I have never stayed in a place that charged so much for such poor condition. Carpets in the corridor were disgusting, and the place was so poorly lit, and run-down. You can only check-in at the bar, which means if it's busy, you'll have to wait for the bar staff to finish serving the non-staying customers their drinks before they even get round to serving you. This place is clearly not being maintained properly. I can't speak for the condition of other Penta Hotels (and I'm not sure I want to find out what they are like), but this place needs to pack up and leave town. What a disgrace.

Lovely looking hotel. Lovely bar but a shame the drinks are so expensive 2 small red wines was £17. The room was small but nice. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard. Loved the shower and had a lovely selection of movies on the tv. It was clean and the facilities was good. Body wash and shampoo and hand wash is in the bathroom. You get a hairdryer. I love the lighting at this place. In the room and bar. All the staff behind the bar was lovely, friendly and helpful. Also the cleaner was very helpful. Location is spot on.

I had to stop over for a night due to travel disruption. Hotel was ideal for what I needed, was clean and bed was comfortable. However, I left very unimpressed as I had been overcharged for my stay. I booked on booking.com, payment on arrival. When I arrived I was charged £25 more than the booking.com price. Receptionist said this was just a pre-authorisation and would be credited back to me? Why wasn’t I told this or explained to me before a payment was taken (I was already out of pocket for the travel disruptions). I have been told that the £25 overcharge will be refunded within 5 days which is of absolutely no help to me at all. I just need to wait and see if it actually is refunded as I’ve been told conflicting information.

Popped in for a quick pint. Very limited draught choice. No labels on font fronts so opted for a Guinness....only to be told they only had cans. Guy opened it before I had a chance to say yes or no. Came over with card reader and i tapped it. ..never told me the price. Checked my phone and it was a quite ridiculous £6.20!!!! For a can of Guinness!

It's unfortunate to hear that your experience with our bar service did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide clear communication and exceptional service, so we regret any oversight in informing you of the price beforehand. What's not to like about this place? I was here for one night in October to visit the oil rigs in Cromarty. Checked in mid-afternoon, and was out by 830am the following morning. I thought this was a really nice place to stay and will likely be the first option next time I'm in Inverness. I was originally looking at the Travelodge across the street and the Royal Highland Hotel next to the train station but ended up going with Penta. First time staying at a Penta, but it seemed a little like IHG's Indigo brand. Quirky and no two are the same. The "front desk" is also the hotel bar as the enter the premises. Overall is darkly lit, but it has a nice vibe to it. Room was comfortable, warm and well-appointed for a budget hotel. I made a reservation at the Travelodge but cancelled it. I just felt that I was getting nickle and dimed as I was ready to make a reservation. Penta just seemed so much easier. Had also considered the Royal Highland but they had zero availability the weekend I was trying to reserve, but when I visited the hotel they didn't seem busy at all. My room was small, but with a king bed. Never felt cramped. Room was laid out appropriately. The hotel has an onsite restaurant, which I did not eat at. But there are many dining options for all tastes. If you love Indian, there are at least 3 within a 3 minute walk of the hotel. I hope you enjoyed t as much as I did!

We were very excited to stay at this chic hotel which we booked More than nine months in advance. (12/22). However when we arrived after a 12 hour plane ride from Florida to London, and then 5 more hours waiting on a plane in London for the trip to Inverness, we went to check in and were told they were over booked and we would have to go to another hotel, when we were asked why our reservation was not honored, they told us it was because we hadn’t been there before. We then had a 10 minute walk with all our luggage to the other hotel. I have no plans to ever book there again and if you are looking for a new hotel, don’t bother booking there. It seems like a very unethical way to run a hotel. The staff also acting like they really didn’t care at all, the manager made no attempt to even talk to us or apologize. It was a really bad way to start a trip we were really looking forward to.

We strive to provide our guests with the very best customer service and whilst we are by no means perfect, we do work hard to improve and respond to any feedback, good or bad. I am sorry to read that due to a system issue you were unable to stay with us. I can assure you this is not a common occurrence and I can also assure you that the person you dealt with on the night was our Manager on Duty. I will be sure to pass your comments to our team and I do hope you will accept our apologies for the issues you encountered. Sincerely, Christopher Angus & Team penta-Inverness

Very good location (near the bus and train stations), clean rooms, modern hotel. Also near M&S food where you can buy your groceries. It's also a very near walk from the river. Would highly recommend if you are staying in Inverness for a few days.

Perfect location, a very short walk to the train station, shopping center, restaurants, and tour pick up spots. Room was comfortable, spacious, quiet and filled with natural light. I wish I added breakfast as service started at 6:30 night next to lobby.

Using this hotel as a base s we have been in and out of In Ernest. Disappointed that we arrived early, had requested early check in, paid for a Penta plus room with twin beds and had the smallest room possible with a king bed. We managed but considering we had booked 9 months ago wasn’t pleased. On the other hand, beds good, shower great and great location. Friendly staff. Will be back again in a couple of days.

I think we all have to be realistic about the market this hotel is aiming at and it's hitting the spot. My stay was not planned (car accident) and I was initially looking at premier Inn which ticks a lot of boxes also but this was same price, better breakfast, lovely room, comfy bed with fabulous shower, more up market interior, wonderful young and pleasant staff all working and trying hard, and bang in the centre of Inverness. Absolutely wonderful 😊
