At arrival Mohammed at reception greeted me with a big smile, very friendly, and offered me a room WITH BALCONY, which he promouted as" "the best choose" for me. As a result of this "generous" offer I had a "belle vue" on Strasbourg railroad for €119,42 per night. Be aware of this possibility to face a replacement of a City Garden, which Voco Hotel advertises, by a Railroad view and noise of trains at your room window. My question is to the architect, who thought that it was highly enjoyable to stay on balcony, listening to the "music"of trains passing by, while looking over at the station next to a huge car garage. Top quality of air, of course! :) And great "Garden" smells! Needless to say that I kept balcony door and curtains closed to reduce noise. Plenty of honks-honks for four stars!…
I would definitely like to thank you for the excellent service and cleaning of the room (I really liked the way the maid had arranged my make-up in the bathroom). Very comfortable bed, great breakfast, responsive staff. And an ideal location for an early train ride to Paris. The only problem - the air conditioner had to be turned off all the time, otherwise the room was very cold. And this hotel probably can't open its windows.
We were on the 6th floor. The room was lovely. Small, but cozy, clean, & a comfortable bed. Very quiet, super friendly & helpful staff. The indoor pool was sooo nice. Loved the ambiance. We were so relaxed after a swim. Nice locker/changing room. Cozy bar. What stood out to me was the excellent breakfast. So many times the food at hotels is very unappealing. Not so here. There is fruit, salad, cereal, assorted juices, cheeses, charcuterie, croissants, breads, eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, hot beverage machine. We could walk to nearly everything. Don't forget to try the local Alsatian food at the restaurants! The only negative thing I could say is that stepping into & out of the tub was something to pay attention to. It's a bit steep. I am tall so it wasn't much of an issue, but it could be for older people or short people.…
I used points and stayed for two nights. The side street seems a bit dodgy, particularly at night, but still ok. Hotel staff is friendly, rooms are modern and clean. I had a bag, cookies and a keychain stuffed animal as gift on the room which was lovely. One bottle of water was in the fridge. i would stay there again.
Cleanliness: The room was clean. The restaurant was not: Sticky cups, dirty knife, overflowing garbage can just next to fruit platters on breakfast buffet (we were the first guests in the morning, why leave an overflowing garbage can?!?! when we told the waiter about the garbage can and dirty dishes he just laughed and said ‚this is no problem‘!), the small milk can was honestly disgusting, refill water bottles had solids floating in them…. Style: If you like modern cosy design, this is lovely. Seems to have a lovely summer garden with nice lighting and furniture, Bar is both cosy and stylish. Bathroom tiny and dangerous (to climb out of shower there is no rail to hold on to, fine for me but my parents could not go to this hotel). Nice touch to have a tote bag, small toy and biscuits in room at arrival. Spa is ok, although some equipments did not work. Staff: Only young inexperienced staff that felt like untrained and unmanaged temps that permanently chatted with each other and seemed not to know what their tasks are. With the only exception of one young lady with glasses at breakfast. Language is a challenge. Management not visible. Breakfast: Beautiful fresh selection, beautifully presented (fresh exotic fruit and smoothies, excellent bread, smoked salmon that was not too salty, nice cheeses and compotes etc). Lukewarm tea water and coffee from machine, no other beverages proposed (from bar for example, as they do in other IHG hotels). Cleanliness and staff see above. Location: Good enough to visit downtown Strasbourg by foot. Next to train station but no noise from trains. Parking: Be careful, there is no information provided prior to stay to inform guests that very few parking spaces are proposed at hotel and that one would need to make a reservation. But several public parkings are at walking distance.…
Unfortunately most of the staff does not speak a second language, especially not English. How can I understand what staff is telling me? Also after 3 days and 2 times calling the staff our sink is still not working. Room 105. Also, nobody came the first day to reset the safe, we did it by ourselves. Now the good part.you can open the window in your room for fresh air. Nice. The street side rooms are fairly quiet and sleep well. Great the pool in the basement, we enjoyed it very much. The bar is nice, good drinks and also breakfast was very detailed and nice. Thanks for that! Overall a very nice new hotel with swimming pool. Garage is small , limited parkings space. In less then 500 meters large parking garage available, which we did. Enjoy your stay!
We stayed at Voco for one night one the 30th November and visited the Strasbourg Christmas markets. The hotel is really central and 10 minutes walk from the markets and Cathedral. We got a late slot (10-11pm) in the spa which was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. We stayed in a premium Queen room which was beautiful and extremely comfortable. All of the hotel staff here are great (Melissa from the restaurant / breakfast was particularly helpful) I just wish I had stayed longer!
From the minute we walked into the reception area we knew this was an excellent facility. The decor and friendly atmosphere was only enhanced even further by the staff that assisted us. The location for this hotel is not that close to the old town but I found a parking space just in front of the hotel which was more luck that common sense. Everything about this hotel was superior but I must place an emphasis on the service which was outstanding. The rooms, beds, facilities and pool/sauna area were small but excellent. This is a great hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to or near Strasbourg.
Very nice stay with our family. Hotel is nice and modern and staff is very service minded, despite its a new hotel and they are inexperienced. I would come again. Breakfast, Restaurant and bar have great selection and breakfast, lunch and dinner is high standard.
Conveniently located near the train station and the centre of the city. The staff is friendly the room was comfortable, and the breakfast is very good. Some details could be better - the shower was weak, and there was no shower gel in the dispenser.
