My wife and I stayed here for an overnight on the 14th November 2020.

We had been looking at a last minute place to stay and saw that this hotel was offering a deal for bed and breakfast for just £55.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past under it's previous names- Milton, Hallmark and Menzies. The hotel has always been a good experience for us and we love the atmosphere of the place and the swimming pool and breakfast was always brilliant.

This time was a very different experience for us.

We arrived at 2.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was absolutely deserted. The car park had 1 other car in it and there was no-one at the reception.

A very helpful maintenance man greeted us and gave us our room keys etc.

We were on the 6th floor- room 612 which was spacious and clean. We didn't see another soul on our way to the room and the swimming pool and dining area was all closed.

The hotel is in a great location just a 5/10 minute walk to the city centre.

The breakfast was just a bag left outside our room in the morning with porridge, a croissant and some orange juice.

We really enjoyed our stay considering the situation and for £55 can't complain about some of the facilities being closed.

Hi scottc 1985, Many thanks for the kind review the you have left. I am glad that you are have chosen to stay with us and that you have stayed with the hotel during its different names and brands. We love when our guests return, which makes us believe we are doing something right. Due to the Covid situation there are less staff available and as a result we all multi-task as shown when you met our friendly maintenance manager, Walter. I hope that you will continue to use the hotel in the future, when we can host our full range of facilities. All the best.

I booked this on a deal for a wee overnighter for my dad. You get use of the spa/pool facilities which was a draw for us. Breakfast was included and a bottle of house wine (you get a voucher when you check in).

The reception area is lovely, clearly has been done up and lovely first impression.

The pool is quite small and some of it was closed off when we where in for swimming lessons. They provide you with towels if needed, you can take your own. There are lockers for use, you just need a pound coin which you get back. The Jacuzzi is really nice and my dad really liked the steam room and sauna, there is also a shower between them so you can rinse of inbetween.

We went down later to get the wine but it was all closed down at 22:38 (the check in sheet advises it would be open til I am sure midnight). Not a big deal but I couldn't see anywhere to get juice, there had been a vending machine in the spa reception but it was closed.

The rooms need a bit of tlc but they are mostly spotless. The tv channels are very basic (channel 3, cbeebies and I think 3 others). It is a Samsung tv though so you can get radio stations and it has a usb port so if spending any kind of time in the room you may want you laptop or some other kind of entertainment system.

The rooms are non smoking but you can sit out on the benches just at the entrance. I couldn't see any ashtrays so my dad just extinguished his butts and took them with him.

The bath is fabulous, roasting water and great flow, they also provide a bathmat to prevent slipping and the body/hand wash/shampoo provided they are really nice.

Could not work out the heating despite following the diagram.

There was a phone in the room which I liked, not all hotels seem to have that these days. There was also one out on the corridor floor which I think is a good idea. Hand sanitizer at the lifts too.

Breakfast was included in our deal but we didn't make it down. We also had a late check out, 1pm, check in was 4pm. So for £69 really close to center of town, a bottle of wine, breakfast and spa & gym access it is good value.

Also just to highlight the member of staff Jess that was on reception when we called to ensure our booking. She could not be more helpful or polite, a credit to your hotel and made me look forward to our visit. I wish all the staff could be as professional, friendly and kind.

As a frequent visitor to the Hallmark Glasgow Hotel,I decided to take some of my family. Can I please first and foremost say a massive thank you to Miguel Martinns. Miguel once again went above and beyond to make sure we 4 adults and 4 children all stayed in rooms next to each other not only that upgraded us to 3 apartments on the 1st floor and provided extra beds. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed for a great family stay. The leisure facilities are amazing and the children thoroughly enjoyed using them. We all had dinner in the restaraunt which we had to wait some time for but we did enjoy once we received it. We did not let this dampen our stay as it was promptly dealt with in the morning by the reception team. I would like to say a big thank you to Miguel and the team for making our stay once again exceptional. Looking forward to our next stay with you 😊.

Let’s start with the positives, the hotel is in a great location and Uber makes it very easy to get around. The hotel was nice and clean and the leisure facilities looked fab but we didn’t get a chance to use them.
However our room was very disappointing, it was clearly outdated and could do with a freshen up as there was a slight smell, there was no chair for the dressing table - or a mirror on it either so I ended up taking a mirror from above a tall set of draws to be able to use it, the room was also incredibly dark - but the bathroom had a bath and surrounding mirrors which was nice.
We then booked on for breakfast which was around £10 per head, a fair price but when we went down for it someone had used our room number so this caused an issue, we then got some fruit and drinks which were fine, then went for pastries which were stale and the bread for toast had a slight bit of mould in - we quietly mentioned this to a member of breakfast staff who couldn’t have cared less and then we left unhappy with it all.
We informed the reception as we left who told us she would take this further but weren’t offered anything of goodwill.
Based on this visit I would not stay again as it was overall disappointing.

I was very disappointed after my 2 night stay in the Glasgow Hallmark on the weekend of 18th and 19th of October. My husband and I booked in for a treat after coming to Glasgow for a hospital appointment and were very disappointed with our stay. We booked for bed and breakfast for 2 nights and on Saturday we experienced the worst breakfast service we have ever had. The bread was mouldy and had to be pointed out to the waitress, they consistently ran out of tea, coffee and juices and we had to sit waiting for half an hour before the empty hot food was replenished. Definitely not the service I would expect from a 4 star hotel. We also were quite disappointed to find that instead of replacing our complimentary toiletries from the previous occupants of the room they had just been left for us to use half empty. I have tried to complain about these issues to the hotel many times but have recieved no satisfactory response. They clearly feel no remorse or desire to solve my issues.

The staff at this hotel were lovely. Chris on reception couldn't have been more helpful, rang our room a short while after check in to ask if our room was alright. We asked for extra pillows and they arrived 10 mins later. We didn't have much time to eat before we left for our concert at the Armadillo but the bar staff made sure we were served quickly. They were also very helpful, offered to ring for a taxi for us.
The food was ok and the prices reasonable. Breakfast was good, not the biggest choice I've seen but it was hot and well cooked. We were warmly greeted by a member of staff who showed us around all the various buffet sections , the first time this has happened in any hotels I've stayed in which was really nice.
We were a little disappointed with our room. There were no little touches like on the website photos, bed runners, cushions nor bedside lamps and the view from the window is a brick wall. I agree with other reviews, there is an odd smell in the room and corridors but it's not overpowering, just strange. The furniture is quite tired looking but this seems to be a problem with many hotels, there is such pressure for things to be modern and pristine, it must be very difficult to keep up and very expensive to do so.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but mainly due to the lovely and helpful staff. We would return thanks to their care & attention.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking time to give us a very thorough review about your recent stay at the hotel. I am happy to hear you had a very pleasant stay and our staff went beyond to make sure your stay was even more comfortable. I will pass on your comment to Chris as he will be thrilled to hear about it. Our best features is in fact our location which is extremely beneficial for the guests who look for to do some shopping in city centre or attend events at the Hydro or Armadillo. Regarding breakfast I am sorry you found the buffet selection limited, which I will pass on your comments to our breakfast and kitchen team so more variety can be offered to the guest. Bed runners, cushions, bedside lamps are in the process of being changed as part of the full refurbishment taking place this year. We will be looking forward to welcoming you back soon again. Kind regards, Miguel Martins

Stayed here last night (Saturday) for 1 night. Firstly a big thank you to Miguel. It was a special occasion for my partner and myself so I emailed the hotel and on arrival we were quickly checked in by Irene and told we were upgraded to the Empire suite from the double room I had booked, thank you so much you really made our weekend and the suite was lovely 😁.

The hotel reception and bar are very nice and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We hadn't booked breakfast but at £8.50 per person we decided to book, so glad we did. The breakfast was excellent plenty of choice for everyone, just what we needed before heading back to the city centre for our journey home. The room breakfast was in was very nice, the food was good and the two young ladies working in the morning were very pleasant and helpful.

As I said we got a suite, it was clean with everything you need and more, slippers, bathrobe, tea and coffee etc. The bed was very comfy we both had a great sleep.

We had planned to use the pool etc but didn't unfortunately have time in the end up. However the pool and jacuzzi looked lovely and it wasn't busy at all.

Secure parking is available if needed but it's only a short walk to the train station if you are using public transport.

Thanks again for a great stay we will definitely be returning. If it wasn't for work commitments I would have stayed an extra night.

See you again soon.

Booked into the Glasgow Argyle Boutique Hotel for my partners birthdays. As he has a busy and hectic live I wanted to ensure that he had plenty of space to relax and unwind and just have a couple of days to himself. I booked a loft suite to ensure that he had the space to do just that. We weren’t disappointed with the space. Very large living area, with space to dine behind lounge. Bathroom was also very large and added bonus being a 4 piece as it was only advertised with a bath. The mezzanine area upstairs was also generous in size with a very large comfy bed and a second tv also. The pool was more than adequate for what we wanted with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. With plenty of choice for breakfast we didn’t go hungry and again plenty of choice on the menu for lunch which was lovely. The hotel is in a slightly quieter part of the town, which suited us as we wanted to be away from all of the noise the nighttime brings, but still close enough to be in the thick of it should you want to be.

Few negatives - Room wasn’t cleaned fully, the shower was a bit grimy and the floor wasn’t brushed properly as could feel the dirt on my feet when I removed my shoes. There was also a pasta pot in the cupboard, that should have been removed. The sofa and chairs although modern looking was not the most comfy, I kept slipping off and could not support my back due to style. No spare blanket either, which is normal in rooms. Carpet in hallway was really untidy looking and didn’t look as if it had been hoovered at all in days. 4pm check in is pretty late, but not a deal breaker. Parking is across from hotel which is great, however the hotel says you can’t book prior to arrival and the charge is £12 per night, yet I booked through an app days before arriving and paid £7 a night with a £0.99 booking fee, so £14.99 all in for the 2 nights, saving £9 with a guaranteed parking slot.

All in the hotel was very good and would most definitely return again, however should the cleanliness not be up to standard for the cost paid, I will be saying something this time round.

There are not many centrally placed hotels with parking and well-equipped gym at affordable prices. This hotel backs onto Argyll Street and is less than 10 minutes walk to the Central Railway Station. Secure parking available directly across from the hotel for £10 /night for guests. Very close proximity to the M8, rooms were clean and comfortable with TV, tea and coffee available in the room.

We were extremely disappointed with the Hallmark Hotel. It is certainly not a 4 star Hotel and you quickly realise that when you enter the hotel. The location is in an area that has no restaurants etc and I would advise getting a taxi into town at night time. The rooms were cold with dirty carpets and walls and worn furniture. The changing rooms in the swimming pool were also rundown and dirty.

It’s 3.1 miles from the Hallmark Hotel and reception can book you a taxi via a direct line, which comes immediately... Cost I’m unsure about but maybe the hotel can advise on this.
