Stayed one night in a studio. The hotel is perfectly located in the old town, minutes to shops, restaurants, palais des ducs and les halles public market. The hotel was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was tasty and well stocked. Only drawback was the wonky elevators , drab hallway decor, and the fact that the desk is closed between 1 and 3 pm. If you arrive early to Dijon and wish to check your bag until check-in, make sure you get there by 1! Other than that, the place was top notch and we enjoyed our stay.
Big rooms with separate living area and small kitchenette. The rooms are renovated but the rest of the hotel could use an update. Our room was on the interior courtyard so quiet enough, even though we could hear the ventilation system during the day. Hotel is well located, right in the centre of the city and within a 15 minute walk to train station. Friendly service.
Stayed on a 1 night stopover on way to the alps. Have stayed in Dijon a few times as love the city but not stayed at this hotel previously. The lobby is quirky and reception is quick and efficient. The hotel has recently undergone refurbishment by all accounts but only in certain places and rooms. The hallways were very tired. Our friends room had been refurbished sort of, as was ours but did not feel complete or of the best quality. Walls seemed hastily painted. The bathrooms were quite tired looking and the showers very old but functional at least. Both rooms has a kitchenette area and tables. There seemed to be some sort of pump that went off frequently when the shower or anything in the bathroom was used. The bed was comfortable. Being a city and the rooms being over the main street, there was obviously noise but this was to be expected. This hotel is just round the corner from an underground carpark on the square which is very useful. I thought this hotel was functional but could have been better. I felt the price was ok but have paid less for better places.…
The city loft gets one point for its truly perfect location in the city center of Dijon. Other than that our stay has left us with a very bad scar due to the unhelpful staff - to put it in words apt for general readership. What happened? We forgot our youngest daughter’s baby blanket in our room and only noticed when she asked for it when we were already on the motorway heading out of Dijon. We immediately called the hotel to explain what happened and that we’d be coming back to get it. Once there we were informed that the room had already been cleaned up and nothing was found. We couldn’t go and check again because the room had been given to new guests. We asked if they could ask the new guests whether they’d kindly allow us to look, but the manager didn’t want us to do that and said he’d go himself, quickly returning and informing that nothing was in the room. We asked to speak to the housemaid who cleaned up our room, but she apparently had left and was not reachable for us. We asked if we could check the laundry if by chance the blanket had gotten in there and offered to do this by ourselves and in a discrete location. At first we were allowed to review a few bags but then told we could not proceed and that the only thing left for us to do is to wait that the laundry was reviewed at the cleansing company and we’d be informed if anything was founds. My daughter cried until we left France and me heart broke for her loss, too. Up until today she asks about her blanket, but even though I have followed up with the hotel in the beginning (and they have never called to give an update whatsoever), all my hope is lost. I was very upset with the lack of empathy by hotel staff and their unwillingness to let us at least use all recourses possible for regaining the baby blanket. Yes, it was our fault that we forgot it in our room when checking out. But if we had gotten time and access for a proper search, we would in the end have taken it home with us. It’s 2020 now and I waited until year-end 2019 for this review because I was still hoping that we would get “this phone call” telling us the blanket was found and would be sent to us (we’d happily pay any service or shipment costs). But, alas, it didn’t happen. :/…
We stayed at the Hotel City Loft for two nights. We were able to park our car in the nearby underground parking at Centre Dauphine and it was just a short walk to this very conveniently located apartment hotel. Our little studio was on the 3rd floor and had everything we needed. A microwave, kettle, fridge, a couple of burners as a stove top and some basic dishes. We were able to get a coffee maker from the front desk so all essentials were covered. There are two bakeries within a 2 minute walk so breakfast in our room was a treat. The location is ideal. Easy walking distance to many wonderful sights in Dijon. No need for our car. The hotel is just around the corner from a major walking street and shopping for those so inclined. To get a better sense of the city, we jumped on the free, city Navette and did the full circuit. The staff at the hotel were cheery and helpful. The only reason I am not giving it a full 5 stars is that the carpets in the halls are a bit worn and smelled a little. Also the toilet was odd. The toilet operated like a airplane toilet with the same suction properties. However, it was not always effective and so multiple flushes were needed. We heard lots of these suction noises throughout the day so weren't sure if our neighbours were having the same problem or if it was just the position of our room. In spite of the odd suction issue, we would definitely stay here again. The location, the amenities and staff are hard to beat.…
