Just spent 2 nights here. Lovely receptionist. We arrived very early morning off the ferry a d she not only gave us a room straight away but accompanied us to it. Room kept spotlessly clean and nice decor with good bathroom and great hot shower. Tea/coffee in room and minibar if needed. Breakfast was just fine...continental with eggs etc. Lady at desk(sorry did not get name) morethsn helpful and tried to book us a "beaches" trip which was booked up! went around corner to Tourist office. Very helpful man could not book us either but booked us a 5 hour private taxi tour next day. English speaking driver who was very helpful and made suggestions of where to go as we were pretty clueless....great day. We ate once in the hotel restaurant and food very good with extremely courteous young waiter. Decor in hotel very tasteful. Great location for walking e everywhere in old town Caen. Parking limited and a little tight so glad we left our large car in Portsmouth's harbour! There is a bus which meets the ferry....1.50 euro. We got off first stop minutes from hotel. It then goes on to station. We got taxi back but the ferry bus goes at certain times to connect to ferry and stops across the road near tram lines where we got off coming. We are well travelled and found nothing wrong with hotel for a city break.

Customer Service exceptionally poor Room not ready after check in time, no shampoo soap or conditioner in the room, coffee and tea available but no milk left, ask for a fan told none available all in all a disappointing visit rooms and facilities not up to standard for the price. Wrote and complain and the reply was even more disappointing than the visit totally not interested wont be visiting again, however highly recommend Caen an absolutely beautiful city.

This is no longer a four-star hotel. I booked a comfort double room to find that it was two mattresses on a separate basis which were not joined together. As soon as I rolled over in bed things started to slide apart. The room is small and dingy, reminding me most of a middle of the range Best Western hotel from the 1990s. The bath is made of such cheap plastic that it moves every time you stand in it and the toilet seat is broken. There is a single shower gel dispenser and some soap but no other toiletries. The hotel is supposed to pride itself on its restaurant and sadly it was the worst meal that I’ve had in five days in Normandy. I think the low point was serving an apricot based dessert where the apricots were completely unripe and tasteless compared to the ones that I had bought from the supermarket just a few days previously. On a Friday night in the middle of the tourist season the restaurant was virtually empty with only one waiter. I just got the impression that this was a hotel waiting to close. Advertising a spa and then charging €15 to use it was a step too far for me. I went for a walk round the city instead. It was certainly better value for money.
