No. 53 Frederick Street, bed and breakfast in Edinburgh is perfectly situated in the very heart of the city centre, providing a magnificent yet unique spacious central home to explore Edinburgh, separated from Edinburgh Castle only by the Gardens! The Edinburgh B&B accommodation is an original Georgian townhouse situated on the second and third floors, that dates from circa 1820, and many of the original features have been carefully retained. This is an elegant and extremely spacious guest house, typified in a welcoming open hall with feature bow wall and staircase to upper floor.

Neighbourhood
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.

My partner and I booked 2 nights at No 53 Frederick Street and my only regret is we didnt stay longer. Prior to arrival one of the owners Katy advised they would have our room ready as early as 11am for when we arrived. Upon arrival we were greeted by Katy and the other owner

Thank you for staying with us recently and for taking the time to review! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and would be happy to have you back next time Wales play here 😊 Rugby weekends can be a little noisier in the city centre but we’re glad to hear it didn’t cause you any disruption. We are on the second and third floor with no lift, so are not suitable for guests who struggle with stairs, however we do try to make this clear on our website. We look forward to welcoming you back when you return to Edinburgh! Katy & David

My mum, sister & I stayed here for St Patrick’s Day. On arrival Katy was there to meet us, even though we were over an hour late. The room was prestine. We got three single beds all of which were memory foam. The B&B was so quiet - I actually can’t remember the last time I had

Hi there, I tried to put a google map link here but am unable to! There is a loading bay or 'pay and display' parkign spaces around Frederick Street where you can park when you arrive, we can then show you on a map how to get to the closest car park. If you wish to go straight to the NCP car park you shoudl continue along Queen Street after Frederick Street, onto York Place and there is a righ hand turn which is signposted. Hope this helps, if you would like any more informati please don't hesitate to get in touch with us! We look forward to your stay.

Hi, where would one park a car, and what are the fees?
Hi there gpm58, I am afraid with our central location we are unable to provide parking facilities during the day; however you are able to park from 6.30pm - 8.30am on the main street outside No 53. During the day there are a variety of options, in addition to the meter zoned areas (approx £3-4/hr) which are available there are also 4 large NCP car parks in central Edinburgh less than 5 minutes walk away (approx £20/ 24hrs). At the weekend, from 5.30pm Friday - 8.30am Monday there is free on street parking 2 streets away. Alternatively the Inverleith area of Edinburgh has free on street parking throughout the week. On arrival you can park in the 'Loading Bay' outside and check in. Depending on time of arrival we can then show you on a map the Inverleith Area or to the closest NCP. Kind Regards, David @ No 53

Is there anywhere to do laundry close by?
Hi there Kezblan67, There are 3 places that we recommend, all about 10 mins walk from the city centre and open 7 days. We can mark on a guide map the locations when you check in. Kind Regards, David @ No 53
