The Travelodge Manchester Central is often commended for its central location, which allows for easy exploration of shopping and entertainment options while providing quiet accommodations. The staff is repeatedly acknowledged for their friendliness and professionalism, enhancing guest experiences. Although the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness, some guests feel they could benefit from modern updates and improved toiletries. I stayed at this travelodge with my friend and her two boys for one night. My friend had a family room and I had a room to myself. The staff were friendly and efficient and allowed us to leave are luggage in a locked room as we arrived earlier than check in which allowed us to go into manchester unencumbered. Our rooms were spacious light and heated well without being stuffy or too hot. Both the bedroom and en suite were clean and offered all facilities I could of needed. Not only was there tea and coffee facilities in the room but a free coffee machine with tea and hot choc. The all you could eat breakfast was incredible and as children went free we only had to pay for 2 adults. The female member of staff at breakfast couldn't do enough for us without being intrusive. An excellent stay a nd I'm going. Back with my sister in march. Well worth the price in a wonderfull location to the shops and restaurants and not to far from Victoria station

We arrived on Friday for 2 nights. Getting to the Travelodge was a bit of a nightmare with roads closed and diversion in place. When we got there we parked at the Travelodge £10 per night there is a NCP next door for £5 per night. We checked in and was advised the bar was closed and the hotel wasn’t doing food. We was told you can have food delivered to the hotel but must meet the delivery driver just outside the main doors. We were also advised the cleaner wouldn’t be coming in the room to make beds etc until we leave but if we need towels etc we just to ask at reception. We was on floor 4 and had a very spacious room with a double bed and 2 single beds (family room) was clean and tidy the view was a bit boring just the road outside the hotel. All in all a great stay and only a 5/10min walk to all shops.

This Travelodge is slightly better than usual, with recent decoration and cheerful (but sparse) staff. Staying on a high floor means the rooms are fairly quiet. and they're clean and reasonably equipped with the usual stuff.
The venue is let-down by the characterless "bar/restaurant" - no nicer than a factory canteen - with loud tinny music from a cheap stereo. I find it hard to believe that a huge hotel chain would think that ANY customer would want this...
Overpriced breakfasts can be avoided by a short walk to decent venues...

You can't stay in a Travelodge and reasonably expect a five star stay!

Firstly, I would like to point out that there is another similarly named Travelodge within a 10 minute walk of Travelodge Central named Travelodge Central Arena. Make sure you double check you're going to the correct hotel before you end up in a pay-to-leave car park like we did!

The hotel is in an excellent location in Central Manchester, within walking distance of local amenities and public transport networks. There is very limited on-site parking available on a first come first served basis, so I would advise that you find out where another nearby car park is in case there are no spaces left.

The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we didn't have to wait long to check in. Our room was clean, with a strong smell of bleach inside and in the corridor. The decor was tired, and the furniture and accessories were basic and sparse. Our room did not have blackout curtains, and there were no plug sockets on either side of the bed. The exterior of the windows desperately needed the attention of a window cleaner too, although there isn't an awful lot to look at outside! The bath drain was partially blocked too, so the bath emptied slowly after we had a shower.

We were not disturbed during the night by other guests moving around in their rooms or outside noise. The mattress was too soft for my fiancé and I, so we both woke up with sore backs.

We partook in the unlimited breakfast the following morning, which was excellent. There was a good selection of fresh hot and cold food, as well as hot drinks and juice. The kitchen staff were amicable too.

If you just need a cheap, private room to crash in for the night, that is also within walking distance of the city centre, then Travelodge Central is a good choice. It was an adequate stay for us, but I personally value a good night's sleep. However, I would stay here again.

Stayed in room 412 from 12/1-16/1. Check in was fast and was offered a hairdryer and extra towels if needed so I wouldn’t have to come down later.

Basic room but everything you’d need. Kettle, Freeview tv, plenty of storage and their comfy mattress.

Looked over the back of an office car park so no view, but quiet which I wanted.

Only downside was even though I like a shower the bath didn’t drain properly or fast enough so after a minute or two you were still standing in your dirty water and the toilet flush appeared broken so much to the point that I was cranking the handle so forcefully I thought I’d break it to make it flush, but apart from that the bathroom was spotless.

As I’ve stayed here before I have mentioned the hotel is safe as you need your keycard to enter the hotel at night, to gain access to the lifts and to your landing so no one can walk off the street which is reassuring as you are right in the city centre.

Value for money, can’t complain either. Took advantage of their Black Friday 2019 deal and paid £96.00 for 4 nights !

Even though there was a couple of niggles, would return and definitely recommend. Well done 👌

I am satisfied with my stay in Manchester Central. It is located in the central area, easy to reach to work places as the convenience of public transport near by. Also there is a paid car park. The receptionist are very friendly and professional, they welcome the guests and explain all your needs and give you suggestions. The arriving guests can take a glass of lemon water when waiting for check in. I have had a good experience with my stay.

From the minute I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome, informed and valued as a customer. I paid for early check in as I was meeting a friend in town. The whole experience was straight-forward and quick enabling me time to sort my things before heading out.
The room was really clean, the bed was so comfy and the shower was perfect - hot and powerful which helped wake me up after a long day sampling the best of the day and night life Manchester has to offer.
Located close off Deansgate and close to the shops etc this is a really good value location to base yourself on a stay to the City. Thanks for a great stay!

The staff and management are awesome at this Travelodge unfortunately the same cannot be said for the rest of the experience at this very rundown lodge.

The employees at this Travelodge are a real credit to the business, with special mention to Mandy, Johnathan and Ryan, all are friendly, efficient and professional; always going that ‘extra mile’ to make sure that your stay is as best that it can be.

Despite the lodge’s excellent location in the heart of the city of Manchester, and however hard the employees work the rest of the hotel experience is woeful, annoying and disappointing.

The reception area could be so much more welcoming in term of décor and ambience, the adjacent open plan bar and restaurant is more school cafeteria rather than hospitable hotel restaurant.

As you walk to the rooms you tread on stained, worn out carpets, notice the peeling paint work on the walls, giving you little confidence for the state of the room.

As expect the rooms are tired old décor nothing like the promise made on the Travelodge website, old rundown fixtures and fittings with broken and ripped chair.

The bathroom experience was not any better, with broken toilet seat, black mould on the tiles and an unclean shower curtain, the only plus point was the superb water pressure from the shower.

Yes, the bed was very comfortable with nice pillows and duvet encased in crisp clean linen yet due to the most irritating and bothersome aspect of the stay the noise from internal and external sources, sleep was troublesome.

Every time some walked down the corridor adjacent to the room you got disturbed including housekeeping staff holding a conference outside the room in the morning of the stay.

Yet is the constant drone of external noise from air ventilation systems which make for a disturbed nights sleep and a requirement to increase the television volume.

In summary, the wonderful, awesome and friendly employees cannot hide the fact that the hotel is terribly noisy, has tired rooms which make for an uncomfortable and disturbed stay at what given the location should be one of the best Traveloge's in the country not one of the worst.

Stayed for 7 nights and selected breakfast for each morning. To begin with check in was great and was allowed to check in early as I was worried that my luggage was in the car. All questions answered and felt very welcomed with a smile. Breakfast was great and Mike was very helpful and welcoming. He was always available to take away finished plates and provided a great service. I would recommend the family room and the location of the hotel is a short walk away from all the shopping you would ever need in Manchester. Furthermore, the price of the room are very reasonable considering the placement of the hotel. Parking is available here but remember to validate inside the hotel every day you stay to avoid any fines.

This is the first hotel Travelodge opened in Manchester city centre and over the years has benefitted from investment to keep it up to a good standard and looking as new as possible. It's well located for access to Victoria railway station, while Free Bus No1 is the best way to reach it from Piccadilly railway station. Great customer service at reception and at breakfast. Quiet room on the top/7th floor aka Business Floor with a rear view to avoid traffic noise. Despite being on the top floor, hot water was instant. Good bed and pillows as to be expected. Only minor issue was where the TV was placed on the desk, it could only be angled in one direction. Sadly a neighbouring guest was smoking in their room at night, my bathroom getting the smell through the extractor vent - by the next morning my whole room smelt and when I mentioned it at breakfast, I wasn't charged for it.

I’d say your closest station is Manchester Victoria Station. (10 min walk approximately). If you’re after a sit down meal you could try the Hard Rock Cafe, which is always a great atmosphere with decent no nonsense food (I’d recommend booking on line though especially if any concerts are on at AO arena).

HI i am so sorry but Travelodge do not accept anyone under the age of 18 to make a booking, there has to be at least 1 person in the room that is 18 or over or you will not be allowed to stay. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We use the travelodge every time we stay in Manchester and we stay quite often. It's good value and close to all the main stores and restaurants. It's a less than 10 minute walk to the football museum, don't know about the Coronation Street tour think that's a fair distance as is the Trafford Centre so you would need transport or as others say use the trams. If you're driving there is a car park underneath the hotel with limited spaces for £10 pee night. Hope this helps 👍
