel for one more night to see more places next day, to visit great restaurant “Irma Bocus”( thank again to Natasha , helping us to make a reservation there). We already came back home to California, keeping memory of our great trip, sharing pictures and emotions with our friends about wonderful Annecy . I am positive, that soon you will see my friends in this hotel with very convenient location. Thank you 😊🌺

The hotel has a good location right above the train station. We arrived early and in the rain which was unfortunate as we had to sit waiting for our room. We were cold and wet but had to sit around for several hours and ended up with a cold. We booked breakfast from 7am (start time) but they only brought half the items out as we were leaving so clearly they do not serve from 7am.

Large clean, though simple, room with safe and fridge. Reasonably comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with very large shower, separate toilet. Efficient Wi-Fi connection. Good reading lighting. Small lifts. Half of the rooms overlook the railway station and platforms.
