HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

What an amazing hotel! My fiancée and I stayed for 2 nights for a weekend getaway. This hotel exceeded all expectations. Located literally a minute from Moulin Rouge, we couldn't ask for a better location. The hotel is centered around many bars and restaurants and about 15-20 minutes walking from Sacre Couer. The hotel is a minute or two walking...

The style of this small boutique hotel is extravagant - a former pleasure house has been transformed into a dark velvet paradise. It's a hidden beauty near to the Moulin Rouge, humble from the outside, with luxurious interior. Service level and customer centricity were impeccable, quality of drinks (we tasted cocktails and coffee) was excellent. Room service was extremely flexible,...

My Frenchman and I spent 5 days at this beautiful hotel the week before Christmas. We couldn't have had a more perfect stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely and the housekeeping service was incredible. We enjoyed several delicious cocktails at the bar. The bartender (Paul?) was terrific and crafting special cocktails based on my...

We really leaned on the staff at Maison Souquet as we do not speak French and needed some help with dinner reservations and airport transfer. When we arrived very early in the morning from our international flight, we were prepared to not have a room available, but they did! What a relief! They gave us a small historical tour of...

My wife and I recently had a wonderful three day stay at this beautiful gem of a hotel. Located in the heart of Montmartre, the staff of Maison Soquet are the real stars of the show. We were warmly greeted every morning, afternoon and evening. Our small, but gorgeously decorated suite was beautifully appointed and very, very comfortable. The downstairs...

We recently stayed at Maison Souquet for our honeymoon and loved every minute! Our room was cozy and made great use of the space. The cocktails were excellent and we loved the music playing in the bar area. The staff was so attentive and polite. Private use of the spa was such a nice perk. The hotel is across the...

From check in to check out, our experience at Maison Souquet was flawless. The only disappointment is that we didn't book more than one night! From the staff and decor through to the bar and private underground swimming pool...

What a wonderful find!... a sumptuously decorated hotel room with impeccable service. The junior suites are bigger than your average hotel room in Paris and the Salons downstairs, covered in red velvet, made for a memorable, romantic stay. Also, the breakfast and service are first class.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Only those in the know will experience the luxury of the Maison Souquet, hidden behind an understated facade signaled by two red lanterns. The bawdy, wanton legend of the City of Light was forged in the area around Montmartre, a legend of which the Maison Souquet now forms part. In a building that served as a pleasure house during the Belle Epoque, one of the most lavish and licentious pages in the history of Paris has been brought to life. Jacques Garcia has applied his talent to recreating the mystery, elegance, exoticism, sensuality, and ostentatious luxury of these establishments with their own architectural mores. Carried away from the city on the whimsy of the decor, the mind is free to pursue pleasure amid a fantasy setting conjured through artwork, sofas, causeuses, and divans. Perfectly at home, guests see their room open out onto a plush setting where life revolves around the ritual of tea-time, play, and rendezvous before and after dinner. A temple to hedonism, the Maison Souquet is home to 20 rooms, including six suites with unique interiors. ... more   less
