Nestled in a tranquil yet accessible location, the Waterside Hotel and Leisure Club offers a well-regarded haven with a variety of praised leisure facilities, including a spacious pool and gym. While the cleanliness of the hotel generally earns positive marks, some guests have called out the rooms for being on the smaller side and occasionally under-furnished. The service stands out for its friendliness, although there are occasional slips in housekeeping. Opinions on value are split, with some finding the hotel affordable despite pricier food options. The atmosphere is mostly appreciated, especially the luxurious bathrooms, but suggestions have been made for enhancing the breakfast experience and bar ambiance.

Stayed for one night B&B a few days after the hotel reopened. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, staff extremely friendly and the breakfast was great.

The rooms are sealed with tape after cleaning so one can be assured that no one has entered since the deep clean.

We will definitely be back , couldn’t fault the friendly staff , great breakfast with fresh produce, we hadn’t been swimming for at least 5 years until this break the pool was so inviting we couldn’t miss out , the facilities are amazing. Everything was spotlessly clean & disinfected so we felt safe , sanitizer inside & outside plus a temperature screen very modern & up to date . We’d highly recommended a stay to anyone.

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend with my family, and the service and room were absolutely terrible, the receptionist are not very welcoming at all, they seem like they don't want work there and ask for double deposits, I paid for a double deluxe room, and what I got was a tiny single room for me and my family, 2 weeks before I arrived i had requested for a baby cot in my room which was confirmed, and upon my arrival, they had forgotten to place this, but I think the worst thing about this hotel is the cleaning staff, the nappies in the room were piling up and I had asked the cleaning manager twice if I was able to get the room cleaned, and she had told me we only clean a room every 4 days. I found this disgusting service as we had paid £130 a night, the upside is the breakfast which is good, but I found the jacuzzi was always overcrowded and bits of hair and pieces floating around. Definitely not worth £130, you are better off at a Hilton.

Hello Stephan C Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I’m sorry to hear that the hotel standards didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. We apologise for omitting to put the travel cot into your bedroom for your arrival but once this error was brought to the attention of our reception team, this matter was resolved immediately and a travel cot was provided. Bedrooms are serviced daily, normally before 3pm. If there is a ‘do not disturb’ sign on your door handle we will leave a bag of fresh towels. We are an environmentally friendly hotel and our policy is to change the bedding sheets every 4 days during your stay unless the guest requests otherwise, this is advertised in the bedroom. If you would like to discuss this matter further then please do not hesitate to contact Kyle, our Hotel Operations Manager. Kyle.Sheridan@waterside-hotel.co.uk Kind Regards

The staff are delightful and made us feel so welcome, and we're extremely helpful and always smiling! The room was basic for the price and could have had some easy improvements to make it a more luxurious stay, such as all light bulbs working and a spruce up of furnature and paintwork and Aircon. We also had a broken window which wasn't ideal as we were ground floor, but the staff were on hand right away to check it and organise it to be fixed. For £104 including breakfast and use of the amazing leisure facilities we were very impressed. The hydro pool was super relaxing (but not fully operational on the bed jets sadly) and exactly why I booked our visit and the multiple gyms and full length swimming pool more than made up for the minor issues with the room itself which had a super comfy bed and was all lovely and clean.

Set on the banks of the quiet part of the River Mersey, the hotel is very comfortable and welcoming, with the attached Spa, pool and fitness centre very popular and busy. The restaurant has quite a good menu available, and we were very impressed with the food. All the staff were welcoming, polite and helpful. It’s close to a number of motorways and walking distance to the Metrolink tram station which links all parts of the area, so it’s a perfect location to get quickly into central Manchester, and 5 minutes to the motorway by car.
Rather than pay the City Centre hotel car parking charges of £24 a day, we will henceforth stay here and spend £4.20 on an all-day tram ticket which takes you all over the city, right into the heart of the High Street and shopping districts.

Check in was fast and efficient, told all about the hotel and what was on when and where etc, very helpful.

Breakfast buffet was outstanding, eggs made to your liking and just ask for toast and it arrives, the staff were excellent and we was made very welcome.

Had an evangelist meal in the bar, excellent price and was delicious.

Evening entertainment on Saturday night was a great singer, he was very good indeed.

Pool excellent size and open till 10pm, along with adults only hydrotherapy area below ground and steam rooms and sauna and jacuzzi.
gym is excellent and open 24hours.

Location is a little outwards on the edge of East Didsbury but it’s a 10 min walk to the buses (magic bus is cheap fares) or Tram which is about 40 mins to Manchester Piccadilly Gardens or the train was cheap and was 10 mins to Piccadilly.

There is bowling and restaurants within a few mins of the hotel and lovely walks along the Mersey.

Will be back for many visits as the lad is in uni and this was a good location for us. And will also look to do food sorcery which is next door.More

Great hotel with leisure club facilities thrown in, next to the great river Mersey within easy reach of the City.

We loved the personal touch from walking in to reception to be greeted by Sophie to friendly Red in the restaurant for breakfast.

Rooms are compact - hanging space limited as there’s no wardrobe but clean with fresh linen and restocked tea and coffee every day. Our shower was lovely and the blackout good.

We tried the new breakfast to go - continentalish with fruit, yoghurt and honey, muffin and water ideal for our 6:30am start one day. Otherwise self service breakfast is all the usual features and a buffet style cooked breakfast. You could ask for special omelettes etc too. Plentifully supplied even after 9am when breakfast finishes at 9:30am.

Meals are available at other times. Good coffee shop and lounge area too overlooking the pool.

Use of facilities included in your booking. It is a busy working gym and pool so the car park can fill up but still has plenty of space.

Staff can’t help you enough no matter who is on duty. Great little hotel and location.

This was our second visit to the hotel while visiting our daughter at university. The staff are fantastic - friendly, helpful and professional, genuinely seeming to enjoy working with people.
The leisure club, particularly the 25 metre pool with proper lane swimming is great and the changing rooms, like the rest of the hotel are spotless.
We had a bigger room on this occasion which made for a more comfortable stay than last year’s “small double” .
Breakfast was nice but we got there at 9am and there were very few croissants / pastries left and they weren’t replenished which was strange as the cooked food was still being refilled near 10am! Otherwise is a nicely laid out buffet breakfast with a nice view!
If you don’t want to pay £13.95 for breakfast, the hotel has a really nice coffee shop with a wide choice of food and drinks so room only would be a good option.
We walked into Didsbury for dinner and drinks (about 25 minutes). There’s lots of choice. The tram stop at East Didsbury is only a 10 minute walk away so great for getting into the city. We’d definitely stay again.

Stayed here on several occasions. Staff at reception are the most helpful I've ever experienced. They even recommended where to eat out and advised on using the tram to get around- really helpful as we didn't know the area.

The leisure facilities are great and the spa is brilliant after a hard day at work. The gym is a little busy as it is used by people who are members here, but there are plenty of different sections to use, including a ladies only section.
The rooms aren't the biggest, but they are clean and well maintained- the drawer of biscuits is a nice touch!

When I was there last month, there were no loungers out. Next to the cold shower was supposed to be some kind of salt/aromatherapy room. Although sat in there it didn’t appear to either be working at all or was very poor. The benches didn’t feel heated.
