The Novotel Glasgow Centre Hotel boasts a prime central location lauded by guests, though it's not quite on High street. Service is typically regarded as friendly and professional, but some guests feel improvements could be made in responsiveness and room upkeep. Opinions on the hotel's atmosphere are divided; some describe the decor as bland, while others enjoy the spaciousness.
Despite the appreciated amenities like minibars and welcome gifts, the perceived lack of value due to basic offerings and missing features like AC has been a concern. Room experiences vary, with cleanliness receiving both praise and critique.

We spent our 14 day quarantine at Novotel and it felt just like home. As we were not supposed to go out everything was delivered to our room. Even food delivery booked through app was delivered to our room. The room cleaning wont be done if you are under quarantine but everything you need like new towels or bedsheets etc would be provided on request. Only continental breakfast is delivered to your room and not hot breakfast but you will still be charged with £12. But they make this clear when you check-in so its on you to include breakfast. Overall the experience was great and would definitely visit again.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The room was spacious and clean. It had been stripped of items which might encourage Covid transmission so no info pack, menus, writing pad & pen etc. Minibar fridge was empty but there to use. Iron and board in cupboard. A kettle is supplied in the room with a plastic bag of tea/coffee/sugar/wooden stirrers/disposable paper cups so all feels a bit budget at the moment.
Shower room was clean and had shower gel/shampoo and handwash provided. All very clean. Separate WC. Comfortable bed, decent lighting and TV. Desk to work at.
The only breakfast on offer is continental at £12 - it didn't seem worth the money when we saw the choice. There may be a limited room service menu like pizza but plenty of eating and drinking options a short walk from the hotel.
Limited parking is available at £8 per entry/exit - don't use this if you plan to go in and out a lot in your vehicle as it would add up! Basement parking is tight for headroom and maneuverability if you have a bigger car.
Front desk staff (Valerie ?) was very friendly and helpful. Nice lady.
It's a bit of a walk to the main shops/station etc of centre but quiet enough with amenities nearby. Not sure what the extortionate rack rates posted behind reception are about - who'd pay that? For the right price it's a decent place to stay but like most Novotels lacks character.

+1
Perfect location for Glasgow centre with a whole lot of restaurants, bars and takeout nearby. Hotel itself offers limited parking spaces for £8 but that isn’t per day and you have to pay that every time you exit the car park. On street parking (free from 6pm to 8am) in front is £1 for 15 minutes for shorter duration parking. They also have a tie up with an NCP parking nearby to offer £8 for 24 hours.
We stayed as a family in one of their “superior” rooms which has a king size bed and a double size sofa bed. During COVID they suspended daily room cleaning and provide it on demand for stays longer than 3 nights but we found this very inconvenient as towels don’t dry up quick enough and there isn’t much space to dry them. Upon arrival the room we were allocated didn’t have hand wash or shampoo/shower gel so got moved to a different room. They got rid of the phones in the rooms and so for all things you will need to go down to reception (which is always busy). The bathroom design was a separate sink/shower and toilet (this didn’t include a washbasin to wash hands). Neither of these had latches and while this may be okay for a single occupant it isn’t suitable for more people in the room. There is a mini fridge, coffee/tea making facilities (including a nespresso machine with pods provided), iron/ironing board, wardrobe with hangers and some shelves (very convenient). A small TV is wall mounted adjacent to the table and a large mirror. Air conditioning is heating only with “default” temperature set to 21 degrees and only option to heat up the rooms which must be okay except for a few days in summer.
The breakfast option is highly recommended with croissants, waffles, coffee/tea, cereals, yogurts, toast, hot food (scrambled/fries eggs,..). Vegetarian sausages are available on demand and they also have a pancake machine which also has a viewing window which is very popular with young kids.
Hotel staff are very COVID safe and I see them using gloves, masks and hand sanitizer regularly. They also keep the hotel clean which helps give you confidence about the COVID safety.
Overall impression of the hotel is average but credit to the very friendly and helpful staff who despite being very busy helped everyone as best as they could.

The accommodation was booked at the time of the 'black Friday' sale and was part of a trip to try out a new rail service from the North West of England to Glasgow. The stay was very good value for money given the rating of the hotel, and the room was comfortable and well appointed. However, dinner in the Gourmet bar on the first night was of indifferent quality and although the range of options at breakfast was enormous, on both mornings much of the hot food was mediocre and at best tepid. The hotel clearly needs to address its catering facilities.

On arrival, I was shocked to find that the hotel parking was fully reserved. If I had known that there was a problem like this, I would have chosen a different hotel. I do not recollect seeing any warning on Accor's website that parking needed to be reserved in advance.
Fortunately, I had arrived at the weekend, when street parking is free. The hotel has 4 or 5 (un)loading only parking bays which can be used when checking in or out. If you can't get into the hotel car park, There is a public car park near the station, whose normal parking tarriifs are extortionate. However, the hotel has arranged a concessionary rate for clients, which is something like £19.50 per day.
The hotel does not have a restaurant. Instead they have a "food bar". If it follows the same model as some of the newer Novotels in France, then it is probable that food is available 24/7, but I am not sure of this. I did not use the food bar or take breakfast. My GF used the food bar and had no complaint.
The hotel upgraded my room when they observed my dis-satisfaction with the parking arrangements.

This is a great hotel to escape for a weekend in the city. Its located only 2 very short blocks from Sauchiehall Street and 10 min walk to the main shopping areas and numerous restaurants in Glasgow's west end are nearby. The check-in was very fast and efficient and the room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It got a little hot (with 4 people in it) at night and even at 3am, I was able to order a fan to cool it down. There is limited parking below the hotel and was only £8 for the night and we were able to leave the car till 2pm the next day (which was a weekend). Nice bar with good service as well to round off the night too. Will definitely be back!

Wonderfull service, the staff was always incredibly nice and helpful. Breakfast was fine and the floor was thankfully quiet. The heating in our room did not seem to be working but reception sent up a small heater which did the job perfectly. Ordered the asian bowl and soup of the day from room service one night and both were lovely. The hotel is in a great location, near some great restaurants and eateries, as well as a handy stop for the hop-on/hop-off bus or an easy walk to the centre. Towels were a bit small and the twin beds were quite narrow, which can be a problem if you tend to move a lot in your sleep or are on the heavier side. However, I am sure the wonderful staff will have a solution for you in no time.

I’m genuinely shocked at the good reviews on here and wondering if we stayed at the same place! Firstly, the rooms are extremely basic, not 4* at all, no clue how they got that rating. There is no plugs by the bed, I need my phone near me as I’m here on business so couldn’t charge it overnight.
There is no cleaning service, no idea why? When I checked in I was told no one would be cleaning my room and to tell them if I needed more towels. I’m sorry but one of the good things about a hotel is having your room cleaned everyday, so that was a big disappointment.
Then there was breakfast,.. the choice of food was ok but to say it was a bun fight was an understatement. I never even got a cup of tea as there was a constant queue of people waiting, as you have to make your own… yes they still try and disguise this place as a 4*!!
Lastly, the masks… I am exempt from wearing a mask due to extreme claustrophobia. However, I was constantly told by staff to wear a mask (I am double vaccinated too may I add). They don’t seem to think exemptions exist and I was constantly made to wear a mask which made me extremely uncomfortable.
The hotel was impersonal, basic and I hope to never come back.

My wife and I stayed here pre-CIE tour. Our flight arrived early so we expected we would have to wait for a room but David at the front desk got us into a room right away. It was an accessible room so perhaps our bathroom was different than other rooms. The sink, toilet and shower/bath were all in the same room so when one person was using it the other could not brush teeth or shave. Our room had a safe in the room but other members of our tour said that their's did not so check with the desk if that is important. The bed was comfortable and the hallway was quiet so sleeping was not a problem.
Our interaction with staff was very positive. David went out of the way to print out a map of City Centre and point out locations of restaurants and stores. Simon and Tonya (sp?) in the bar were very personable and attentive. Wew had nice conversations with both and they each made a point to smile and say hello whenever they saw us. Our meals at the hotel were part of the tour package so I can't comment on the regular menu.
