I fell in love with Strasbourg, the city is so romantic and beautiful and the hotel is so rustic and romantic such a beautiful place for our honeymoon. The receptionist (Mrs. Sophie) was very welcoming and helpful what a lovely personality she made our stay even more enjoyable ❤
Under horrid circumstances this hotel and its staff went way beyond the call of duty. I can not recommend the hotel enough. On top of its amazing staff the location is superb right in the centre and the rooms lovely. One to revisit.
We visited the region of Alsace in December for our first experience of European Christmas markets. We started off in Strasbourg and stayed at Le Bouclier d'Or. When we arrived by car, the GPS kept trying to direct us onto a street that was blocked off (due to market). The hotel had previously emailed me an authourization permit to enter the area. We presented that to the police and they allowed us to enter the area. I called the hotel at that point for directions as the GPS was not cooprerating. It was around 6 PM and already dark. The lady who answered was so lovely as she stayed on the phone with me, directing us through the narrow streets to get to the entrance of the hotel. We would put the phone to a speaker for her to give a code for the barriers in the street to be lowered. She directed us right into their driveway where we were able to leave the car for the vallet to later park it off site in their garage. Once we checked in, she made dinner reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant within short walking distance of the hotel (as we were pretty tired). We stayed for 2 nights before moving on. It was a really great place to start our adventure. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with a jetted tub and separate rain shower. We ate breakfast in the hotel which offered many choices. The entire historic center is completely walkable so we could not have asked for a better location. I would highly recommend Le Bouclier.…
Three extraordinarily comfortable nights in this wonderful small hotel added nicely to a delightful stay In Strasbourg. The bathroom in our junior suite was worthy of the best 5 stars we have stayed in, with a Jacuzzi bath and a rain shower that actually delivered water worthy of a tropical downpour. Super comfortable bed and soft pillows topped it off. Friendly, helpful staff Great location. Stay here.
Great environment very conveniently located in the heart of Petite France, Strasbourg!! We had a very nice cup of coffee and we got a feeling of its luxury! Very firendly and helpful staff! Beautiful terrace, too!
