The room wasn't that bad, but everything else was terrible! Just avoid it if you can... The breakfast was awful, the staff unfriendly, the noise unstoppable. Oh and the place seemed dirty. I just wanted to leave as sono as I could in the morning. I surely won't go there again. And it isn't close to any dart station either. It is only close to UDC, that's why I stayed there..

After reading several reviews on Trip Advisor i was somewhat put off in booking a room here. Myself and my 9 year old son were travelling from Limerick to see the Ireland v USA game at the Aviva on 18 November 2014. What attracted me to this hotel was the price first and foremost (€39 for the 2 of us including breakfast). Also it wasn't too far from the Aviva.
Following all of the bad publicity, i was pleasantly surprised. We were checked in immediately by a very friendly Moroccan staff member. We were booked in to room number 2 which was on the first floor at the back. The room and en suite were fine. No problems. My son even said that the bed he slept on was the most comfy ever! We also had a pleasant view of the rear lawns. We enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep. Breakfast was a self-service affair. That was no problem either. Maybe a little music in the background would enhance the experience in the dining room.
For €39 we have absolutely no complaints and i would stay there again.

Just a few problems that we experienced:-

This was a very uninviting and dark and dismal entrance and reception area.
Curtains off rails in the bedroom and wouldn't close, luckily it wasn't at the front of the building.
Mini analogue TV high up on the wall as far as possible from anywhere one could view it, not that you cow;ld see it properly and I defy anyone to be able to read the TV titles or text.
Black mould in shower room in several places.
Bare timber floor varnished, no mats or carpet.
Door worn closure.
Old badly stained kettle for the "tea making".
Cracked shower room floor tiles.
Storage shelf missing with supports still in wall above WC.
Shaver socket/light not working.
A truly awful breakfast, bread still in plastic wrappers, Spam & Kraft cheese in metal trays with cling film over them.

On the plus side:-

Off road parking.
Lots of hot water.
Brown and White bread.
Two (different) toasters.

This place is:

- overpriced
- dirty
- blant, all white, no decorations whatsoever
- bathroom is tiny
- only very small towels, no soap, not even to wash your hands
- only two towels/tea cups /etc in a room for three people
- personel not helpful; a young boy checked us in, but couldn't give us any information, another girl that works here was absolutely useless as well and didn't even speak or understand English.

What was worst of all was that there were not enough parking spaces, so other cars were double parked and blocked the exit for our car. As we had to catch a flight the next morning we contacted the owner about this, who promised us several times that the cars would definitely be gone early in the morning, so we didn't have to worry about missing our plane. The next morning our car was still blocked and we almost missed our flight, because the owner was nowhere to be found, the girl working in the B&B did not understand English and we had to knock on all the doors to find the owners of the cars ourselves. This is ridiculous and caused a lot of stress.

Will never return to this horrendous place.

We arrived in Dublin at 10:30pm last Friday. On the way to the hotel from the airport the taxi driver rang ahead to the hotel to confirm directions. When asked if we had a reservation, we confirmed we did, It was then that we were told by the owner that he didn't in fact have room for us. No sorry or apology, when the taxi driver questioned the owner as to what he could do, the owner put the phone down on him. Long story short, we were left in Dublin with our luggage at 11pm walking around trying to find a bed for the night! Avoid this place at all costs, Rude owners and by the looks of it poor reviews from previous people who have stayed here!!! Save your money and book else where.

I am attaching pictures to this review - taken this morning 29.09.13

I stayed here with friends last night and still feel sick when I think of the place - it is filthy dirty, completely overpriced (would not stay here again if I got if for free), totally unprofessional, old, unacceptable standards in this day and age etc. etc. .... I could go on.

There were three in our party and we booked a triple room. Two of us arrived earlier than the third - we were immediately asked for 'full' payment. We explained that the third person was on the way and would be with us within 30 minutes - offered to pay our two thirds of the cost and asked if the other person could pay when she arrived. Very rudely, we were told 'No, you pay now and sort it out between yourselves'.

We were shown to room #4 and were horrified when we went in. 4 beds in the room - one of them only fit for a young child but none of them up to the standard that should be allowed to be provided as accommodation for anyone in this day and age. (see pictures)

Duvet covers were old and faded, 3 out of the 4 beds had top sheets (one of them was the childs bed), One of the beds had a very light mattress cover (the type that would be used on a bed which a child who is being toilet trained would be sleeping in), the rest of the beds just had old, fades, worn, light sheets directly over the mattress - you could see the mattress through the sheet - there was a hold in one of the sheets. I am cringing as I write this review - really terrible. (see pictures)

Really old and small TV in the room - which did not really affect us as we did not stay in the room long enough to be watching TV but not acceptable when you are paying €90 for the room.

Headboard disgustingly filthy (see picture)

Woodwork in need of painting/replacing - old, rotting, etc (see pictures)

The very small toilet/shower smelt of urine and was dirty (see pictures). We did not shower at all in the place - we waited until we got home. When we were walking around - we made sure to have footwear on at all times.

The quality of the door handle/lock - something from the 80's. Not secure at all to the point that we locked all our valuables etc. into the boot of the car before we left the place to go out for the evening. We would not leave it in the room.

Only one side of the window would open - other side jammed shut.

Breakfast this morning - DIY. I see that another reviewer has put up a picture of the layout - that says it all. Small fridge with yogurts, carton of milk and litre of cheap orange juice. White sliced pan and we had to ask for brown ... were brought out some of a brown sliced pan in its wrapping which was not fresh - fine for toasting but not fresh. Instant coffee, teabags, fruit bowl, 3 choices of cereal. We also had to ask for milk and butter. The lady (who had checked us in the evening before) came out with it .... in her slippers!!!!

The only recommendation that I can give to anyone planning to stay here .... BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE

If I could give them less than a star I would. I made a reservation weeks in advance for Friday night. We arrived in Dublin a day early so we booked a room with them Thursday night. The attendant Thursday night was wonderful he was helpful and informative. He was able to get my mom and I at least a room with a Queen bed. Then on Friday we would switch to the room with twin beds. Friday morning we speak to the woman on duty and got our new room’s key. I could clearly see my name in their reservation book for Friday night in room 4. Since they were still cleaning we had to leave our luggage in the car. Friday evening after being out all day we get back to the B&B at midnight, go into our room only to a woman sleeping in our room!!!! No attendant was on duty at that hour, there was no one to contact. I went downstairs and the my name had been erased and this woman’s name was written in my place next to room 4. I don’t even understand why they would put a single woman in a room with three beds when the one with only one twin was still available. So around 1230 am we had to find a new place entirely to stay in Dublin on a Friday night. Thank goodness we hadn’t returned our rental like we had considered. Needless to say I would NOT recommend this place if they think they can just erase a reservation.

Terrible place, room dusty not cleaned, bathroom never cleaned toilet didn`t flush properly ,shower slow to drain.milk out of date and the bedding disgusting. no frill round the base bed not made well had to redo it. Duvet inside the duvet cover was filthy I don`t think it had ever been washed since it was bought and that must have been years ago. Couldn`t move as you had to pay up front. 4 of us paid 900 euros. No refund. No bacon for breakfast when we asked for it they said they didn`t do bacon or brown sauce. I could go on and on.I took photos which with a report I am sending to the Irish Tourist Board as this B and B should not be allowed to continue serving tourists and them being ripped off.
the whole place was dirty and we weren`t the only people to complain either, most only stayed 1 or 2 nights unfortunately we had to stay 5. Ruined our holiday and it was the first time we had been to IRELAND never again if this is the kind of treatment to can expect to receive. The holiday was a birthday treat with my daughter her partner and my husband.

Had an appointment at St Vincent's hospital and cheap rooms are scarce in the area and I'm pretty sure they know it. €98 for a night in a fire trap that hasn't seen upkeep in about two decades. NOTHING is within 5 minutes walk. 1 star for all the free bottled water you can drink and the buffet breakfast was adequate.
