We took a suite with balcony so we could watch the New Years eve fireworks. This fabulous city does not do fireworks ! Grrr!
The room was generous, the balcony huge, and the bed comfy. The staff were great. The breakfast 5 star on day one and 3 star day two as the cake was re-cycled from the previous day. The evening bar food was poor and dull. (We went over the road to the Sofitel roof bar the next night and that was great). However, this modern hotel favours design over function. Just one example; the toilet in the room, not big enough to swing a towel, was situated in the lounge area and was 15 paces to the nearest sink not to mention how unpleasant it was for the person using the desk! And, but this was probably maintenance department stuff, the sliding glass doors between bathroom and bedroom did not close by 20cm. It's the little things that make or break.
Great location with a carpark underneath with discounted parking prices via the helpful reception.

Looks better than it is. On a plus very clean! Lovely large room, comfy mattress. Down side: Awful pillows, small European size filled with what felt like foam chips. Mean with milk and tea in your room. Only 2 tiny UHT milk containers, no black tea. No English speaking chanel on the tv or streaming services. Did ask as it says they do have and was told ‘it’s not actually the case’ true!
Nice enough restaurant for dinner, although for breakfast the croissants and breads were stale and coffee awful. Go down the road if you have time.
Pool looks great, however only useable in the heat of summer as it is all day in the shade.
When checking in was told breakfast was included - I did say I hadn’t included the breakfast when booking but was told it was included, when checking out I was told this wasn’t the case and when I said that’s what we were told he said there are new staff and they made a mistake and that it was my problem. Absolutely true! The behaviour of the receptionist absolutely ruined our stay. My problem! As if I am responsible for their staff! Absolutely never had this at any hotel ever - certainly not one purporting to be 4 star. Awful sexist mansplainer - maybe someone could teach him politeness?
On the whole a very clean good solid 3 star hotel. Beach is in walking distance.

Hotel located just above the harbor area in quiet area of prestigious hotel, convenient comuqnue to reach the center even on foot. Next to the hotel there is a parking lot that also makes it very convenient to store your car. Beautiful pool bar.
Rooms are all in all simple but comfortable.
Really a beautiful accommodation

We stayed at the New Hotel de Marseille for 5 nights, from December 28 to January 3, with our three children (ages 6, 11 and 12), and we are delighted with our experience.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were attentive and attentive throughout our stay. The family room was spacious, well equipped, and offered all the necessary comforts for everyone to feel comfortable.
Breakfast was a real treat, with a nice variety of choices to satisfy young and old. The children particularly enjoyed fresh pastries, while we enjoyed local produce and fresh juices.
The location of the hotel is ideal: a stone’s throw from the Old Port, we were able to explore the city easily on foot. After our days of discovery, we were delighted to find the calm and elegant atmosphere of the hotel.
Many thanks to the whole team for making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to all families looking for quality accommodation in Marseille.

The hotel room itself was nice and comfortable however not 4 star standard and was very expensive for the service that was offered. The hotel it’s is approx a 10 minute walk down to the vieux port which after dusk was filled with very intimidating men who constantly verbally harassed my friend and I and also attempted to follow us so much so that when we walked home we waited for a family walking in the same direction to walk with to feel some bit safer and from talking to other female guests at the hotel this was the usual for females walking along that road. The pool was quite small with not many sun loungers given the size of the hotel and the wooden patio that surrounded the pool was not maintained which resulted in both me and my friend getting several splinters in our feet from walking from the sun lounger to the pool. On one occasion I went up to our hotel room to grab something I had left behind to find our hotel room door was left open by the cleaners who had been in the door was left on the latch and I was exceptionally annoyed at this because our room door was visible as soon as you exited the lift and you also could use the lift without using your keycard to enable the lift upstairs. I was distressed with this as anyone could have walked into our hotel room and there was nobody on the corridor to notice anything the cleaners had well finished on our floor and had left, when I went to reception to report this incident I got barley an attempt at an apology let alone getting offered anything to as a favour to try and rectify the incident and all the receptionist kept saying was “ok” like it was not an issue atall!! The hotel Wi-Fi was also not working for our entire duration of four nights. The shower was also not adjustable and the only direction the shower head would face is for the bathroom door which resulted in several flooding incidents.

A shame !
Came with family for the weekend.
Arrived Friday,
We ask where to park our car.
The hotel tells us that parking is available and will cost us 50 euros to pay to the establishment.
We accept and are reassured to find where to park.
We found our broken car on Sunday morning among 8 other cars that had also been there.
Car broken into, suitcases completely open.
Pieces of glass everywhere.
(With young children)
We talk about it to the hotel who tells us that it's quite common in Marseille and it happens a lot on weekends.
Except that we would have liked to be warned.
The only thing they offer us in compensation is to fill out the first complaint and repair our window with cardboard and big black tape because they generally offer that (given the usual way).

Not to mention the Elis truck which unloads at 5 a.m. and which makes a lot of noise. (I wouldn't have said anything but given the hotel's lack of empathy)

I stayed here with a friend for four nights. The area around the hotel pool was very small with only a few sun loungers and it’s a case of getting up quite early to secure a lounger. The pool area is located right along side a busy road. The decking around the pool is quite old and not cared for and myself, friend and some other pool users all got painful splinters in our feet. The pool bar was very expensive, cocktails ranged from €12-€17. The WiFi didn’t work for the duration of our stay. The shower head was not adjustable and points directly into your face leading to water spraying all over the bathroom. One day the cleaning staff had left our bedroom door unlocked and anyone could have walked into our room, the reception staff gave a feeble apology and didn’t offer us as much as a complementary drink for the inconvenience. The walk to the vieux port after dark didn’t feel safe with lots of men hanging around alongside the water and harassed my friend and I and we felt very vulnerable as two female travellers alone.

Very happy with my weekend in Marseille in this hotel, I tested several and it is by far my favorite.
The location is perfect, I was able to do everything on foot, it was really close to all my must-sees (practical because what bothers me in Marseille is really the transport network). The swimming pool is very pleasant, the bedding is very comfortable, the room spacious, and surprisingly very quiet, clearly the promises are kept. The staff is very accommodating and very outgoing) shout out to the very sunny bartender.
I finish with breakfast, an essential criterion for me which validates or not the recommendation: super complete and delicious (don't miss the scramble eggs).
I recommend and will come back as soon as I have the opportunity,
Mathilde

Excellent hotel in a strategic position, convenient to the city center but at the same time quiet and away from traffic.
Bright environment, modern furnishings, very functional rooms, kind and collaborative concierge staff.
Good value for money especially on weekends, with interesting and advantageous offers.
Public parking under the hotel very convenient. Full daily rate €40 which the hotel discounts to €25 for guests!

Beautiful hotel with very modern decoration, in the Pharo district. Very quiet and easy access. The welcome is excellent, tea and cold drink offered during check-in. Parking (public but with a significant discount for hotel guests) is accessible and the pedestrian exit adjoins the hotel entrance.
Spacious and comfortable rooms.

We have not been to France in the fall. I know that you could ask the hotel direct and they could answer that. With family in France I can tell you the weather is typically nice in early October.
