This is a Budget Hotel! For a Budget Hotel you get all you need. The street is very quiet which is wonderful for the location in town and asures a good sleep.
Breakfast is typical french and when you need more you get more:-)
The staff is friendly and yes, it is a good idea to call a day before arrival and as well in case you go to dinner before check-in to make sure they keep the room for you.
All in all I love to stay there!!! and I do return whenever I go to Paris which is about 12 times per year.

Reasonable accommodation in expensive city, nice location with local feel to it and solid with no frills. Hotel is a short walk from the Metro and the walk to Notre Dame is easily doable. Cafes and stores with essentials are around the corner from the hotel. Beds were pleasantly firm and the sheets clean. What the hotel lacks in amenities it more than makes up for in price. Reception staff was pleasant and very helpful. Felt safe in neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again.

We went to the hotel knowing that we couldn't have high expectations. Accomodations in Paris can be truly expensive, and to pay around 50 euros a couple in a room that large, with WC and shower in the middle of Paris is certainly a ripp-off. It's located at the 10th arrondisement, close to the subway station (I would advise to get there late at night from the sub station strasbourg-st denis, not from Chateau d'Eau - the last one is on a dodgy neighborhood). The rooms and the stairs could have some renovations, but the rooms were really clean. Wi-fi only works until the 2rd floor (we were at 3rd and we had to go to the stairs or to the lobby to use it, so if you make reservations ask a room that's got signal!)

Decent place for the price. If you are traveling on a budget its good. Not far from Paris city center, if you are comfortable with walking. If not, go closer. The metro is close by and convenient. As a solo female traveler, I was comfortable. I walked back to the room late one night and had no issues. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. My only word if advice, learn more French!!!!

On the good side: The hotel is really basic, so don't expect anything fancy or modern. However, for the money you are paying is totally worth it. We stayed in a quadruple room for 2 nights and it was comfortable. The room was clean and big for Paris standards and we had everything we needed it, since we only slept there. We had free wifi in the room and it worked well during our stay. They offer a simple but fresh and good breakfast for only 5 euros: variety of bread (including croissant) juice, water and a hot beverage of your choosing (tea, coffee or hot chocolate), which is great, given that the previous day we had to go to several cafes nearby to get a good breakfast and it was 13 euros. The location was amazing; metro access like 3mins walking distance and bus stops as well. Also, there a lot of restaurants and bars in a walking distance. We could reach any attraction pretty easily. The staff of the hotel were really friendly and helpful, another good point, since this is unusual in Paris.

On the bad side: The hotel doesn't have elevator and we were staying in the last floor (5th). The room was never cleaned during our stay but we never asked them to clean it either (since we were there only for 2 nights). The wifi works with different passwords that you have to collect in reception every day, because they change.

If you are planning on staying for a long time in the hotel it may be better to stay somewhere else. For a short trip and a place to sleep, is a good cheap option.

Hotel is one those budget hotels but rooms and toilets were clean. The staff is very helpful even they don't speak English sometimes, but we were able to communicate with Google Translate :D There is no lifts in the hotel, because it is an typical French town house.

In Paris is parking zone and of course hotel is in that zone. Mon to Sat form 8-20 it is €1/15 min. Fortunately, man behind the reception desk showed us quite cheap parking, circa €16 per day. The parking is located under the Saint Louis Hospital it is about 15 min away on foot.

The hotel is in very good location for such prices. There are three metro stations around and because of that you can get everywhere easily, about 30 min to Eiffel tower. On the other hand, hotel is only 30 min on foot form Louvre and Notre-Dame. There are also several city bike station around if someone would be interested.

Just next to the hotel is a small supermarket, so there is no problem with normal shopping. Of course in the nearest neighbourhood there are plenty of restaurants, pubs, shops and bakeries, especially on the Boulevard de Strasbourg.

For sure, if we visit again Paris, we'll stay in the same hotel.

Very good location, near downtown and excellent price, but not so good conditions. For me it was ok: sleeping and shower.
Reservation was made by phone.

The hotel is located in a nice area close to metro station, caffes restaurants and shops (grocery shop just in front). Atrractions are in the walking distance. The staff is very friendly and always helpful - we got the map and the lady explained how to get to some places. Room was not renovated but it was clean. We asked to clean it on the second day as the shower was leaking and we had small flood - when we came back it was all done perfectly. (Re other opinions - sometimes it is worth asking for new towel or to tidy up the room). I would recommend the place for everyone who is traveling on budget and treats hotel as a place to sleep not a SPA :)
