You pay € 170 for a relatively small room without ventilation ... so obliges to sleep with the window open. On the street party till 02:00 ... no police to do something about this! For this amount no watercooker or even a bottle of water .... REALLY NOTHING! But paying € 5 for a parling lot. On top the staff was not really friendly. So a disappointment pur sang!
Carnac Plage is all you would hope to find in an old-world style French seaside resort with a good selection of shops, bars and bistros. Hotel Le Plancton is sited at the centre of the resort facing the long beach. The husband and wife owners are very friendly and with their staff maintain and run the hotel efficiently with pride. Our room was of a good size with an excellent sea view. The bathroom was also of a good size with bath and separate shower. During our stay the temperature reached 34 degrees which in a bedroom with no air conditioning became quite uncomfortable. It would be a relatively inexpensive improvement to provide free standing fans. The private car park at the rear of the hotel is accessible by a one-way road system and is good value at 5 Euros per night. We have also previously stayed Le Celtique Hotel. See review May 2017 We ate at La Potiniere and Le Baobab restaurants and would recommend both. La Potiniere is large and can be very bustly but even at their busy times is still efficient. La Baobob is less frenetic with friendly staff and a good range of food. See reviews May 2017 A large open air market is held in the centre of Carnac town on Wednesdays and Sundays and is well worth a visit.…
Once again we have had a brilliant week at Le Plancton, it’s such a pleasure to be back, everything here makes us feel at home and we can’t wait to visit as soon as we can. If you haven’t visited Carnac you really should, though I don’t want to let you all in on the secret, but hey, share the love, and you can’t do better than this lovely family owned hotel right on the beach.
we use this hotel as a base for a golf trip with most people over 60. the hotel is clean with very friendly owners and close to the main street with many restaurants. the hotel offers breakfast only which is good. There is private parking at the back but there is a one way road system to negotiate.
Warm welcome, spacious room with balcony overlooking sea, large, well-equipped bathroom, comfy bed with plenty of pillows - everything needed for a comfortable stay was there. The only thing missing was hot drinks provision in the room. Breakfast was the usual continental fare but plenty of it and enjoyable. The free WiFi was reliable. The owners were lovely people and showed genuine interest in what we had done each day. Free parking outside the hotel October-April. Location is ideal for visiting the Carnac Alignments and exploring the beautiful local coast. Should we revisit the area we will definitely stay here hotel
