We have stayed here many times and after the debacle of our last stay, vowed never to stay again. However it has changed ownership and the new owners have made huge strides in updating the place. I have followed the upgrades on their facbook page and had no hesitation to book rooms here for our trip home. The rooms are far better than they were previously and nicely updated to match. The public areas still need work, but I am sure that they will get done in time. We had no hot water the first morning but once reported to the staff it was immediately taken care off and fixed. The staff are awesome. Cannot say enough good things about them. The breakfasts were good and plentiful and the evening meals were a joy. Only negative point I would like to point out is you need some k(bud of non slip matting or something in the shower stall. They really are treacherous when wet. Overall a nice stay and we will be back.

What a lovely afternoon tea we experienced at Oswald House. It was Samantha, our server’s first time serving and she was very attentive, polite and such a friendly smile! Lovely food, really tasty menu. Extra special treat of the Prosecco on the house! Thank you

Had a birthday night away here. Very welcoming staff who showed us to our rooms. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Good hospitality tray and carafe of water in room. We were also offered water at bedtime. Dinner was very tasty and we realised neither of us had used any seasoning - it was all perfectly seasoned. Breakfast had great choices and again very well cooked. View from dining room looked into park which was nice at dinner and breakfast. This is a lovely hotel and I’d highly recommend it

The location is nice, we were told that we would have a sea view, but when you know its 2.5 miles from the sea and has a wooded parkland area, we didn't expect a full sea view, so we weren't disappointed - to see the sea was a skill! Our room was disappointing. On arrival the staff were very pleasant and showed us to our room. Looked very nice, I would class it as traditional Scottish, not the most modern (Room 4 - beware!). We nipped down for a pre dinner drink and as there were a couple of functions on our seating spaces were limited, so we just headed to the dinning room. Dinner was nice and most people in the room were clearing their plates. However, when we got to our room, we had no hot water or heating. I nipped to reception and they explained that the room is on its own immersion heater and that it should have been switched on. They provided an oil radiator for the room and reset the hot water. At least we had hot water for showers. The room radiator never heated up over the whole weekend, so the small radiator provided was a godsend but on the Sunday morning we had no hot water and when did we discover this, when we went for showers, not the best stay, having to have a cold shower on a nice and relaxing Sunday. Breakfasts were acceptable, but the quality and the staff were better on the Sunday morning than on the Saturday. I would recommend if you pick this location stay away from room 4. (Stay was also very loud due to families having discussions and letting their kids run along the corridors early in the morning.)

Beautiful place and building with plenty of character. Nicely greeted and told that we had breakfast included which was a surprise, I didn’t see that online. Room was large but had a broken window they told us about on arrival, did think it was strange we had to stay in there as the hotel seemed so quiet but it caused no issues. Price was reasonable and food was great, dinner and breakfast.

Enquired about a weekend stay say it is a dog freindly hotel they are not allowed to stay only in the bar misleading wasting our time how can this a dog freindly hotel should put down as not unless you want to sleep in bar .very disappointing when phoned I waited for a call back as didn't have a price seemed reasonable .got call back got the information above . Either you are not dog friendly or you are do not give false information to customers I can comment about hotel service as it long way to go just for a drink and rooms also I can't comment on as l not allowed in unless I get a kennal for the dogs and sleep outside.

My wife and I stayed a couple of nights here this week. We experienced both a double bedroom and the bridal suite - both were excellent. I have included a lot of photos to show the lovely charactor of the building. Like other reviews , finding the access road to Oswald House/ Dunniker Park is a bit of a challenge, but believe me it's worth it. It's right next to Dunniker Golf Club. We had meals in the hotel both evenings, with pre-meal drinks in the lovely characterful bar. So relaxing. The meals themselves were superb, the prawn starter so so good that both my wife and I had it each evening, with the monkfish main one night, and the beef stroganoff the other. After the meal we went throught to the lounge/reception area and sat next to the hugh beatiful fireplace with it's lovely log fire. The staff couldn't be more helpful, with particular mention to Amy who dealt with everthing in a helpful, friendly, and profesional manner. Do yourself a favour and book a break here before too many people latch onto it's charm. !! Regards, Sailbluesail (Jim)

New menu...superb! Fiance and I opted to try the new menu and were not disappointed. French Onion Soup beautifully gooey & cheesy and I love the King Prawns. Super tasty. Venison well cooked and beautifully presented and was my Fiancès Chicken with Orza Pasta. Finished off with lovely cheesecake and toffee muffin desserts! 👌 Service was great. Very attentive without over bearing. Decor looking great in the main rooms. Place is coming along fantastically. Lovely evening!

Road signs were inadequate at the time of our visit. Go to Dunniker Way, find Kirkcaldy High School, and take the road on east side of school leading to golf course. The hotel is an old building that was recently refurbished. Room clean, quiet, comfortable bed. Bathroom and shower, hot water delivery had long delay. We had breakfast and evening meal twice. Food good. Would be happy to visit again.
