Reviews summary

Located in the heart of the city, Britannia Sachas Hotel is often chosen by travelers for its central positioning, despite mixed feelings about the neighborhood's vibe. While some guests appreciate the hotel's budget-friendly nature, opinions on the value received for the price vary. Check-in can be a test of patience due to the reported slow service and less-than-welcoming reception staff.
Cleanliness is a highlight, with numerous guests praising the diligent housekeeping. The hotel offers basic amenities and comfortable beds, though calls for refurbishment and modernization are common. The dated atmosphere and room issues, like inconsistent temperatures and wear-and-tear, are offset for some by the room's generous size.

Me and a friend stayed here on 7th March. As we smoke we took a smoking room, (517) little did we know this meant the room had no window and was like a prison cell that smelt like an ash tray! I went down and immediately asked for a non smoking room as I didn’t want to smell of smoke. I was given another room (305) this was no better, maybe worse! There is no air con, no windows and the heating was on full when the room has no access to fresh air! Due to this I requested a fan, the worker told me they would bring one, never did. I called reception, told me housekeeping would bring one, seen house keeping who didn’t have a clue. Called reception again who then brought one which was now 30 mins later and by this point we had already had to have our door pegged open with a chair to let air in. There is marks all over the walls, mould on the walls, wall paper coming off due to the mould. The bed is solid, not comfy at all and the room/corridors smell fusty. We had no light in our room as this had been removed and not replaced which was ridiculous. Would never stay again and furious I even paid money to stay here!

Stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst attending Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights at the O2 Apollo with my Dad.
PROS:
Friendly staff
Clean room
Beds were reasonably comfortable
Breakfast average
CONS:
Air conditioning is useless. Turned it on and it didn't seem to be producing much cold air at all. As a result, the room was really hot and I had an uncomfortable night's sleep on the first night. However, a fan was given to us so we had a much more reasonable second night.
WiFi too was useless. Tried standing in multiple areas of the room and although I seemed the internet seemed to have good signal, I simply could not connect to it.
Whilst most of the breakfast was delicious, some of the items were a let down, such as the fried bread which was really crunchy for what it should have been.
The location wasn't very nice as the hotel is surrounded by alleyways which I personally wouldn't feel comfortable walking down at night!
Overall, whilst the hotel proved okay for a base whilst visiting Manchester, I wouldn't stay here again.

First impressions was they couldn’t run a bath let alone a hotel. Waited til 6pm for a room to be “cleaned” the room was what could only be explained as a prison experience no window no light in the main room only a lamp! Filthy conditions, fair play for employing stevie wonder on hotel maintenance he has done questionable repairs. Nice welcome gift in the room though fag butts in the drawers and who has smoking in the rooms!
We watched a bit of tv on the tv the size of a crisp packet before using the shower where water came out nearly everywhere but the shower head kind of like a spa bath but vertical. The drinks vending machine was that old it only accepts shillings.
Do not bother taking an iron with you because you can go downstairs and iron your clothes in the hotels Bar in front of a crowd.
The breakfast is around £10 a person and it’s probably served half cold in a metal tray like gruel. I wouldn’t ever stay in this hotel or hotel chain ever again in my life and to add insult to injury they want you checked out and gone by 10am so they can have 8 hours to “clean your room.
Spoke to a lot of locals and every single one laughed when we told them where we we’re staying the night and we were also told to expect to find needles in there so god knows what it’s reputation is in manchester.

Disgusting food! Room service terrible. Food was brought burnt and cold! Was shouted at by the waitress at breakfast for walking out with my coffee to finish in my room. She made a scene and embarrassed me! The second afternoon I was taking a nap and a Male member of staff just let himself into our room without warning and I could of been getting undressed or something but all he wanted was for us to pay the remainder of our bill which apparently we should of paid on check in but they should of asked us for this on check in! Instead they let a male enter my room demanding I pay saying I had 5 mins to get to reception to make the payment! Before I got chance the man came back storming in again without warning! Totally out of order just barging in! All I was trying to do was take an afternoon nap as I suffer with a chronic illness so needed some rest but the hotel wouldnt let me! The beds were like concrete also and the bathroom was not only dirty but very old and in need of replacing, plus only 1 towel for 2 of us?? Totally unacceptable and these are just a couple of complaints I have of this place. I could go on and on! If you want a decent place to stay then I suggest anywhere but here! Oh and the pool was awful, small, old and tired looking. The whole hotel needs a revamp and not just cosmetically, but with new staff that have actual manner!!

We were swapped to this hotel by national holidays the day before we were due to leave and after reading the reviews I was very close to cancelling but as I already had the holidays from work I decided to go ahead. After reading the reviews we we either very lucky or the hotel has improved unfortunately the street is as bad as described in other reviews and i did feel quite uncomfortable walking to and back from the shops but once inside our room i was not disappointed we were checked straight in and the staff were very friendly and give us directions to our room. We were given a very spacious family room the beds were comfortable and all the bedding was clean as was the bathroom. We were booked for two nights which included evening meals and breakfast and I can honestly say the food was very nice maybe we were just lucky but I honestly couldnt complain

My sister and her boyfriend tried to stay here in July and were turned away at reception because either the hotel was overbooked or the cleaning staff had walked out so there were no clean rooms (the hotel’s story keeps changing). They were offered no alternative accommodation and no support in any way. There were few hotels available in Manchester on a Saturday night and I had to spend a huge amount of money so they’d have somewhere else to stay.
The hotel itself was dated, dirty and filled with the smell of cigarette smoke. Absolutely vile place with the least helpful staff imaginable, even when my sister was having a panic attack caused directly by them.
I’d say “avoid like the plague”, but plague would be preferable to booking this pathetic excuse for a hotel.

Very dated decor, none smoking room stank of smoking, average customer service and unrepaired damage all for £140! Breakfast included in price, but no food at breakfast with an hour of service remaining. When this was mentioned to the restaurant supervisor the response was that the chef is making more. 20 hungry guests waiting for 1 man to make everything. There wasn’t even any bread. Left after 30 minutes to get some actual food. Got this refunded by a grumpy duty manager and unhelpful and unapologetic colleague on reception. Expected so much more for £140 a night, genuinely worth half of that value.
At least the bed was quite comfortable and the location is good, but seriously go somewhere else!

On arrival the staff were really friendly and helpful. However, our room felt more like a luxury prison cell. Lights flickered the entire time we was there, bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room was not cleaned properly from the previous stay as we found acrylic nails scattered around the room. Breakfast was included in our stay, the food options we’re okay. But as we went to leave we’d already checked out and needed to use the toilet so me and my partner had to go from the bottom floor (0) to the second floor to use the hotels toilets which I could only describe as pure filth. We saw numerous cleaners that morning and your telling me not a single one of them could of cleaned what we found in the image I will attach at the bottom. Absolutely vile.

I booked two nights at Sacha Hotel for a short getaway, the hotel is nicely located, close to bars, restaurants and transport hubs. The hotel is quite spacious and the design resembles the 1940s/50s. The room was comfortable, good space and the bed was comfortable although it can do with new furniture, air-conditioning it's OK, but the fans in the do need some maintenance, they do a lot of noise. And the windows do require a good upgrade.
This is a old building so some external noise can be somewhat annoying especially in the lower floors. I understand that we just came out from a full lockdown and businesses are getting back, unfortunately the restaurant was closed and no mention of this via email or during the online booking process, but there's a good choice of restaurants, supermarkets, bars, coffee shops nearby.
In overall I did enjoyed my staying and will for sure return one day. I do recommend this hotel for shorts and longer stayings. The staff is formidable, friendly, helpful and professional.

I booked as a treat for my boyfriend for valentines. Photos are nothing like the real thing. I let was horrendous. Disgustingly dirty. Whilst waiting for the lift to go up to our room we were met two men totally off their heads on something and another couple stoned drunk at 4pm carrying 3 crates of beer. The reception area was filled with piss heads! I paid £102 for a room with a window, room was tiny and dirty. Window opened onto a flat roof but it didn’t lock. Totally insecure and I fit. Door looked like it had been kicked in too. The one saving grace was the receptionist didn’t question me when I returned to the desk and asked for a refund. He clearly knew the place wasn’t nice. I got my money back and went the Malmaison. 💖 perfect night there.

If you are still considering staying at this place, it is more than Key card access you need to worry about. Take my advice and find some ware else.
It’s a good 15 minute walk
No just kick the door in and it will open.
