I stayed here for one night in January.

There is free car parking which is a great plus point.

The staff were excellent. Helga in particular was an absolute star.

The room was immaculately clean.

There is only 30 minutes free WIFI then you have to pay £3 for two devices for 24 hours.

The price for me was only £37 which was great value.

The location is about 30 minutes walk from the city centre, and there is plenty of buses passing on the main road. You are also about 10-15 minutes' drive from Manchester airport.

I will definitely stay here again, and I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a budget hotel on the outskirts of the city centre with free car parking.

We had a 2 night stay here when the bar and cafe were closed, but it was a good location for the curry mile, local pubs, restaurants and cafes. The car park is quite a good size considering it’s located on a main road. The staff were very friendly and full Covid precautions were in place with plenty of sanitiser. On the negative side I would not recommend bothering with the business floor unless you can get a room at the back. I booked several months ago when it was twice the price it is at the moment, but had to change the date because of the virus, so although the room was very clean and well maintained, it wasn’t very good value as it was very small, noisy from the traffic on the A34 and extremely hot. Don’t really understand how they can call it the quieter area when a lot of the rooms pretty much face out onto the main road! The traffic noise diffusers don’t work either. That said, it is a very convenient location and we would definitely return.

The Travelodge is great value for money and allows a comfortable stay. Very clean and has a little bar/restaurant facilities which is very practical. In particular, Helga is fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, she is a credit to the company. Great service from the staff.

Arrived on Saturday and upon checking in I realised that this is a budget hotel, when asking the receptionist question he completely ignored what I was saying and stared at a woman who was standing behind me, I had to repeat the question 3 times to get a reply. Felt like the staff are not bothered and prefer to talk amongst each other then address the guest.

The next day I went to reception to ask for tea milk and towels, I asked the lady if I could have a few extra milk as I drink milky tea and asked for bath and hand towels. I was told they will be brought up. Lady came to my room and dumped towels and tea on the FLOOR outside!!! In times of Covid use a plastic bag!!! There was only 2 tiny milk sachets so I called to the lady and asked if I could get a few more as I drink multiple drinks a day, she said no, you’re only allowed 2. She was so rude and dismissive. And I asked about the hand towels and the lady said we don’t have hand towels!! This is ridiculous what type of hotel doesn’t have milk and towels. Please avoid travelodge hotels at all cost, use premier inn hotels, I always have a much better experience with premier inn. Rude lady’s name who I spoke with was something like Sarah or began with S. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

On 28th November 2020, we checked into the travelodge upper brook street for 12 nights whilst working away in Manchester. We were booked on the business floor by our company but have to say it left alot to be desired.

On the fourth floor, we had a room at the far end of our corridor. The room was very small, standard sized bed with one desk, one chair, hangers to put clothes on but nothing else so for 12 nights, most of our work stuff was on the floor. We've stayed on the business floors at other travelodges but this one, fell well below the standard of a business floor.

The current travelodge policy during covid, rooms are cleaned once you've stayed 6 nights. We stayed 12 nights so our room was cleaned only once. I think they need to review this, every 4 nights would have been better. Having to work 12 hour shifts then coming back to our hotel room to bleach the toilet & clean shower etc isn't what you should have to do.

Another bad point of this hotel is the diabolical parking. They offer 70 spaces free, however, they do not take car reg numbers on arrival which is ridiculous. On several nights, we returned to find cars/Van's parked over 2 bays each, vehicles blocking the exit, cars parked all over, it was an absolute joke & nothing the staff could do as they don't take the reg numbers for each room.

It really was a struggle using this hotel for 12 nights. The reception staff were great, very helpful getting us towels, supplies etc but the travelodge needs to look at the parking & the cleaning schedule

As soon as we walked into our room, it was absolutely freezing and so basic! There was a gap in the closed window and the radiator didn’t do much so we had to keep the curtains shut to try and keep some of the cold out. There was one plug in the room and it was no where near the mirror, so if you wanted to use a hairdryer/straighteners and see what you were doing, you wouldn’t be able to.
We got back to the hotel around 11:30pm and didn’t get to sleep until gone 3am due to the constant footsteps from corridors above us and people running around the hotel. Being right across the road from the hospital meant we heard sirens all night too, which can’t be helped but proved that sound proofing is non-existent in this hotel. We could hear the road crossings beeping all night as well.
The lighting in the room wasn’t great either, and the tv needed re-tuning every time it was turned on. The corridors also smelled unpleasant and the lifts seemed a bit dodgy.
The only decent thing about the room was the shower, the pressure was good and it was easy to control the heat.
Overall, this Travelodge was so poor! It cost us £127 for ONE night, it’s an absolute joke and 100% not worth that much money. The only reason we booked here was to go to a gig, but because the Christmas markets are on they think it’s alright to rip people off. The week before we stayed here, we stayed in a Travelodge in central London for £156 for 2 nights (which included breakfast and was a super room) and it was fab! I don’t understand how the quality of these hotels can be so different. Will not be staying here again and wouldn’t recommend at all!

I have been staying here for the last 2 months as I work at the hospital. I have recently received a sternly worded “notice of civil claim” from Civil Recovery Solutions claiming that there is evidence of me smoking in my hotel room.

I am a life-long non-smoker so I can only imagine that the room was not cleaned appropriately before my stay or that they are fishing for £150.

I had planned to stay here for another 10 months but will not be considering staying at a Travelodge ever again.

(A quick google search suggests that this is a common accusation for Travelodge to make. Please do not engage)

We stayed overnight to return our son to Uni and this hotel is perfectly placed as it's probably one of the closest to the town centre that had free parking. Everything about the hotel was great. Comfy night's sleep with clean rooms and the bar and cafe area had a great choice of reasonably priced food and drinks. Overall a great stay!!

Me and my parents along with my younger sister stayed at this hotel for 1 night last week as we were visiting family in Manchester. This hotel had a good location as it is near Manchester Royal Infirmary, 5 minutes bus from the city and has plenty of on site parking. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the bar/restaurant was closed but there was a Tesco Express 30 seconds walk away to get food and drink. The reception team were very friendly. The room was clean and facilities were good. However, there is no air con and it was a very hot day so bare that in mind.

I needed a hotel to stay at while my brother was a patient at Manchester Royal Infirmary. There was free, secure onsite parking. From the minute I arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful. And everything was Covid secure. Everyone wore masks and hand gel was freely available. My room was large, clean and equipped with a kettle and a replenishable supply of tea, coffee, milk and sugar. From my room to my brother’s bedside was just a 5 minute walk. Supermarkets for salads and cold ready meals were within easy walking distance as were takeaways selling hot meals.
The hotel staff willingly printed some documents for me.
A brilliant stay all round. This hotel will be my first choice should I need to go back.
