Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.

Very comfortable bed, spacious, clean and modern rooms. The breakfast is delicious with many freshly cooked options to choose from. The location is great being in a very atmospheric area with cobbled streets yet near to the centre and all the sights!

Big room with the very good deal. Location is good, but far from train station. If you carry a big luggage, better take taxi or Uber. Nice view and easy to find some restaurants for your lunch and dinner.

Great spot for a visit. Near all types of eating and drinking establishments. Staff were really helpful; we left our cases at reception as we got there early and when we got back they had been taken to our rooms. The room was lovely, everything in it that we needed,

Stayed over the course of a Six Nations weekend, which did mean the hotel’s charges, as for all other hotels in Edinburgh, were higher than normal. Nonetheless, we couldn’t fault the either the hotel or its staff for the service they provided. It’s up with the best we’ve stayed

Really nice hotel in The heart of The old Edinburgh. So much to see in walking distance. Staff was so nice and service was very good. The Castlehill-view is awsome. Lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs around.

How close/far is walk to catch hop on hop off?
Hi! The stop for hop on hop off is right at the other side of the street. Very close! But there is only 1 tour they go (in other cities you have 2-6 routes they're going). But they go all around the must-sees

There is very limited car parking at the hotel which is on a first come first served basis. There are local car parks nearby. Some of the parking in the area is also very expensive. I would suggest contacting the hotel directly about local parking, they are very helpful & knowledgeable about the area.
