I ate at the Store Street Exchange. Rib eye and salad very good (subbed salad for fries) and a half pint of local lager. Sabia provided friendly and helpful service. I am staying at the hotel. The updated room is comfortable and well laud out.

This was our third stay at this hotel which is ideally situated for a city break. It is directly opposite the Piccadilly railway station but we travel by car and use the onsite car park facilities. This is on a first come, first served basis and was £20 per night. There is an NCP facility nearby and this compares at £25 per 24 hr period.
As our trip was going to be recreational and non essential, I was concerned about the Covid-19 measures in place but was reassured by previous reviews about the professional way this was being managed. I can confirm that the hotel management are taking the safety of its guests very seriously and could not fault the hygiene measures being deployed. The room had a seal on the door by housekeeping to show nobody had entered since it had been cleaned. Unless specifically requested, housekeeping will not enter your room during your stay. When we did ask for clean towels and a replacement pillow, they were brought up to the room very promptly.
Another example of the measures in place, the bar staff politely remind guests to wear masks when entering the bar and moving across the room to use the bathrooms. I also saw staff promptly clean seating and tables after guests had left the bar. You can be assured that Hilton Doubletree Manchester are doing all they can for everyone's safety and comfort.
As Hilton Honours members we received x2 drink vouchers per night of our stay. A nice touch which makes your custom feel valued.
Our room was on the 9th floor with good views over the Manchester skyline, resembling Manhatten with the number of new high rise apartment blocks, looking towards Canal Street. Rooms were functional and comfortable with a walk in shower and Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. Complimentary bottled water was provided. We were not disturbed by any noise at all during our stay.
We ate out both for breakfast and evening meal as it is only less than a 10 minute walk to a nice Wetherspoons near St Peter Square who are doing a discounted rate Mon-Wed on food during September. As it was our wedding anniversary, we went to The Ivy - a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will certainly be visiting again in the future.

We weren't exactly thrilled about traveling in the middle of a pandemic, but our trip to Manchester was necessary. Double Tree by Hilton Manchester really stepped to the plate on so many levels.
The hotel takes mask and distancing regulations seriously and we felt very safe from the moment we checked into the hotel. Front desk staff welcomed us and explained all the regulations.
The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a small AC problem the first night but maintenance resolved that quickly. The water pressure in the bathroom could be stronger—it took a long time to shower because the pressure was so weak.
A huge shout out to Mark and Stephen in the restaurant. They were there every night of our six-night stay and took great care (along with the chef) to provide vegan, gluten-free meals for me. THANK YOU!!! The food was delicious and exactly what we needed.
One negative thing—the music in the lobby, bar, and restaurant was annoying. The speakers are positioned in strange places and the choice of music (techno, too many screaming vocals) on the various playlists interferes with what would otherwise be an excellent, relaxing dining experience. Also, the music from the bar bleeds into the lobby and clashes with the music from the restaurant, and that results in an unpleasant cacophony. We eventually figured out where the speakers were located and tried to stay far away. Music should enhance dining, not clash with it.
Housekeeping provided everything we needed as soon as requested. We opted to not have the room cleaned (for safety reasons) but they delivered clean towels, fresh water bottles, extra coffee within minutes of our requests.
So aside from the music, this hotel gets my recommendation. Hats off to the team for staying optimistic, friendly, and welcoming in the middle of this virus mess.

We stayed here for a long weekend, from the moment I booked were were offered a free deidicated parking space, our room was fantastic - city view room, breakfast was superb help yourself style with a massive choice of cereal, breads and cooked food. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and were both friendly and warm. The location of the hotel was brilliant a 10 minute walk to the centre of the shops etc we went to the Christmas market which was close by. I would definitely recommend this hotel in Manchester.

This hotel is situated around a 10 minute walk from Manchester city centre and about a 2 minute walk to piccadilly station. It is amazingly situated. We stayed in a twin deluxe room and requested that I would like 2 single beds instead of 1 queen size bed. I recieved an email forn the hotel that this would be done for me.
Upon arrival, I was offered a warm chocolate chip cookie which I politely declined as I am allergic to nuts and it contained nuts. I don't know why they did this as people like me who have an allergy to nuts cant enjoy a cookie. Anyway, the room was ok,the coffee machine didnt work and it just seemed like a standard room, not one that I had paid to upgrade for.
There was scuffs on the wall and dents in the doors. The room really needed some TLC.
I also had 1 queen size bed instead of 2 single beds. The mattress in the room was rock hard, and I had a really bad nights sleep. Not what I expect when paying £160 a night for a hotel.
The only reason why I am giving this a 4 star review is the breakfast. It was the best I had ever had. The range was all extensive and even had gluten free and lactose free items! I also loved the hot chocolate in breakfast.
Overall, the hotel was ok, but I would not return for the price I paid.

I stayed here twice, once for two nights and then again for one night. The digital key is great. Loved choosing my room and going straight to the room. You have to remember to collect your free drinks vouchers if you’re a Diamond member, I don’t understand why they cannot be placed in the room.
The distancing procedures are great and at night I saw they had a security guard insisting everyone in the public areas wore a mask.
The room was very clean and I noticed a lot of stuff that is normally there like the kettle and cups and glasses were removed, not sure why since surely they can be sterilized? I also noticed they stopped providing free newspapers, you used to be able to collect them from reception but obviously they have been removed but I would have expected my personal free copy to be delivered to the room.
The restaurant is well set up and distancing was good. Staff all wore masks which was good.
Overall, I think the hotel is great with lots of great adaptations. Pity some things that could still be available are not.
Recommended!

Hello Phil It is so wonderful to get such a a great review from you especially recognizing the new measures in place to keep everyone safe. Being a Diamond member we value your comments especially on the drinks vouchers. We have made some changes to the room with some items removed and the tea and coffee facilities including kettle are now hiding in a draw with Paper cups at this time. We have stopped hard newspapers but have a online newspaper site that our valued guests can access - I will check that the team are fully aware of how to access this for your next stay. Let us know when you are visiting again and we will make sure that we have everything ready for you. Thanks again for recommending us.

I was back here again with my partner to add to our many stays over the years staying for 2 nights over the New Year 2019/2020. We had actually popped in to speak to someone back in the October as we were staying across the road for the night and wanted to enquire about vegan menu options as we were doing veganuary from the 1st Jan and we were informed that vegan options were actually being looked into and should appear on the new menus. My main reason for asking was for breakfast on the morning of New Year’s Day as I have to eat at quite regular times and wanted to be sure we could get something. I’d checked in online through my account so upon arriving everything was straight forward and I further enquired about vegan options and breakfast and was ensured there would be options. Our room was as usual and clean although as mentioned on previous reviews beginning to look a little tired from general ware and tare the rooms really haven’t changed much over the years and we stayed here before Hilton took over and apart from a few touch ups nothing has changed and its beginning to show in places within the rooms with things like bathroom doors having issues etc although communal areas are fine. Beds are still comfortable and rooms well soundproofed so returning to the hotel meant we had good nights sleep both nights. The menus we noticed did have vegan options but very limited and our breakfast we had very limited choice too. When we went down in the morning we were shown to the vegan options which for cooked options consisted of veggie sausages, tomato, beans, and hash brown but we couldn’t have the mushroom as they were cooked in butter I don’t know why they couldn’t have cooked some separately and for the continental we could have cereal and some fruit but no vegan yoghurts or vegan cheese alternatives of course we could also have toast too. I felt they could have provided a little more if a little more thought had gone into it seeing as the price was the same as those who have meat and dairy in their diet. For anyone who is full time vegan I did feel it was a little limited however what was provided was nice and I was happy to be able to have breakfast at the hotel. The staff are great and all in all we generally had a good stay as always and we probably would have booked for this new year too however the pandemic has put a stop to this let’s hope for a better year next year!

+1
The location of the hotel is in the heart of the city, comfy beds and great breakfasts and reception.
However, the bathroom lacks a bath which is not something I expected off the hotel.
With the covid situation the cleaning needs to be pre-arranged but the staff are really helpful and polite.
If you're looking for a parking space then it's available £20 on first come first serve basis if you look for outside but nearby parking space then it'd cost you around £16.50 so again the hotel parking is something I'd recommend along with the hotel.

Stayed here for one night. The room given first had a dodgy heating system with constant buzzing noise coming through the vents. Got it changed very quickly to another one. The flush buttons were very hard to push and water pressure was not enough to clear the bowl. The hot water was also very temperamental and had to wait a while for it to run to a desired temperature.
The amount of shampoo, conditioner and lotion provided in very small bottles hardly 20ml which are insufficient even for one persons use. They should definitely be upgraded quantity and quality wise both.
