From the minute of arrival we were made to feel at home and taken into the garden for a much needed cuppa and homemade cake. We had a lovely chat and enjoyed the sun and the beautiful view. The host booked us a table at the local and it was a brilliant recommendation. Our super king bed looked like a work of art and felt we did not want to disturb the covers but at the same time could not wait to jump in. The room was just perfect with a great view comfy chair and lots of interesting bits and pieces. We loved it and also adored the ensuite with carpeted floor and fun pictures and cushion cover on the chair to match. The bed was a luxury! The whole house was full of beautiful pictures and furniture!! Breakfast was a treat, perfectly cooked breakfast and croissants - we won't mention the Grape Nuts!!!! We had a brilliant stay with such fun loving hosts with much laughter!! Thank you. Chris & Vee…

As others have said, when you stay here you do feel like you are staying at a friend's family home, and how refreshing it is. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very jolly and welcoming hosts, Madeleine and Marcus, who provided us with a welcome cup of tea and showed us to our room (the super kingsize). The room was pleasantly plush with homely and tasteful décor throughout and a very comfortable bed with a lavender pouch! Breakfast the following morning was very tasty with both full english and continental items. Highly recommended!

If you are tired of soulless corporate hotels and you are tired of small guest houses that have swamped with extras that have destroyed the atmosphere then Park House is for you. This is a Guest House in the true meaning of the phrase. You are a guest in Madeline’s house. The house is at the top of a 200 yard rising farm track which is easily negotiated. As a result of the climb, the house has magnificent views over the hills for several miles. The parking is a little random but just dump it anywhere. When you enter the house it is clear that this is their family home. I would guess that some children have left home and the couple decided to make a little money by letting the rooms. There are personal items – especially pictures – and ornaments everywhere. The double room was double aspect and was very large. The view was superb. None of the furniture matched but there was plenty of it. The bed was dressed to the hilt. And Madeline likes flowers so everything is very floral. The shower room unusually had carpet rather than tiles but it was dominated (and I mean dominated) by a fishing theme – the families main pursuit. Everything that you expect was there- tea/coffee, water, etc. And do read the compulsory fire notice which basically says we are not going to have a fire but in the unlikely event that we do then... Madeline and Martin were very friendly and want you to feel like friends (who just happen to be paying). Cooked breakfast was fine. Indeed Madeline’s own son was having the same when we went in the kitchen to say goodbye. The track to the house could be tricky to spot but Madeline sends detailed and accurate instructions which you should read and follow. The green B&B sign is not so small that you miss it so keep a good look out. If this sounds like your cup of tea (and Madeline will provide one) then go for it. …

Well, any place that puts a cup of tea in my hand almost the moment I walk in the door scores Brownie points. But this is just the start. Madeleine and Marcus make you most welcome to their lovely home, spacious, all tastefully furnished, interesting items and pictures collected over the years. We enjoyed chatting, and especially eating breakfast which includes Madeleine's own home made jams and marmalade. This is a perfect setting for a break away, like us, or for those who want a base for more sporting pursuits such as golf and fishing. Our hosts were very generous in helping us to plan our onward route, places to visit and where to stay. I would most definitely come back should I find myself in this neck of the woods again.
