Hotel's Favourite
Stayed there on two different visits. Liked very much! Centrally located, to the train station and the bus-stop to/from Glasgow Airport. Very nice breakfast in the morning and a nice and small bar with a delicious pizza in the evening meal. Retro music ambiance includes Vinyls, CDs and radios. Nice Pool table to play with a glass of drink. Rooms are spacious and well lit. Umbrella can be borrowed from the reception during the rainy day. I like goodies/sweets at the reception! Nice staff with service oriented including the Manager himself.

Room cosy, bed and pillows perfect, bathroom spotless, shower presure was fabulous, breakfast buffet plentiful, fresh and delicious. Every single member of staff was delightful so chatty friendly and most of all helpful. I would single a few out and hope I get the mames right. Jim, the evening barman is so lovely and what a character, made us laugh and feel right at home. Conor on the "piano" receiption desk was so helpful, welcolming, friendly and had so much time to give us information. Hayley on the bar/cafe was just lovely. Remembered little things so we felt we were valued customers on our return. Karmen was also charming and helpful. Others were also lovely but unfortunately I didnt get their names.
When I requested anything it was brought in mins to my room nothing was a problem.
Had a couple of lunches and evening meals which were nice standard grub at reasonably low prices for Glasgow City Centre. Fries are fab. and I dont really like fries.
Quirky decor adds plenty of character and the music in the bar and restaurant is just wonderful for my taste. Sang along at each meal and couldnt help myself having a little dance now and then.
Free tea coffee and Hot Chocolate and little muffins were available 24 hours.
I will be back in Glasgow in 6 weeks for another 4 days and I will be staying here.
Negatives
I have to really "nit pick" here-
The shower tray was a bit shallow for the power of the shower and overflowed but not a problem if you turn presure down slightly and it was still a really great presure.
One night (out of my 4) there was a noisy crowd in the bar and as I was a room directly over the bar I got a bit of noise but it was over about 12. Early morning noise from construction site accross the road. So much development ongoing in the city it would be hard to get anywhere there was no construction. Maybe
avoid the 1st floor room if your are
an early to bed person.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
It’s what I’d call a high-end budget hotel. Modern standard rooms with everything you need for a short stay. You get coffee and tea making facilities, a decent hair drier, clothes iron and ironing board and a large TV with terrestrial channels hanging on the wall. Not a lot of storage space and only about four clothes hangers in the cupboard but enough for a short stay.
You can easily replenish coffee and tea and milk from the lounge area, which has tables and settees, a hot drinks machine (free to use) and a billiard table. There’s a bar, a coffee bar and you can order food too. The menu is limited but there are plenty of restaurants a stone’s throw from the hotel. Likewise, Glasgow Central station is also about a five minute walk from the hotel.
The staff are absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. Plus there are nice little touches such as Tunnock’s tea cakes and a couple of cans of Irn Bru in your room when you arrive. On Fridays they leave a box of Crunchie bars in the lounge area, which are free to take. Naughty but nice.
The beds are comfortable, the blackout curtains work well and I couldn’t hear any noise from anywhere at night. The rooms are air conditioned. You can’t open the windows as it has a modern ducted (and I assume filtered) air system. So even if the air conditioning is off you always hear a gentle whooshing from the ducted air system but you really don’t notice it. These are really common now and mean that when you turn the lights on in the toilet and shower room you don’t have the grinding noise of a fan, for which I am extremely grateful. The shower is really excellent!
This is not the sort of hotel where you would want to spend a lot of time in your room. Not sure it would be entirely suitable for someone doing serious work on their laptop. You get a small table with a comfortable relaxing chair plus footstool and that’s it. So if you are a couple only one person gets to sit on the chair. There were people working downstairs in the lounge at the tables (though as there’s always music in playing that might be difficult for some). There are no fixed phones in your room. You can use WhatsApp to contact the staff. WiFi is good here.
So it’s the sort of hotel which you would use as a base from which to explore the delights of Glasgow (and it is a delightful city), rather than a luxury experience or someone working away from home where you need a decent office plus meeting rooms. And it does this really well.
As ever, it’s the staff who make it and I have to say they were really friendly and helpful.
We were met by Elli who realised that we weren’t a part of the large party of Dutch visitors who had arrived at the same time as we did. She very quickly checked us in and made sure that we weren’t kept waiting. Very impressive.

My reservation was for the George Square location, I was moved here due to some problem at the 1st. These folks had a send-out laundry service, which I used once. Theirs was cheaper than the Edinburgh service, as it was a price set for one bag full of clothes that could be washed together in one load. I got a lot in it! And washed underwear and socks in the room. The hotel was nice, clean, and staffed with helpful people. Breakfast was pretty much as lackluster as others, and there was no porridge. i had cereal and scrambled eggs each day. There was also a street-facing restaurant and bar which was busy most nights. The room was high up, with a view down into the street below, or across into the windows of an office building. On weekdays I could see people arriving for work, getting coffee, putting their lunches away. Comfortable room, plenty of outlets and charging ports, nice shower.

I dont normally take the time out to write reviews, but felt compelled to write this because of the standard of service and quality of the hotel that I received at a time when the hospitality is being hit hard.
From the moment you walk into the lobby that smells like cinammon buns, you know you've found a jewel of a hotel!!
Every care was taken by the team to make us feel comfortable- like a home from home- whilst also ensuring safety standards are met.
The hotel has a great selection for breakfast, which is made better by the recently introduced idea of having breakfast items sent to your room should you not feel comfortable eating in the restaurant.
The bedroom felt really modern and spotless!
Llocation wise, this hotel is fantastic. stones throw from the bars, restaurants and shops!
Best hotel in Glasgow without doubt!

This hotel is in a fab location, around a 7 minute walk from Glasgow Central Station. Despite being in the city centre the rooms are quiet so we had a great sleep.
The hotel is spotless and the design concept is fab. There was a drum kit in the middle of the breakfast buffet and check in is at a grand piano! It didn’t feel over cool or too hipster though and I was pleased to recognise the names of my era of bands on the bathroom wall.
The best thing was the Tinderbox Lounge with comfy chairs, free coffee/ tea/ juice/ pastries, muffins, newspapers and Bt sports tvs. What more could a mother and 17 yr old son want! The staff were so friendly and helpful, remembering that we were stranded from Arran and asking about ferry updates and getting us a room with no fuss for an extra night.
Really enjoyed the breakfast too and it was a pleasant change from a fry up. There was a selection of mueslis, cereals, fruit, yogurt, cheese, meats, gluten free table, toast, boiled eggs, pastries. Lovely seeds and dried fruit toppings for porridge etc.
Will definitely choose this place again over the other city centre places which although great can be a bit lacking in personality. This place has heaps of charm and character and even live music at the weekends. Top marks and thank you very much!

I decided to book for this hotel after a superb stay last year for the European Athletics Indoor Championships at Emirates Arena.
It was an athletics event which brought me to Glasgow again, this time for the British Athletics Indoor Championships.
As with my previous visit upon arrival I received a friendly welcome and efficient check in at the front desk.
My room was thoroughly clean again with all the necessary amenities available for a short stay. On the table was a lovely personal welcome message from Rory & his team, little touches like this do make a difference... although I'd sooner have Tunnocks Caramel Wafers than Teacakes for my sweet treats :-p
Absolutely love this hotel for its superb standard of WiFi, guests have the freedom to stream iPlayer or Netflix to the TV in their room if they want to kick back after a day of strolling around the city.
There were a couple of minor issues with the bathroom as the door lock was jammed so it wouldn't lock and the waterproof strip at the bottom of the shower door was a bit leaky. But neither were big issues and the receptionist stated she'd get the maintenance team to deal with it when I informed them at check out time.
Breakfast was fantastic, the continental buffet has so much variety it should please the vast majority of guests. There's even gluten free options available for coeliac guests. Some people may miss there's not a hot breakfast option, but it didn't bother me in the slightest.
Prior to my arrival I received superb service as I emailed to request a room in a quieter area of the hotel (this was ready upon arrival) and they also contacted a taxi company for me to check trips to/from the arena for the event I was attending.
Thank you to all the staff at Ibis Styles Glasgow Centre West for yet another amazing stay. I will definitely be looking to book in again next time I'm up in Glasgow.

For the purposes of being upfront, the issue was sorted (mostly) upon mentioning it to the front desk, but it was too late. I showed up at the hotel early and was told that my room was already ready for me (great). Upon getting to the room, I noticed that it hadn't been cleaned (at all). There was a dirty and hairy used towel on the unmade/used bed, paperwork from the previous guest, a used cup and the hairdryer was still plugged in. I then checked the bathroom where I found a used cotton bud, scrunched used towel, used bathmat and dirt in the shower. I was able to switch rooms after talking to the front desk, but they "got management to check that the next room was ready", from the tone it seemed like they didn't believe me and they, in fact, went to check the previous room. The new room was mostly clean (minus the kettle, cups, table and spoons which I cleaned). Usually, I wouldn't bother writing a negative review, but I feel with the current climate and the focus on cleaning that this wasn't acceptable in the slightest.

Louise This one stings a bit. We had a wee system glitch and rooms that were not clean were showing as clean and checked and hence we checked you in to a dirty room. We apologised as soon as you contacted us and moved you rooms and sent an apology gift and drinks and we still get a 1 star review. Seems a little harsh but given the 100s of reviews on this site that say we are super clean ill take yours on the chin, Rory

For a budget hotel, only £67 for the night including breakfast for 2 people, I didn’t expect anything special. But wow! These guys go above and beyond to ensure your stay is a memorable experience. We were staying for one night to visit the restaurant ‘Two Fat ladies at the Buttery’ for my husband’s birthday so booked this hotel due to its close location to this venue.
I mentioned it was my husband’s birthday to the hotel and Kirsty the reception manager said she’d leave us a ‘wee something’ 🙂 When we got to our room the hotel had left us this lovely hand written note for my husband and a voucher for a couple of drinks in the bar on the house. It was such a lovely surprise and lots of more expensive hotels wouldn’t bother doing anything, so 10/10 for this hotel’s complimentary gift.
The accommodation itself is very trendy with music themed rooms and very tastefully done. Very modern, clean and with a huge double shower, hair dryer, iron and tea and coffee facilities - What more could you want? You even get a free crunchie on the way in and bottles of Irn Bru and tea cakes in your room. Again, great little touches.
If you are looking to stay in Glasgow, look no further. I don’t think you’d better this hotel for quality, customer service or price.

The hotel is nice, really well decorated, hipster style and comfortable. We paid the higher rate to include breakfast. The breakfast was terrible! The continental style was ok, but the hot breakfast was really limited. Tinned baked beans and lots of different meats. I asked if I could have some tomatoes or mushrooms, but they just said no sorry we don’t do them. There were fresh tomatoes on the continental breakfast so it wouldn’t have been hard to grill some. I was offered some veggie sausages cooked to order they took ages and my partners had finished his food well before i got mine. The bread was cheap sliced loaf , I asked if they had brown but was offered a 50/50 type of bread.
I went to get scrambled eggs and someone had used a meaty spoon so I scooped that bit out into another dish before getting some, and then I watched a member of staff put the meaty eggs back in the main egg dish afterwards . It was all really Just really unhygienic and sparse
