A wonderful castle hotel. We stayed with the whole family for a night. The room was very big and clean. The breakfast was fresh and great. We took a walk around the castle in the big garden. The staff was very nice and friendly. Also they were very helpful regardind our late arrival and everything was prepared for us.
Love it, love it, love it. I definitely do not want to leave:( During my stay I felt like I am at home. Awesome owners, wonderful and helpful staffs, peaceful environment, gorgeous view and chateau. It was a privilege to stay in this magnificent history (where also Goethe and Napoleon III stayed) and meeting its wonderful owners. You will also enjoy the delicious crispy croissants with a lot of puff pastry and a perfect butter balance in breakfast. I love and enjoy every detail of this beauty.
We stayed for 2 nights and couldn’t be happier. We were a little early and reception was able to still see us to our rooms. They were beautiful, spacious, comfortable and quiet. There was a wedding happening at the main and we could not hear it in our quarters. The staff was so accommodating. We wanted some ice for some drinks we wanted to make while we waited for our friends to arrive. The staff was so nice by getting some for us from one of the kitchens. The property was beautiful as well and some good trails. We were also shown how to get around the city using the tram, which was very close by. Also, we stayed on very hot days and our room was nice and cool. The only thing is I would have liked an extra pillow on our bed. However, I am sure if I had asked that it would not have been a problem and I would have gotten one. I just forgot and we had arrived from the city later and reception was already gone for the night. Not a problem though. Still give 5 stars cause we will definitely be back.…
If you visit Strasbourg, then this chateau is well worth a visit. It sits in a lovely park where the locals walk, cycle and exercise. The hotel rooms are extremely comfortable, very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was equally enjoyable. We were very glad we found the chateau, would recommend it without hesitation, and will stay again on our next visit to Strasbourg.
Excellent property, staff, breakfast, room, and hotel. Located away from the hustle of Strasbourg, but not too far out. Great history, apparently Napoleon was here, and nice to see part of it being used in an academic fashion. A short drive to the tram that gets you to the old Town. Our Google map directions were a bit "off", so don't dispare if finding the hotel is a little tricky. A bar/pub at the entrance, not affiliated, is handy. A definite thumbs up 👍 B & A Canada
Great experience. Beautiful area with historical moments. Lovely park around. Very quiet. Pleasant service. Had to change room due to the weeding. I have been offered wine and sauna for free for this inconvenience. I received only wine. Not a problem but just don't say if you cannot offer.
Lovely oasis just outside the city. Old world accomodation - very relaxing. They are currently do some renovations but no noise impact. Delightful breakfast and I would Definitely stay here again. Beautiful walk available around the chateau
We were very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the Chateau was and how large the grounds are. We stayed only 1 night but plan to come back for a longer stay to enjoy the grounds. We stayed in the Chalet and it was nice, not great, not Bad just nice. Rooms were clean and the bathroom had a nice shower with good water pressure and nice fluffy towels. Hair dryers are provided. What more could you ask for. The bed was comfortable for us and roomy. The staff was very nice and even gave us a tour of the Chateau when we asked. Breakfast was a very welcome surprise, a buffet consisting of breads, cheeses, cold cuts and spreads. There was hard boiled eggs and yogurt and several types of cereals. You can start your day we'll fortified.
Amazing place, amazing staying, very comfortable room, very nice staff and helpful. Unfortunately, I spent there one night only, I had no time to stay more, but I will stay there again, so beautiful and relaxing. Excellent breakfast.
Our first glimpse of Chateau de Pourtales was like a visit to a charming long gone period, brilliant. Although we only stayed the one night we wished it had been more. The bedroom we had was actually in the Chateau, a huge elegantly furnished room with a great comfortable bed, extra clean, superb breakfast and overlooking parkland, hard to describe, full of character and a magical experience. Anyone staying in/near Strasbourg should visit the Chateau and feel and read about its fascinating history.
